Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your Chrysler Pacifica's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness.

T-One Connection Location Points Behind Tail Lights

Once you've plugged in the T-connector, locate the "towing fuse" position in your fuse box and insert the included 20-amp fuse.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your Chrysler Pacifica, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter

A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your Chrysler Pacifica's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your Chrysler Pacifica operate.

With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your Chrysler Pacifica's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Video Transcript for Trailer Wiring Harness Installation- 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

Today on this 2005 Chrysler Pacifica we are going to install Tow Ready T-One connector part number 118303. First, we are going to open the tailgate so we can access the mounting bolts for the drivers side tail light lens. We are going to remove these two mounting bolts here. Now that we have the two mounting screws removed we are going to remove the tail light assembly. Be careful not to break the alignment tabs that are still connected. As you can see here, it gives us access to the rear tail light wiring. Now that we have the lens assembly away from the vehicle, we need to locate this red wire connector which will be attached to the manufacturers wiring harness. We are going to pull it up and out of the vehicle and connect our new Tow Ready T-One harness to it. Then, we will slide the locking tab into place. 1:02

Now what we need to do is make an area in this grommet using a utility knife or scissors. We are going to cut a hole in the grommet or a slit so that we can reinstall it with the wire. Then, try and feed the wires back into the vehicle and then reinstall the grommet. When the power wire is in place, unlock the red locking tab and press on the connector locking tab and disconnect it from the tail light lens assembly. You can see here I have the red, yellow, and brown wire connector of the new Tow Ready connector. We are going to plug it in line with the manufacturers wiring. We will snap the connector in place and lock in the red tab. We will take the manufacturer connector and Tow Ready connector and lock them into place and again snap the tab. Then, take the remaining wires and feed them down through the body of the vehicle. 2:11

Go ahead and pull the wires out underneath the vehicle that you fed down earlier. First, take the green and white wire and feed it up over the bumper bracket support. Now we are over on the passengers side and we will want to go back up the same hole between the body and bumper structure as we did on the drivers side when we came down. Key things you want to stay away from are points that move and heat such as the exhaust. Pull the wire up we routed to the passengers side and we can connect it in line with the manufacturers harness, just as we did on the drivers side. Now we can reinstall the passenger side tail light lens. 3:07

We are going to go ahead and route the 4-pole and we want this to come out near the center of the hitch. With the 4-pole routed, we can go ahead and mount the module. You can see here it has double sided tape on it. We will want to clean a spot behind the tail light lens and stick the module to the clean spot. With the module secured, we can reinstall the tail light lens. Now we will want to secure the wiring we have already routed. We will just use some black zip-ties. There is a little extra wire here, and I am just going to bundle it together and use a zip-tie to tie it off. That secures all of the wires and I am going to go back and trim off any extra pieces from the zip-ties. That completes the installation of our new Tow Ready T-One connector part number 118303.

I was having trouble with an after-market trailer kit and needed to fix the situation fast. I looked up trailer light kits and found the video for replacing a light system for a 2005 Pacifica on eTrailer. I ordered the kit on Wednesday afternoon and it arrived on Friday afternoon. Installation could not have been more straight forward, and everything worked perfect. For my money this was a no-brainer. Thanks eTrailer. I know where to send people for their trailer and other automotive needs! 42654

Customer service was excellent - I had mistyped my address - somehow one letter was duplicated - it took a great deal of attention to detail to discover - On reviewing the order I noticed the mistake and called the next morning and the mistake was already corrected. Video instructions were also provided by WEB. With the video resources we all have today it should have been the standards 5 years ago - I applaud etrailer for the foresight to set the standard. 19873

So far great. Installed within 20 mins. Easy. The videos your web site had showing the install were great. Just as shown. There are cheaper general one size fit all products out there, but this was well worth the extra money for the exact product. Will try it out in a few days when I go getthe boat. Thanks for the great service. 28479

Great product. Great price. Installed exactly like the the video. The wires were plenty long unlike other brands out there. Installation was easy. Took about an hour to install harness. The product installed exactly as the video showed. The video was of my exact model year, and was what drew me to purchase from etrialer in the first place. Instructions came with the product, but were of no need as the video walked me through each step. Excellent product, excellent video. 50552

Replaced the cobjob, non-working U-Haul wiring install with this DIY kit made specifically for my vehicle. Great YouTube assembly instructions and very good printed directions. Only thing missing was a step for connecting the ground wire somewhere. Works great! 150698

Do you have a question about this Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring?

