Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located in the rear cargo area. You will have to remove the rear threshold plate, privacy screen, storage covers, and floor covering to access this harness. Several trim panel fasteners will need to be removed, along with the lower interior trim panels on the driver's side.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in your rear cargo area.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Overall I was very pleased but a few things to consider. I purchased a wiring harness on Sunday and chose the standard shipping (I think it was free or very inexpensive). The anticipated arrival date was Friday. By Wednesday I hadn’t received a notice that the harness was shipped so I contacted etrailer and they told me that Friday was only “the anticipated” arrival date and since I didn’t purchase expedited shipping my order hadn’t been processed yet. I was told my only option was one or two day shipping if I wanted it for Friday. I opted for two day and etrailer did get it shipped that night so I received it Friday.
The wiring harness is excellent. Easy to install and worked great. Exactly as described.
Good quality, has worked as needed, would come back to trailer again.
I don't think this is a truly vehicle specific wiring harness (read for more).
Harness was relatively easy to install after removing the floor panels, threshold scuff plate and pulling enough of driver side trim to access the factory harness. I used the grommet location in the center of the cargo pan near the bumper to run the wire to the hitch area under the car. I did have to cut the wires going to the 4 flat connector to fit through the hole in the metal - then cut slice in factory rubber grommet to push wire through and reconnected the 4 wires with butt splice connectors inside the cargo area.
Where I am confused, is instructions indicate this version only works with 2 red wires in the cars harness for the 12 volt power or you have to run a separate wire to the battery. While the 2022 advance only has 1 red wire in the cars harness, the Acura OEM wiring harness for this model does not require a 12 volt run to the battery, only connecting to the cars harness to a very similar controller box then to the 4pin flat harness with installing a 7.5a fuse in the open "small trailer" fuse position in the center under hood fuse panel.
With fuse installed, car harness has 12 volts on the red wire pin, it is just in the incorrect location compared to the 118800 harness. If factory OEM harness does not require separate 12volt power why isn't the power pin in this harness in the correct location matching the car harness?

While it may be possible to install it this way and have some power, I still recommend running that wire because otherwise you only have power coming from the lights. Down the line it is more than likely that you would run into issues with not having enough power.
Rec'd my Tekonsha Custom fit trailer Wiring harness for my 2019 Acura RDX! Great price and the quality is the same as U-Haul harnesses. Big exception, my harness through etrailer.com cost me $33, at U-Haul it was $75, what a difference in price! Thank you etrailer, I will have it installed tomorrow, should fit perfectly, made specifically for my SUV. Perfect!!!

I have used my wiring harness during this past year. It has worked well every time I use it. I will always check with etrailer 1st before purchasing any accessory I might need. Excellent products!
Excellent product. I did find I ordered the wrong harness but did not know that until I read the instructions and accessed my connector plug on the car and found I needed the 118804 harness with 12v wire to the battery. Have delt with etrailer before and had excellent response from Vicki who sent me the correct harness on the same day. Thank you!

Excellent product
I have used these wiring harnesses from T-One through E-Trailer before so even though I have not yet installed this one I trust that it will be as good as the ones I have used before. Good product, fast shipping, great value.

Perfectly, no glitches just plug it into your trailer 4 pin connector and go.
Great quality and easy installation of wiring harness
This is my second order from etrailer and the comments apply to both orders, class two hitches and electrical harnesses for a Subaru Forester XT and a 2020 Acura RDX. The hitches arrived promptly, well packaged with no damage. I could install them with minimal fuss. Hardest part was loosening the rubber exhaust hangers. Everything lined up and works fine. Haven't towed with the RDX yet, but towed a trailer with several motorcycles on the XT for a few hundred miles in MD and PA with no issues.
etrailer offers a great product, ships promptly, at a decent price. Will definitely continue to be a customer.
etrailer was much easier to use than the big “A”. I was able to find the best products and advise. I’ll be back.

Working great after a year
Items arrived ahead of time.
etrailer got my order out the door

The amazing thing was that they had
the item in stock.
The 20 RDX required a new hitch
design.
Drawtite was the first out but NOBODY
could get one EXCEPT etrailer and I looked hard.
Without exception they are COURTEOUS and they deliver.

Great price and quality. Installed on 2020 Acura RDX...some re & re involved which has nothing to do with product. Use recommended tools for panel removal. Acura buried the location to connect up to...??? If your tech savvy you’ll save big money over dealer install.
