Installation
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the fascia panel on the rear bumper.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plug on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Installing the wiring harness could not be easier. The SRX is pre wired for the trailer wiring harness just remove the factory cap installed to keep the fitting clean and plug in the Curt connector and route the 4 pole plug for final attachment after the hitch is installed.
We are a repair shop and ordered this part for one of our customers along with the hitch.Everything fit great and job went smooth customer was very happy and has been back a few times since to have other things done and hasnt had any issues with hitch or wiring.

I took a chance that my 2011 SRX Premium had the trailer wiring harness and all I needed was this connector. I also installed the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2". I am extremely happy with the result. I bought this to hook my bike rack to the back of my SRX to take on vacation. I actually don't plan on Towing a trailer with my SRX because I have a Silverado for that but I wanted to take a bike rack and I needed the 2" receiver. Even though I don't need lights for my bike rack I figured I should do the job right. The result was great. I even cut out the rear plastic cover to mold over the trailer hitch. One cool thing I was able to do was to create a cut out for the wire connector in the fascia of the tow cover. I have attached a few pictures. I think this looks much better than a dangling connector or a zip tied connector. I chose a drill bit that was the exact thickness of the rounded edge of the connector, drilled two holes and then cut out the area for the connector to make a tight fit. It won't come out. I am personally unclear which models of the SRX and at what Trim levels came with the tow wiring connector but I can tell you that the 2011 SRX with the Premium package does have the tow connector ready to go.
I ordered the trailer hitch and wiring attachment for my 2010 Cadillac SRX, and I was able to bolt your product right up with NO problems whatsoever - it fit like a glove, and I would strongly recommend etrailer.com to anyone - Many Thanks.....
I have had this on my suv for a year now it’s holding up great.
It took me about hour and half to install,I’m 73 so it took me a while to install.
Only problem I had was getting the torque tool in tight spots.
I have not put the items on yet but the delivery and service alone was amazing! I got my items very fast and was very please with how easy everything was. Awesome customer service. I will be doing my install this weekend.

I was suprised and pleased at how quickly the tow hitch and harness was shipped and arrived at my home. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. I had the installation done in under one hour. Looks great and the fit was perfect.
John - 08/14/2017Fortunately, my model car had a direct wiring connection from the factory, so wiring was just a plug-n-play. I used the Curt T-Connector 4 pole - 56096 wiring harness. Not all model/brand of vehicles have this direct plug-in feature. Wiring it much more extension in those cases.
I received my order (hitch receiver and electrical hookup) in a very prompt manner. I did take several weeks for me to get around to the install. But when I did, it was as easy and quick as stated. The electrical connection plugged right in without much effort at all. The receiver was a perfect fit. Bolted right on! I didn't include pictures because my vehicle is already very well covered in that regard. Same color and all.
Bottom line is the whole set up is very cost effective and was completely done installing within 45 minutes. Couldn't be more satisfied. Thank you e-trailer!!

We are very pleased with the craftsmanship and ease of installation of our Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver. We were even able to customize the bumper cover to reattach after the hitch was installed for an aesthetically pleasing look. Definitely recommend this product!
Was in a pinch to get some extra cargo space for my 2016 Cadillac SRX so I bought a hitch and wiring harness from etrailer.com.
