Specs:

    • Tail lights: 7.5 amps per circuit
  • 1-Year limited warranty

Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness.

T-One Connection Location Points Behind Tail Lights

Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter

A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Brittany was extremely helpful. I needed to change order before it shipped out same day. She was very knowledgeable, understood my situation, changed my order and was able to ship out same day. I highly recommend Brittany and etrailer.com.
Very knowledgeable, super friendly and great customer service A+++

Good except 15 amp fuse and zip ties were not included. Not a big problem since I have both in my garage.

by: 08/13/2022

When product was received, some of the hardware was missing. etrailer quickly shipped the missing parts. Hitch and wiring fit perfectly. A really nice professional appearance for do-it-yourself install.

by:
2023 FordEdge

Install went ok would be better if I received 6 Wire parts for the bolts instead of 3. Hitch ad few touch up spots needing paint I believe from damage box. Also would be nice to have a template for the cut out on the Ford factory Panels not just dimensions.

Still on good shape one year later

Fishing that cable up to the tail light is tougher than they make it look. I used a hole saw and punched a couple of holes in that plastic tray to get the wire up. You should also toss in 5 feet of loom to protect the wires under the car and the tywraps are too short to go around the hitch to secure them there. I had some of each. I also hit that lighter socket in the rear luggage compartment instead of running 15 feet of wire under the car.

All the items I ordered from E trailer Worked and performed as promised Instructional videos from etrailer super helpful

by:

Easy to follow instructions. I had to tape my bolts onto the spring leader so they wouldn’t fall out. Not a big deal. Also, this hitch mounts low on the 2020 edge so you may bottom out occasionally. Installation ease is about 7 out of 10. Took about 2-1/2 hours to install the hitch and the wiring harness.

by:

Wiring kit for my 2019 Ford Edge was not as easy as others II have installed from etrailer.com on previous vehicles. But the difficulty had to do with the design of the Edge itself. Fishing the left and right connectors up the rear panels through a very limited space was very challenging, I watched the video provided and found it very helpful. I used a straightened wire clothes hanger as my fish line. Taping the connector harness to the fish wire as shown in the video did not work for me. Instead, I bent a tight hook shape at the end of my fish wire and rigged a string loop around one of the connectors. I hooked the string loop into the fish wire and taped it securely. It was then easier to pull the harness up through the body to the taillight assembly area. Did not have a tester to see if it all worked once installed. Drove 100 miles to pick up my trailer. All worked well when I connected the trailer harness to the Edge.

by:

Harness works as promised. The only reason I even attempted the install was the video resources provided by etrailer. It was a bit difficult to route the wire to the battery as I was working in my driveway with no lift available but otherwise it was very straight forward. I’d highly recommend some trim tools to help loosen the panels as it makes the wiring much easier to pull through to the tail lights. Took a bit of time to route everything and get it tied out of the way but came out clean. As long as you have the patience and ability to fit under the car it’s a straight forward DIY install.

There's a great hitch we sell for your 2020 Ford Edge called the etrailer class III 2" hitch # e36RR. This hitch has a tongue weight of 675 lbs and a max gross trailer weight of 4,500 lbs. Perfect for towing a small camper. I would refer back to the owners manual to find your specific vehicle's towing capacity and use the lowest rating between the vehicle and the hitch.
