How to Measure 5th-Wheel Toy Hauler

Adco How to Measure 5th-Wheel Camper

To determine the proper fit, measure the length (front overhang to rear bumper including spare tire or ladder, where applicable) and sidewall height (undercarriage to the top of the natural roof line). This cover is designed to accommodate rooftop accessories such as AC units and vents.

Choose Cover by Climate

Adco Climate Map

The climate where you are storing your fifth-wheel toy hauler will help determine which cover to choose. This Tyvek All-Climate + Wind cover is designed for use in all climates located on the map above.

Adco 5th Wheel Cover

This contour-fit cover helps keep your fifth-wheel toy hauler dry and well protected when not in use. It features a 3-layer DuPont Tyvek top and 3-layer polypropylene sides to protect against sun, rain, mold, and mildew in all climates. Elastic corners and a rope cinching system allows you to draw the cover in tight over your vehicle. Zippered panels on passenger's side and rear offer access to your toy hauler during storage. Includes 4 Tyre Gards to protect your vehicle's wheels when stored.

Fabric Guards Against Elements

Adco Class C Tyvek Cover

The top panel is constructed of triple-layer DuPont Tyvek fabric that is stronger and more UV resistant when compared to standard polypropylene covers. It blocks 99.8 of damaging UV rays while keeping the interior cool through infrared heat reflection. It also prevents 98 percent of dirt and dust particles from reaching the toy hauler's surface. Additionally, the fabric beads water to eliminate pooling and ice build-up that can damage your toy hauler or cover. And the material resists acid rain, bird droppings, tree sap, dirt, dust, and other forms of environmental pollution that cause black streaks.

The sides of the cover are made of a non-abrasive, triple-layer polypropylene. This high-performance, non-woven fabric is water resistant and breathable to prevent the growth of mold and mildew.

Air Vents Help Cover Breathe

Adco Class C Air Vents

Air vents on the sides allow air to escape the cover in moderate winds to prevent billowing. These built-in vents also help the cover breathe to prevent mold and mildew.

Straps and Elastic Corners Ensure Snug Fit

Adco Corner and Cinching System

The cover is designed to fit snugly over your fifth-wheel toy hauler for a clean look and better protection from the elements. Elasticized corners grip your vehicle tightly, and they are reinforced to reduce wear and prevent tears and snags. Cinch ropes in front and back remove slack and reduce billowing.

Adco Strap and Buckles

Weighted straps with buckles run beneath your vehicle to secure the cover in place. The weighted ends allow you to easily toss the straps from one side of the vehicle to the other. Once buckled, the straps can be pulled tight to ensure the cover is securely fastened so it won't blow away with the wind.

Zippered Panels Offer Access

The cover features zippered panels on the passenger's side and rear so you can still access the interior of your toy hauler with the cover installed.

Storage and Protection

Adco Class C accessories

A ladder cap, rain gutter spout protectors, 4 Tyre Gards, and a storage bag are included with the cover. Place the cap on top of your vehicle's ladder and the protectors over your rain gutter spouts to reduce wear on the cover. The Tyre Gards protect your wheels while toy hauler is in storage. The bag allows you to store the cover compactly in your vehicle or garage when not in use.

Video Transcript for Adco RV Cover with Tyre Gards Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at the ADCO RV cover for fifth wheel trailers. They're available in eight different sizes to fit your fifth wheel up to 43 feet long. This ADCO All-Climate fifth wheel cover features a Tyvek top panel. It's designed to protect your fifth wheel trailer from sun exposure, wind, and the elements. The fabric is water resistant, yet breathable to help prevent mold or mildew. The vents will also help reduce moisture.

The zippered entry panels allow you easy access to your fifth wheel trailer while the cover remains in place. It features a cinch system at the front and the rear to remove slack and reduce billowing. The 28 foot long end grater covers also have a zipper panel at the rear for your toy hauler. To remove it just reverse your steps and it comes with a storage bag to keep everything nice and tidy. Now that we've gone over features, I'll go ahead and show you how to get it installed. Now this most certainly be done with one person but on a windy day like today, it's a good idea to have an extra set of hands.