  • Installing 7 Way Connector 32145 on a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica
  • If you have the factory tow package, installation of part # 42145 is very easy. There will be a connector on a wiring harness that will fit this part, it will be tucked up, maybe taped, somewhere close to the rear bumper. You will then attach the mounting bracket in a convenient location near the hitch, and it will hold the 7 way plug. If you do not have the factory tow package, you will need to connect a T-One harness inline with the tail lights using part # 118303. We have videos for...

  • Items Needed to Install Brake Controller on 2005 Chrysler Pacifica
  • Because the 2005 Pacifica is not pre-wired for a brake controller, the controller would need to be hard wired using a Brake Controller Install Kit # ETBC7. There is not a wiring adapter available. Although the install kit contains everything needed to install the brake controller, the vehicle will need a functional 4-pole trailer connector, part # 118303 if it does not already have one. The adapter included in the kit will convert the 4-pole to a 7-way trailer connector. Once the...

  • Trailer Hitch, Ball Mount, Ball, and Trailer Wiring Recommendations for a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica
  • In order to pull a trailer with your 2004 Chrysler Pacifica, you will need a trailer hitch, a ball mount, ball, pin and clip, and trailer wiring. For a trailer hitch, you can use the Draw-Tite hitch, # 75522, that you have referenced. I have included a link to the installation instructions and a link to a video showing a typical installation for you. For a ball mount, ball, and pin and clip, I recommend the etrailer ball mount kit, # 989900. This kit comes with 2 ball mounts, a 2 inch...

  • Wiring Harness is Needed to tow a Boat Trailer with Surge Brakes with a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica
  • You will not need a brake controller to tow a boat trailer with surge brakes. Surge brakes are actuated by an actuating coupler on the trailer, so all you will need is a trailer wiring harness for the lights and an electric lockout, if your actuating coupler has an electric lockout. You can tell if your actuating coupler has an electric lockout by looking at the trailer connector. If you have a 5-pin trailer connector, then you likely have an electric lockout on your coupler. If you have...

  • I believe I know the bracket that you are referring to. Take a look at the installation video for Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, # 75522 which I have linked for you. In the video, our installer actually uses one of the bolt holes used by the bracket to install the hitch. The mounting brackets on this hitch and Curt Hitch, # 13529, to fit around the contours of the bracket. The exhaust hanger should not be an issue. If you plan on doing some towing, I recommend the etrailer Ball Mount Kit,...

  • 2005 Chrysler Pacifica Wiring Harness Warranty
  • I am sorry you are having a problem with your wiring harness, unfortunately there is only a one year limited warranty on the T-One Wiring Harness. There is no subset of this product and 118303 is the only harness available for the 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. You may want to purchase the vehicle specific wire harness so that you do not risk overloading a circuit or causing a fire.

  • There should not be any major constant power draw on any of the circuits on wiring harness # 118303. Though there may be some residual power coming through. There may be a short or ground issue that is causing some power to trickle through. Check the vehicle side connector for any dirt or corrosion and clean it out. • The 4-pole trailer wiring harness you referenced, TowReady T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118303, is a correct fit for your 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. This plug-in harness requires no cutting or splicing of wires since it uses T-connectors that plug in inline with the wiring to your Pacifica tail lights. To test it, have someone sit in the vehicle to run through the various functions (turn signals, running lights, and brake lights) while you test the wiring with a circuit tester, # 3808.
