2017 Chevrolet Equinox - Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector

  • 4 Flat
  • Trailer Hitch Wiring
  • No Converter
  • CURT

Quickly and easily install a 4-way trailer connector on your Chevrolet Equinox with this custom harness. T-connector plugs directly into existing wiring - no cutting, splicing or tapping required.

Features:

  • Provides a 4-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights
    • Compatible with 5-pole, 6-pole and 7-pole adapters (sold separately)
  • Connects quickly and easily - no cutting or splicing of wires
    • Locate connection points behind tail lights
    • Plug in T-connector
  • Comes with dust cap for 4-way flat connector
  • Limited 1-year warranty

Installation

This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

This was extremely easy to install. I installed it when I put in the hitch, even though I just needed the hitch for a bike rack. Last week I rented a U-Haul trailer and it worked perfectly!

by:

I've seen many aftermarket hitches that are obviously not built for a specific car, and they look terrible when installed. The hitch I purchased from Etrailer.com was a perfect fit for my car. It was built by Curt Mfg., and was surprisingly easy to install. I had the wiring harness installed in about 45 minutes, and it just plugs into existing wiring (no splicing). And the hitch bolted onto the car with no cutting, drilling or hammering. It was done in about an hour. The finished installation looks like it came with the new car ! The process was much less expensive than having the dealer install it.
Excellent product !!

Still impressed with the installation and the good fit. I have hauled various stuff in my 6 by 6 trailer, up to about 2500 lbs. Works fine. Doesnt feel loose. Doesnt squeak. Had several compliments on the look and subsequent referrals.

by:
2017 GMC Terrain

Product arrived in a timely manner with one of the hangers fully exposed out side the box. The heavy construction of the Hitch receiver proved to be too much for the delivery process and the unit was in perfect condition. I viewed the video and started the job of installation. Took me about 1 and a half hours to complete the job.
The design of the unit was such that no drilling was required and the included fish wire was a wonder tool bringing bolts and square hole locks to the proper hole down a hollow frame. The wiring kit was super easy to install with step by step instructions and with NO cutting wires. Sorry it took so long to install. At 82 years old I have slowed a bit. Now I can pull my Jon boat to the lake. Happy Camper.

Great! It was received in a short time, easy to install with great instructions and works well.

by:

A straight forward installation that has never hiccuped even once. Etrailer for the win.

by:

Easy to install, perfect fit, works well. I recommend also purchasing the plug mounting bracket.

by:

Very, very easy install on both the hitch and trailer wiring harness.

by:

Item was as advertised. I like the fact that the 4 prong connector was exact match so that it fit on the sheet metal bracket. However the Left connector that plugs into the factor wiring harness had to be "filed" down somewhat so that the connector would "Click" or lock into the mating connector. A real pain the the butt as I had fished the wiring up from below and only had about 6" of wire to work with. No other connection experienced this issue.

by:

Hitch was easy to install but the wire for the bolt and nut keeper needs to be a little longer. Also difficult to torque the center 1/2" nuts as they are offset and because the chain plates are in the way from getting directly 90 degree access. Ended up rounding one of the nut-heads and could not reach full 110# of torque.

This wiring harness is very easy to install. I had a bit of trouble getting the tail lights out of our 2012 equinox but with a a second set of hand they slipped out without doing any damage. I used extra zip ties and wire loom to help protect the wire. Be sure to keep it away from the exhaust if you have a V6 with duel exhaust tips. I modified a Curt rubber tube cover to secure the harness to the receiver. I made sure to leave extra wire in behind the hitch so that I can pull it through when I need it.

by:
2017 GMC Terrain

Worked great. So easy to install. Only complaint is that the zip ties are too short to go around the the diameter of the hitch. You need to double them up so there aren’t really enough to properly secure the wires completely.

by:
2015 GMC Terrain

The hitch and wiring harness arrived on time. One of the vertical brackets on the hitch had broken through the box due to UPS manhandling, but nothing was damaged. After re-tapping the welded bolts on my 2012 Terrain the hitch was on in 15 minutes. Fit perfectly and looks like it came with the vehicle. The wiring harness was hands down the easiest product that I have ever installed on any vehicle. I like how nothing needed to be cut or spliced. Took me all of 10 minutes to install. And it works perfectly! I am very happy wit the product and service I received from etrailer.

by:
2010 GMC Terrain

Excellent product, very easy to do. I am not a fan of cutting into existing wiring, so this kit was the answer. It took less than a hour.

The Curt 2 inch hitch for my 2010 GMC Terrain was also an easy installation. All hardware was supplied and extra for situations that maybe encountered, i.e.., bolt holes not threaded from factory. The 2010 Terrain was all bolt on. What I especially like is the fact that it is totally hidden except for the receiver.

by:
2012 GMC Terrain

I ordered this hitch & wiring kit for my 2012 GMC Terrain SLE 3.0 6 cylinder and it went on in less than 30 minutes! I ordered the hitch and wiring harness on Monday (Labor Day even) and the package arrived on Wednesday afternoon - WOW! Thank you eTrailer.

by:
2016 GMC Terrain

I installed a Curt hitch receiver on my new 2016 GMC Terrain. I then installed the wiring harness and it couldn't have been any easier. Took me about 20 minutes to install the harness. If all my projects were this easy, I would be a happy camper. Including photo of rear of the car with hitch. The harness connector is hidden up under the bumper cover so that it isn't just hanging down.

by:
2012 GMC Terrain

Fantastic perfect fit easy to use and install 30 min install including reading the owner's manual for conflicts there were none. Trailer hitch and wiring fit my 2012 GMC Terrian like it was from the factory

by:

I found the products I purchased from etrailer to be very good, easy to install at a reasonable price . I was pleased with my customer service from placing the order to delivery and follow up. I highly recommend etrailor and next time a purchase auto accessories I will start with etrailor.

Great,I like it a lot

by:

Easy installation my only problem, I had to chase the the welded threaded nuts on the SUV. Looks good. I can now hook a trailer up for small hauling jobs

by:
2013 GMC Terrain

Hitch fit perfect. A friend and I got it installed easy once I retreaded the weld holes on the SUV. Five and a half years really corroded them. Wiring was smooth also. Will buy from here again

by:

I like the fact that you just plug in to the factory harness

by:

This wiring harness fit my vehicle perfectly and, thanks to the helpful step by step video provided by etrailer.com, was very easy to install.

  • Hitch Recommendation for 2013 GMC Terrain
The biggest difference between the discontinued Hidden Hitch part # 87572, and the Curt Hitch part # 13591 that you referenced is the round tube vs. square tube. Another difference is that the Draw-Tite hitch uses a couple more attachment points. Either would work great for you.