Now it's going to come shipped to you wrapped up just like this. I'm going to go ahead and unwrap it and then call in my extra set of hands. We're going to unroll it and find out which way is the front and which is the rear and they're labeled. We can set our storage bag aside. It looks like you found the rear there.

I'll take this to the rear while he takes the front to the front. Now we can go ahead and spread it out and we need to locate the top, it's all white. By bringing the top over, we can then kick out the other side. Now should the wind build up, just bring it as low to the ground as you can until it all escapes. As we're spreading it out, let's locate our straps and unravel those. Once all of our straps are unrolled, we now want to take the sides and fold them roughly over to the middle.

You want to repeat this for the other side. Now let's roll it up from the rear to the front. Then we'll want to carry the whole bundle and set it just behind our fifth wheel trailer. We'll grab the end and start climbing up our ladder and it's going to unravel as we go. Once we get to the top, we'll walk all the way forward and start throwing it over the corners. I've got my buddy down below holding the other end should the wind start to pick up. Then we'll begin spreading out the corners. Now as you're working down the sides, it's a good idea to throw down the straps that way your buddy can help you kind of work it into place. With our front corner started, we can begin then heading back towards the rear and letting down our sides. Once we get to the rear, we'll want to do our corner opposite the ladder first and then climb down. As we clomb down, we'll take the last corner with us. Then we can just go around our fifth wheel pulling down the sides. As we get to the front, we'll just continue pulling them down. With everything in place we'll want to be sure and center it up with our fifth wheel, then we can begin securing our bottom corners. The bottom corners are cinch straps. We can just connect the buckles and then pull it tight. As you can see I'm just tightening it as I pull it. Now should it get difficult to tighten with it connected, you can actually disconnect it, pull it tight and then reconnect it. Then we'll do the same process in the front. In the front we're just tucking it up underneath our fifth wheel hitch connection. Then we'll tighten the slip stream straps that run along the top side. This is going to tighten up our top corners. Then we'll repeat this process with all four corners. With our top slip stream straps secured, let's go ahead and do our bottom. Again we'll just pull out as much slack as we can and then connect it. We'll repeat the same process for the other side. Now we'll return to the back and secure our three straps here. With the back being done, let's go ahead and secure the entire front. Here underneath the hook and loop is removable to adjust for different sizes. Now we'll do our two straps for the underside. Lastly we can secure our bottom straps. We'll take our included weight, we'll attach it here and throw it underneath so we can access it from the other side. Here on the underside we can disconnect our weight, we'll connect it to the buckle and then tighten it up just the same. Then we'll repeat the same process for the other straps. Now we can install our tire guards. We'll be sure to find the elastic end, that's what's going to go over the top of our tire. The straps go at the bottom. I'm just going to slightly lift up on my RV cover, bring it over the top, make sure that the front seam lines up with the front portion of the tire and then just pull it down. Then we'll bring our strap around to the back side and connect it to the buckle and pull it tight. Then we'll just repeat the same process for our other tires. With our tire guards installed, we've got you covered. That's going to complete our look at the ADCO RV cover for fifth wheel trailers.

I haven't officially installed it yet because as I was unwrapping the packaging and removing the cover from the box, there was an "ADCO" tag advising to measure my RV according to the ADCO website instructions. Once I did that, I learned that I was three feet short with my initial understand of how long my RV was. By all means, measure from the bumper and or ladder (whichever sticks out further) to the front as described then use that measurement to order your cover. . . .Now I know! 504197

Delivered in 4days, easy enough to install myself. Alot of straps to tie down and cinch cover. I did open package in driveway to orient cover and fold to make installation easier from roof. I liked the little covers for gutter extensions too. 501644

Had a few corners rip. I added more material to bad areas. Hope it hold up at least 2 more years.

