Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness.

T-One Connection Location Points Behind Tail Lights

Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter

A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

"T" Pigtails are too short to stow the connectors in the light wells. When trying to reinstall the tail light, the lower T connector pulled up, and out of the well, jamming against the light assembly. I had to disconnect the connector from the light assembly and let all the wires hang down into the well, putting a weight load on the wires that go into the light. If the pigtails were about 2" longer...PERFECT!

Seamless fit on our 2015 Durango SXT (Black Top Edition). Additional power requirement does take a bit longer to install since it must be run up to the battery or fuse box. But i find this to be a minor issue as this protects the vehicles OEM wiring if an issue arises with the trailer wiring. We installed this as part of our (Item#76196) Draw-tite Hitch install. Set aside a good hour to hour in a half for complete/neat install of the harness alone. Also worked well with the (Item#18144) 4 Flat bracket to keep the trailer end of the harness secure to the Hitch.

by:

Wiring harness works as expected. Just need to figure out a better way to mount the 4 Pin connector.

The hitch receiver is perfect. This one sits perfectly back so you can still use your factory bumper cover. At least it does in the 14 Durango’s. Need to do some very minor trimming of the lip of the bumper since the lip sits directly under the tow hooks. Without doing some trimming, in the event where the chains are holding up your trailer it will rip your bumper right off. Do the trimming. Overall very please with this product.

Ive had this wiring kit installed for a year and it has worked well for me. No issues at all.

2018DodgeDurango

It is always a pleasure doing a project that I source through etrailer.com. I bought the draw-tire hitch, wiring harness, and a couple of other things I needed for the install. Everything ordered was packed in a single shipment. It arrived earlier than expected and undamaged thanks to the care they take in packing the items.

It all went into the car as described in their videos. I love the videos they produce and post to their site. They are such a help in both shopping and execution of the project. Thanks guys!

Here’s a pic of the completed installation.

by:

This worked perfectly for as long as I had the vehicle (19 Durango). I had 2 previous units from the other brand, both failed shortly out of warranty. Just purchased another Tekonsha light kit for my 24 Pacifica.

by:

Pretty simple install and works great. It's a nice option to the Mopar harness that if used with the OEM fuse block requires you to have it programmed at the dealer which is yet another expense. For the price, this can't be beat! I went ahead and mounted it while the bumper cover was off for the receiver install and used wire loom on it to make it that much nicer.

Hi George, I'll be writing a great review! I attached a picture. It's the only one I have at the moment and doesn't actually show the hitch, just the carrier with a bike in it. I installed the hitch in no time by myself. I have some mechanical experience but it definitely wasn't a necessity here. One of the most painless projects I've ever had to do. And I really dig the fact that you guys have youtube installation videos for so many different items and vehicles. Great for the customer and good business on your part. Prices are great too. I haven't installed the wiring yet, but I plan on doing it this weekend, I'll be sure to write a review after that as well. I have my eye on a tonneau cover next.

Hitch was easy to install just the way they said it would be. For those of you who have a 2014 Dodge Durango it more than likely is pre-wired so look first before ordering wire harness. This was my mistake not etrailer if pre-wired get Curt T-connector #55515.

Minimal instructions not defined well for the vehicle at all!
Design was adequate at best, with specific vehicle application or knowledge being non-existent.

The wiring has been durable for certain. I stand b yet the lack of instructions or vehicle specificrelevant details. I hope the comments have led to more clear instructions being generated,

Purchased a trailer wiring harness for my 2016 Dodge Durango Limited and and this was a flawless design. The connectors were constructed of high quality product and mated with the SUV's connectors perfectly. Just pulled out the tail lights and connected the harness in-line with the connectors provided, attached the ground wire to a solid part of the body and placed the plug in the mounting bracket I had also purchased. It works flawlessly very first time I used it and have gotten great comments on it even from the Dodge dealer service department.

by:
2019 DodgeDurango

The product functions exactly as advertised. Unfortunately, the installation instructions and videos do not apply to a 2019 Durango R/T and presumably any year after. The installation is premised on threading the L & R taillight connectors down to the underbody via a opening behind each taillight. The openings do not exist on my Durango and therefore required a creative a approach to modify the installation. In the end, this did not require any modifications to the wiring except lengthening the power wire. My installation was combined with a receiver hitch installation. I purchased a MOPAR hitch just to be sure everything fit as OEM.

by:
2021 DodgeDurango

I followed the online video and it was very easy to install particularly as I already had the fascia removed to install the hitch at the same time, the ground wire for the unit was a bit troublesome as the self tapping screw dint want to cooperate so drilled a hole and substituted a bolt with a washer and a nut with a nylon locking element

by:
2015 DodgeDurango

Like everything else that etrailer sells, the trailer wiring harness for my 2015 Dodge Durango was easy to install and did exactly what it was said to do. After watching the installation video on the etrailer site, the wiring harness went right in. No muss, no fuss.
Any time I can buy what I need from etrailer, I do because I know the product will be of high quality and easy to install.

Purchased this one year ago. It certainly helped to wire up the connector. Worked the first time and still works correctly today.

Still Working Well on my 2019 Durango

by:

Purchased a hitch receiver, brake light wiring, and the associated mounting bracket a year ago. The equipment is still in excellent condition and works as advertised. Would highly recommend.

by:

The dealership wanted almost $2000. For this. Had the complete kit for just over $300.
One of the easiest installs I’ve ever done. Basically plug and play. I have minimal electrical experience, but with the video they sent on how to install it. I had the hitch and the harness installed in a little over an hr. I’ve recommended you guys to a lot of people.

by:
2014 DodgeDurango

hitch fit perfect. installed in 15 minutes. took me longer to get the tire off the stupid cable than it did to install the hitch. The wiring was easy to install. I'd say the only thing that took any time was running the power from the front to the back and using the tip ties to hook it along the way. Only negative if you can actually call it that was the power line was about 2 feet short of making the trip but I had some in the garage so one connector added and voila!

by:

Bought the hitch receiver about a year ago for my my 15 durango and got nothing but good experience.the installation took about 20 between the frame and wires , really easy and good quality.truly recommend to anyone that is looking for a direct fit no drilling ,cutting or modifying anything in your vehicle.

by:
2018DodgeDurango

Excellent quality! Install was not hard just time consuming.

by:
2016 DodgeDurango

I love the plug and play aspect. Not having to strip wires and use connectors is great. Not sure why I had to instal a power supply wire all the way to the battery at the front of the vehicle, is there not a power supply near the rear of the vehicle? Anyway, overall a great option.

by:

The installation video on etrailers website was extremely helpful. Super easy to install after watching that. I like the fact when you’re not using the trailer hitch receiver you can cover it up,keeping a clean look to your vehicle with this receiver option.

  • Recommended Hidden Trailer Hitch and Vehicle Wiring Harness For 2021 Dodge Durango
Absolutely! For your 2021 Dodge Durango we have the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # DT38MR which installs in a manner making it able to be completely invisible by reinstalling the small cover on the center of your bumper. This hitch has a massive 900lb tongue weight rating and 7500lb trailer weight rating making it perfect for towing a good size trailer, or for carrying a bike rack or cargo carrier if you need to in the future.
