Quickly and easily install a 7-way, RV-style trailer connector on your vehicle with this custom harness. T-connector plugs directly into OEM tow package wiring harness - no cutting, splicing or tapping required.

Features:

  • Provides a 7-way, blade-style trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights
    • Designed for use with a factory tow package
  • Connects quickly and easily - no cutting or splicing of wires
    • Locate connection points along frame rail
    • Plug in T-connector
  • Includes required relays to activate functions
  • Comes with protective cover for 7-way connector
  • Limited 1-year warranty

Installation

This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your factory tow package wiring harness, which is located beneath the rear of your vehicle, along the driver's-side frame rail.

Once installation is complete, the 7-way connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (PK12711U - sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 7-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Fast and informative response from customer service (Sheila C) Order shipped and received promptly. Easy plug into existing wiring, no cutting into exsisting wiring. Only negative would be the bracket for 7 way outlet not included, needs to be ordered separately. Would have been a fifteen minute job but I made my own bracket.

Very easy to install. Worked great until I traded in the truck 6 months later. I had an initial problem with the running lights but traced it down to a known but hard to find issue with the wire being pinched and shorted out at the wiring harness just outside of the fuse box on the left front wheel well. I am considering a motor home and will need a harness to connect my towed vehicle lights. I will definitely call for quote at that time. I will also need the front adapters to connect a 2001 VW Jetta to a Roadmaster tow bar. Thanks for a great product and great service Ken B

Sorry for delay in the review. The wiring harness worked great, I had to do some playing with it due to the wiring issues with my old truck, but it worked as expected and perfect. I had to leave my old factory harness in place for this to work, as it has the factory 7 way, but I made it work. Thanks for the professional advice and help selecting the product.

The hitch looks really good and is built real heavy and sturdy. Can't wait to get it on. Wiring harness looks super easy to install. This will set it up to haul a trailer in as little time as possible. Great package.

My 99 F-150 had both factory and after market harnesses installed. I was confused on what to order but took a chance with this one. It installed perfectly and worked perfectly. My original 7way had been cut off and the aftermarket had went bad due to corrosion.

Thanks etrailer for your website. I had no clue what I needed for my recently purchased travel trailer. After a little research on your website and the great videos on the subject I found exactly what I needed to hook up the trailer brakes to my truck. Easy install and price was good. I am now looking to purchase tires to replace the ones on my camper. I will be sending another order soon. Thanks again etrailer!

The Curt T-Connector to add 7-way trailer connector to my truck installed quick and easy, and work just like expected. It would have been helpful if this product would have provided a bracket for mounting the connector.

- C55242
by:

Easy to install (video helped); product well-built and seems like it will last a long time; If I had to suggest any improvement it would be to increase the size of the mounting screws; they are a little small to handle the push/pull forces of the plug/unplug operation. Otherwise, this is a perfect product for the application. NO wire splicing required!

- C55242
by:

Product received quicker than anticipated. Installation was simple and was able to remove all the previous owners messed up wiring and once the new part was installed everything worked perfectly. Now when I connect my trailers up all the winches / lights work as expected. The instructions were simple to understand and follow. I book marked this site and will use again and also tell my friends. Thanks etrailer

Saturn Relay

I wish I knew that there was an issue with Ford 150 wiring harnesses. The wire under the electrical distribution box (under the hood, driver side) to the trailer running lights relay apparently gets pinched and over time shorts out. I was able to repair the short and get my trailer lights back in service. Thanks to the Ford 150 forum for helping me find this issue.

Looks like a good product. I bought this and the universal adapter on this site (recommend combination) and was upset to find that there is yet another piece I have to buy to mount. Don’t understand why a universal mount needs another mount to work..

  • Parts Needed to Install Trailer Wiring on 2000 Ford F-150
Since your 2000 Ford F-150 Lightning does not have the factory tow package you'd need to go a different route for trailer wiring. You'd want to start with the part # 118344 for a 4-way wiring harness. Now if your trailer does not have brakes all you would need is the part # 37185 as an adapter to convert the 4-way to a 7-way. If you do have trailer brakes you would need the # ETBC7 instead of the # 37185 and a brake controller. This kit comes with everything needed to wire up the...

It sounds like the problem you are having with Curt trailer wiring harness # C55242 on your 2002 Ford F-150 could be a few different things. First, you said you checked the fuses. But did you also check the relays? It is possible that on your truck there are relays used to control the trailer left and right run/brake light functions.
