Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness.

T-One Connection Location Points Behind Tail Lights

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Circuit-Protected Tail Light Converter

A tail light converter is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. The tail light converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

This converter safeguards itself and your vehicle against possible electrical shorts and overloads with integrated short circuit protection. Just install the connector as indicated and rest assured that the wiring system of your vehicle will remain feedback-free.

I installed the wiring harness per instructions and ran the right side wiring in back of the hitch and zip tied it to the cross member. It isn't going to move or chafe at that point. I tested it on a test light and it works fine. I have it all buttoned up with no hanging wires. I did notice that there was no two sided tape provided as they had written in the instructions there would be. I provided my own.. and longer zip ties for the cross member. I also provided my own grounding screw as the one provided was short and the head wasn't wide enough for the ground connection. Other than that, it installed quickly. 431932

  • Wire Harness Recommendation For 2006 Jeep Commander
For a 2006 Jeep Commander with no 7-way connector, I recommend the Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, part # 118408. This harness easily connects to the vehicle wiring and requires no cutting or splicing into the wires. I have attached a link to an installation video for this harness you can check out. When working with electrical connectors I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the electrical connections and helps prevent corrosion.

  • Trailer Running Lights Only Working on Passenger Side with a Kia Soul
First, I am showing wiring harness # 118431 for a 2010 Kia Soul, so hopefully that is the one you are using. This sounds like a ground problem on the trailer. The running light circuit is on a different wire than the stop and turn lights, so it makes sense that those are working correctly. On the trailer, take a look at the offending light. Trailer lights usually ground through the mounting studs, unless there is an obvious ground wire. While back there, check that the bulb is intact. In...

This kit includes the new 7-Way/4-Way connector plus all the additional wiring and circuit breakers needed to complete the brake output, 12V, and reverse light (if needed) circuits on the new connector.
