Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located at the rear, along the inside of the frame rail on both the driver's and passenger's sides.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

T-One connector plugs directly into existing wiring - no cutting, splicing or tapping required.After installing a receiver hitch and crawling under my truck trying to scope out a spot to splice into the wiring harness, I noticed convenient couplers in the wiring on both frame rails so I went to the dealer to ask if there was some sort of plug and play trailer wiring that Dodge offered for their Dodge PU's They looked at me sort of dumbfounded and dint even comprehend for the longest time what I was even trying to describe to them. After the 3 explanation of what I wanted they said "Good Idea but no we have nothing like that." Well I wasn't going to give up that easily so I started looking online. I figured if I could not find one I might invent one and make my Millions right!.. Well it didn't take lone before I once again realized someone already beat me to my wonderful idea.
So I ordered up a set and the 7 way matching trailer plug to go with it. Renee at etrailer was super helpfull and assured me Id get it in time for Fishing seasons opening week end. UPS had a hick up and it was a day late making me a bit nervous but it still came in time. The product looked of good quality and my only complaint is the tolerances on the plugs don't match the factory plugs very well they are VERY tight and almost impossible to seat in all the way so I hope I don't have issues with them coming loose or the contacts arcing out. But it was definitely the way to go and so much better then hacking in a splice job like most of us have done in our lives. All the lights functioned perfectly on the drivers side first shot but I had to fight with one of the plugs on the passenger side as I stated they did not want to seat all the way in. I didn't see or think to ask Renee about a mounting bracket for the 7 way so I made my own out of some scrap metal I had around my shop. Whole process took me about an hour including making and installing the bracket.
Good product, great service from the folks at etrailer and I highly recommend buying form them. They are totally on top of all communication by email to their customers. Kudos to etrailer for building faith in the market place one customer at a time. They have all my future business that's for sure. I'm ready for fishing in the morning! Now what other idea can I come up with dang-it!..lol

Great product with rapid delivery within a couple of days. Literally plug-and-play, this was one of the easiest automotive electrical projects I've ever done, taking about 20 minutes to accomplish. As soon as I finished, I hooked it up to my trailer wiring, and its tail lights and turn signals worked perfectly. Highly recommended.

Plenty of wire! Plugs perfectly into the taillight connectors and I bundled the excess wire into a length of split loom tubing for the run between the connectors and the run to the end of the flat 4 connector.
Hitch and wiring harness for my 1998 pickup fit perfectly. Order was shipped promptly and actually arrived ahead of projected date. Installation directions were clear and all needed hardware was there. Very happy with etrailer products and service. This was the second hitch I have purchased for my vehicles.
Tom B - 03/16/2021The part I ordered was as advertised. The company service was good. It arrived several days ahead of expected.
The item had several yards of extra wire which since it is model specific makes the installation have a pretty big bundle of wire tied to the frame. The quality seems good. Hook up was very quick. Bundling the wires out of danger took a little time.
I am quite happy with the service and the part.

Fairly easy install. The hardest part was getting the existing connection to detach. Once this step is completed, it is a plug and go install.

The product was an exact fit to my 96 dakota.simply plug n play..moved cross country with uhaul in tow.never worried about lights or blinkers not working. I would highly recommend this wiring adapter opposed to wiring to your factory harness. Thank you etrailer for a quality product.
The wiring harness snapped together and was installed in less than 5 minutes. Easy!!
T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector: arrived a day early, plugged right into my Dakota, checked it with a test light and it all worked!
If you want to improve this, add a little electrical grease to protect the contacts and put more than 2 zip ties in - but this is complaining on a high level :-)

Part fit my truck perfectly. The custom fit makes it a lot easier than having to figure wires out and splice them. Etrailer.com was the only place I found this custom part for my 1995 Dodge Ram.
Renae - 09/15/2017Connecting the wiring harness went well. I needed two more (longer) plastic zip ties to secure all of the harness out of the way.
Testing didn't go quite as well. Everything worked except the left side turn signal. I took the tail light cover off of the pickup. The bulb is a two filament bulb; and both filaments looked fine when held up to a light. I didn't suppose it was possible to plug in a connector turned 180 degrees from correct. I guess that possibility needs to be checked next.
My son just bought a Popup camper. So we bought a draw-tite class lll frame hitch receiver pn75073, a draw-tite brake controller pn5504, a universal brake control wiring kit pnETBC7, and a custom fit wire harness pn118329 for his truck. It took us a couple of hours to install. The instructions were spot on. He hooked up the camper to his truck, and drove off. Worked as advertised. (hope I get to see him soon!!)
I got my hitch and tail light today. We had it put on my truck in about 25 min. the hardest part was taking the bolt out of the truck frame. It went on as it was made to thank you for a good product. I would buy from you again.

Tim w - 10/22/2018It plugged in, no problem. I would recommend using extra zip ties. It had plenty of length so I had to zip tie what I rolled up. Simple installation after you get your taillights unplugged. Mine is just hanging out of the back bumper so I wrapped it in electrical tape from the end to past where it contacted the bumper.
Ordered a hitch for my Dakota on Monday and it arrived (cross country almost) in 4 days. Amazing...free shipping at that. I can't recommend Etrailer any higher. The hitch went in....well.....without a hitch. A suggestion: If you don't have a deep 3/4" socket get one before you start. Also a vice grip on the hex bolt top with the flange nut makes life a lot easier. My 12 year old daughter became adept at identifying and delivering the proper parts while I was under the truck. She's skilled at this now and is available at $30/hour plus expenses.
Joking aside, the folks at Etailer have their act completly together.