I have been using Adco covers for my Newmar fifth wheel since shortly after I purchased it. My fifth wheel was new in January 2007 so I have had it right at 12 years. This is my 4th cover. I get 3-4 years out of the covers. My first cover back in 2007 seemed to have the best material and lasted 4 years and every year after the material seems to get thinner. I will be surprised if this one last 3 years as the material is so thin on the sides. I have never had issues with the top material. The design of the cover has improved over the years with strap placement and overall fit. Design is well thought out now. 584906

This is my fourth Adco, Tyvek cover for my 2008 Jayco Eagle fifthwheel trailer. The covers are warranted for 3 years and I have been able to get a 3 1/3 year average out of the covers. My trailer is 32' long, so I have had to purchase the 31.1' to 34' cover. I have always had about two feet of cover left at the rear of the trailer. I found for my trailer. the upper and lower snug straps are not functional because of the excessively longer cover. The new cover only has on strap per attachment vs 2 in the last cover, for the bottom. All being said, I like the quality of the cover and when I uncover my trailer, it looks good as when I purchased it 10 years ago. 589208

I purchased the cover for my 32 ft 5th wheel trailer, I live near Lake Ontario where there is a lot of wind, after the first year the cover had many holes near the corners and some of the straps under the unit that hold the cover on broke. One of the zippers broke in the middle of the winter, I taped it and this spring fixed it myself. I think I'm going to try and use it this coming winter but not sure how long it will last. I have patches that came with the cover, I installed them this spring. I pulled the cover out a week ago and some of the patches fell off. It is insured but having purchased other covers in the past from others they wanted me to return the cover when it was destroyed, it cost a lot to return covers that big. 564015

Excellent service from start to finish with this cover. Being able to view demo videos of the product being installed is a great advantage prior to buying the product. Shipped to Canada on standard shipping in under 5 days which was also impressive. I installed the cover yesterday. I followed the ETrailer video instructions to a T and from start to finish, approximately 1 hour. This was also taking the time to install tennis balls on my gutter spouts, an idea shared by previous buyers that I read, and works very well. The cover seems very well contstructed. My 5th wheel is 33’10” and the 34’ cover fits perfectly. Centering the cover was my biggest concern after rolling it out, but it wasn’t that hard to get it centered, not much adjustment needed after rolling it out. The cinch straps took out the slack nicely, giving the cover a nice fitted look. Overall installation with the online video tool went very well. Also installed by myself. I obviously haven’t had the chance to see how the product will stand up to winter weather in Edmonton, Alberta; I will gladly give further feedback after the winter months. Thanks E Trailer for a very painless and positive experience while shopping / purchasing our 5th wheel cover. 569183

Was very easy to put on ,just follow the supplied instructions. I wish they could supply more gutter guards ,and just remember to put foam around any sharp edges as it is in possible to stop cover from moving when windy over all very happy with cover. 576115

Cover lasted about 3 month in open wind in Wisconsin. Had many rips from top to bottom. Company replaced it with new one. We also had damage to trailer so will not be putting cover on this year. 718490

The ordering process, delivery, and ease of installation were 5 star. The cover fit perfectly and was an easy one man job to complete. I had researched and watched many videos with some very good tips (like putting tennis balls over the gutter ends to avoid tearing). Unfortunately, at the end of the winter, I found multiple rips in the fabric. Any place where any small wind caused the fabric to rub on the camper surface eventually ended up in a tear especially on the back ladder area and all corners. Outside of wrapping the camper in bubble wrap, I don't see how to avoid tears in the cover. 718167

Sorry, have no pics for you to relate to but, the cover fit too loose on my Crusader 28rl, with limited side straps the winds filled the cover like a parachute, I then secured the cover with role at effective intervals, this worked well till the ropes dug into the roof and caused extensive costly repairs. If the cover was designed to fit properly this would not have happened. 717792

I live in Alaska and wanted a RV cover to protect our 5th wheel during the long winter. This cover works well. The only issue I had is that the cover is a little too tall for our half-ton size RV, meaning quite a bit of excess fabric has to be tucked beneath the skirt. Also, make sure to protect all sharp and semi-sharp edges (e.g., TV antenna, ladder, bumper corners, entry steps) as they will otherwise chafe the fabric. 711086

