The quality of the hitch is pronominal. The engineering, manufacturing, and finish is outstanding. The instructions were spot on. Made in the USA was one of the most important decision making factors. The customer service response from both etrailer and B&W was impressive. The only negative was some cosmetic damage from shipping. I would highly recommend this product. 758787

This product has a high-quality plug molded into a 90-degree head. The 7, AWG stranded-copper (not copper-coated aluminum) conductors are made with quality insulation and the cable is a low voltage RV quality cable. Very pliable. Contained within the cable are the familiar colors we all recognize as trailer or RV colors. Black, white, red, green, yellow, brown and blue. White and black conductors are #10 gauge, blue #12 gauge and the remaining 4 are 14 gauge. These sizes will cover any application you have in mind. Negatives are: No installation directions as to hole saw needed and how the conductors are mapped onto the plug. Yes, I know, it is standard, but it would be nice to have something that says which color is which. Ron Lines SW-Virginia 735765

  • Recommended Wiring Harness For 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 With Tow Package

This has 7-ft wiring, so you can use butt connectors to attach to the wiring harness you said is included with your truck. The Bargman 5th Wheel and Gooseneck 90-Degree 7-Way Pigtail Harness # 51-97-407 is a general-purpose wiring harness kit that is not vehicle-specific. This is intended for hardwired installation to the vehicle's existing wiring using the pigtail leads. Do note that the function carried on each wire is noted in the products specs. Matching wire functions is the best way to install a harness since wire colors are not 100-percent standardized. If you do not have any tow wiring on the truck...

  • Best Wiring Options for Towing a 5th Wheel Trailer
You have a few options when it comes to 5th wheel wiring for your truck. Most trucks come with factory 7-way trailer connectors at the bumper. If your truck has a factory 7-way, then I recommend installing a 5th wheel wiring harness like the Hopkins Endurance 5th Wheel Harness, # 41157. In-bed harnesses provide a quick and easy connection point in the bed, so you don't have to modify the existing trailer harness to make it longer or use an extension. This harness has a 90-degree plug,...

  • What is the Wire Gauge Used in Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Wiring for 2015 Ford F-250
I spoke with my contact at Curt about wiring harness # C56070. He said that there are 12 to 14 gauge wires used. The 12 volt and ground wires would be the larger 12 gauge. Hardwire harness # 51-97-407 uses 10 gauge for the ground and 12 volt circuits. But the difference between 10 and 12 gauge wire for this application is not going to be a problem so I would stick with the custom harness # C56070.

I have attached a picture of the U.S. style car connector for you to compare to. We do have the parts needed to add a 7-Way trailer connector to the bed of your 1997 Ford F-350. To determine exactly what you will need we have to first look at what type of trailer connector, if any, is on your truck. If it came with a factory installed 7-Way at the bumper check to see if you can unplug a round connector from the back of the 7-Way socket.