Great product, the install went according to the video. The only thing I did different was to put the cover on top of my 5th wheel then I rolled it out. Easy to install. Time will tell how good this product is. Seems well built 693592

After having the cover for a year now I have to say it was a good purchase. To begin we got excellent customer service. The first cover we got had some manufacturing defects out of the box. However it was replaced ASAP! That is the main reason for the 5 stars. Once a good system of covering and uncovering is established it really is quite easy to use. The only negative I have is more/better reinforcement is needed in a couple areas. One the drip extenders and the ladder. I will purchase this again when this one wears out. 657440

After one season, actually 4 months of winter use, the cover has seen considerable wear. The one-size fits all may work for the taller toy haulers, but for a 7' tall horse trailer the fit wasn't great. The many straps did help with getting the cover snug though. The trailer was parked on the east side of a building since most of our wind and weather comes from the west. Despite being somewhat protected, the cover suffered numerous tears where straps attach and along the bottom panel seams. Holes wore through in many places where there was any type of an edge. I walk pass the trailer several times a day and regularly adjusted strap tension. Still, the trailer was protected from the sun and weather. The top of the cover appeared to have wore well when removed in the spring. I am hoping to get at least 4 more months of duty out of this cover this year. 590499

This is a great cover! I purchased and installed it in 2017 before winter. I was impressed over how well the cover was made and how well it fit my 35' 5th wheel trailer. It looks just like the manufacturer's picture when installed. This spring I was especially surprised how well it held up considering that it was on the RV from Nov. to early May. My 5th wheel was just as spotless as it was when I covered it and I didn't need to wash the unit before our first trip - amazing! I just covered my 5th wheel again yesterday for the 2018 winter and I was just as impressed with the cover/how easy it is to install as I was last year - and it still looks new! I live in Western PA and the wind/rain/snow can be brutal on RV covers, but this manufacturer has it figured out in the way the cover is made and the way it cinches down to keep from billowing in the wind. Over the years on past RVs I've used covers from two different manufacturers, and I've paid more money for those covers, but they weren't built as well and they didn't keep the unit protected (and clean) like this one does. I even installed additional straps around the RVs on these previous covers to keep them from billowing, but they still ripped in the wind. I see no need for the additional straps on this cover and I look forward to many trouble free years of winter protection! 581414

buying from e-trailer has been a great experience. The ordering was easy. Damaged on receiving the product, wasn't happy. Thats how shipping goes sometimes. Contacted etrailer and Nikki was a great help! Emailed her pics, and they sent me another very quickly. That process was easy and painless. As for the product itself it has been installed for about 2 weeks now, and have some 35-40 mph winds, snow and ice. So far the ADCO RV cover is holding up well. I am a little concerned about the buckles, as they appear a little light weight for such big cover. Time will tell on this one. If they fail I will be contacting ADCO since they offer a 3 year warranty. Any way I would recommend this product as of now, and the price is great from what I could find doing my research. 472977

It was on my 27 ft travel trailer for less than 6 months before it ripped. Camper is in a campground in ohio, so no high winds. I was given a replacement cover which will go on in about 2 weeks, so we will see this winter how it goes. Was told if it did rip again i wasn't eligible for a replacement.... 711508

The cover looks great and stalls easily and described in the literature. Unfortunately mine ripped during the winter in a few places. The top should be made of tougher material for winter conditions. 566908

Comments

I duct taped the tears, and most of the tape held last winter. The cover looks good, but the top needs to be a stronger material if you are living where is snow accumulation.

Review from a similar Adco All-Climate Plus Wind in RV Covers

We purchased the Adco RV trailer cover for our new Lance 1475 travel trailer from etralier. I have always had great service with etrailer and the Adco cover was a snap to put on. Watch the video about rolling it up and depending on the size of your trailer, you may not even have to get on the roof, which we didn't. I would suggest an expandable pole to push the rolled up cover over the opposite side and once that's done, you can make adjustments from the ground. The cover is well thought out and straps pull it tight on all sides. There was a little wiggle room at the roof line, so we'll see how things fair during the winter months. The cover is well-made and thought out and based on our experience so far, I would highly recommend this cover for your travel trailer. 572307

Great looking and fitting cover for the most part. Nice big zippers for easy entry without removing the cover. Our Lance trailer has some rain gutters, which stick out and created holes in the cover, which we will need to repair before installing again. Also, the bottom rear corners of the trailer required rubber bumpers to avoid tearing of the cover while installed. Overall, we are happy with the cover and will make the necessary repairs and reinforce the stress areas.

Adco does offer a patch kit as part # 290-2093
Adco Universal RV Cover Patch Kit - 6 Colors

that you might be interested in to patch the small holes from your rain gutters. We have had other customers say they had luck covering their gutters with a thick foam or pool noodles before using their cover for the end of the season.

Review from a similar Adco All-Climate Plus Wind in RV Covers

Our experience with eTrailer was great! We had never done business with them before and found them on the internet while trying to find a new RV cover for our motor-home. Although they were not the first company listed in a "Google" search, they were the most competitive, and their service was amazing! Our order was acknowledged almost immediately, the cover was shipped out within a few hours (freight free), and it arrived right on time a few days later. The next time we need anything for our RV, there's absolutely no doubt we'll contact eTrailer again! 564028

Much better than expected! The Adco RV cover is much better than our last one....stronger, easier to use, and better in many ways. Theyve done a good job of improving what had been a good product...and making it even better!

Review from a similar Adco All-Climate Plus Wind in RV Covers

Just got my ADCO cover (thanks for the fast delivery) and covered my travel trailer for the season. I store the trailer in an area with ruthless sun (altitude: 7200 feet) and wind. I think all covers in this environment perform disappointingly, judging by the experience of others at my storage facility. ADCO's tyvek cover seems to do the best for the money, usually giving me two solid seasons (three, if I am willing to do a little repair work). And covering the trailer according to the instructions can be done as a one-man job without too much difficulty. Makes the whole winterization issue much less intimidating. I don't actually use the included tire (tyre?) guards, as I prefer vinyl covers that I believe will block the sun and reflect heat away from the tires better. Thanks, ADCO and etrailer! 562873

After one year, the cover is hanging in there. Due to my work schedule, it had to keep my travel trailer covered all winter it survived a bomb cyclone that hit the area and most of the summer. It has one small tear that will be easy to fix, then it will go back on for the winter, as soon as I am finished with the trailer for the season.

Review from a similar Adco All-Climate Plus Wind in RV Covers

After one year of heavy snow, wind, rain, summer heat and sunshine, cover has no tears, is waterproof and is really as good as new. Excellent buy, great price. Would recommend to anyone wanting a well made cover. Wheel covers, which are included, are a real bonus. 713842

Review from a similar Adco All-Climate Plus Wind in RV Covers

A little scary at first because when the shipping box came it looked fine but after opening that box, the RV cover box inside looked like it had been dragged behind my truck, then had a elephant sit on it!!! It looked very bad, torn up with clear tape over half of the box! Right away I called the good people at etrailer and they were also concerned about the contents but said to check everything out and if I had a problem with anything, they would stand behind it and take care of it! Well I took inventory on the different components and did a quick look at the cover as best I could rolled up and it looked fine? The next morning I got the trailer set in place, up on stand and gave it a good cleaning. I let everything dry out real good before I rolled it out on the roof and slipped it on. It fit perfect and looked great!!! Wasn't sure how this was going to turn out after seeing the box in that shape but whoever boxed it up must have checked it out quite well and had the confidence it was in A-1 shape for whomever would receive it! Well, I was that person and I'm good with it and very satisfied with my purchase. The only reason i'm giving it a 4 out of 5 is of course because of the way it came to me but etrailer staff stood behind it and said the would make it right if I was dissatisfied in any way! I'm good, Thank you e-trailer... 686925

eTrailer I give 5 stars too. Best price I found on the Internet with quick shipping. This is my second 34813 cover. The first one I purchased used was around 5 years old sealed in the box. Motorhome is covered around 8 months of the year. I got close to three years before the Florida sun took its toll on the cover. Tyvex was starting to get very brittle and top seam came apart. The newer design elements are OK and will probably last through the warranty period. For me its worth the money to keep RV out of sun. Think I'll try silicon seam sealer on top stitching twice a year. 550484

Still holding up good. Think Adco could [] the new cinching straps on the four roof corners and instead fortify the rear bumper corners with an additional layer. This has been the first area to have holes on both covers Ive owned. The stitching has started unraveling near zipper for side door. Still worth having RV covered.

Review from a similar Adco All-Climate Plus Wind in RV Covers

Purchased based on product description and reviews by other purchasers. Price was competitive. I viewed etrailer video and read the instructions that came with the cover. The video was the most instructive. Doubled checked the length of my trailer before unpacking the cover. The cover length was 6 inches longer than my trailer. My wife and I installed the cover and didn’t file for divorce afterwards – it was that easy. The pads that are meant to protect the cover from the rain gutter downspouts had to be taped in place; the draw strings didn’t work too well but no big deal. 548962

a year later the cover looks new and the RV trailer underneath is as dust and dirt free as the day it was born.

Most of it held together, but there were significant tears in parts of the cover. The winds in our area are quite strong at times and it showed. If you don’t live in an area where wind gusts of 60mph occur at times then it will hold up well! 697347

Cover came in mail promptly. Great product, fits perfect. High quality materials and easy to install. Strap system on the cover assures me this will last through anything shy of a hurricane. Has been in use for approx 1month and has been taken off and put back on with ease 3 times since recieving it. Tire covers work great too! I would recommend this cover! 679539

Descent fit, but quality wasn’t as expected. The extra little covers they provide to put over gutters are useless. I now have a hole in each top corner of cover after one season of use. 707476

Adco was just here for training and they told us that they do offer a universal patch option that might work for you. That is available as part # 290-2093
Adco Universal RV Cover Patch Kit - 6 Colors
$25.07
. We have also heard of other customers having success using pool noodles, or foam over their gutters on their RV for additional padding before putting on their cover over the winter.

The cover went on relatively easy, (watch the video clip) I was impressed how secure it was in windy conditions, without flapping. It held up well in year one, just put it on for this winter. Jack 580638

Great product, knowledgeable/very helpful customer service. However, wrong product was shipped resulting us a delay with our move departure date, for waiting on delivery of right product. Very frustrating. 546991

  • Recommended Best 5th Wheel Storage Cover for 2018 Grand Design Reflection 28BH
  • Based on my research the 2018 Grand Design Reflection 28BH is 33 feet 10 inches long. That will make the Adco # 290-34856 for up to 37 foot trailers you mentioned slightly long and not the best fit. I instead recommend the Adco RV Cover w/ Tyre Gards for 5th Wheel Trailer - All-Climate + Wind - Tyvek - 34' Long # 290-34855 will be the best fit for your trailer. It will have the same benefits but will be a better fit so it will work well and not require securing extra fabric to reduce...

  • Cover Recommendation for a 2001 Carriage Carri-Lite 5th Wheel Trailer
  • Camco UltraGuard 5th Wheel Cover # CAM45756 is long enough and wide enough for your 5th wheel trailer but there are covers that will be a better fit and not leave you with so much slack to deal with. I recommend the Adco cover # 290-34855. It measures 34-1/2 feet long, 108 inches wide, and is 126 inches tall. It is good for wind, high sun exposure, and moisture (among other things) which you will probably experience at some point in Texas. We also have the Adco AquaShed cover # 290-52255....

  • Which Adco Tyvek Storage Cover Fits 2007 Cougar 276RLS Fifth Wheel
  • We've done some checking on your 2007 Cougar 276RLS model and found that the correct size Adco Tyvek is the part # 290-34853 which is for 26 to 28 foot long fifth wheel campers. It sounds like you measured from the spare to the pin box which is the reason your dimension came up longer. I attached a picture that shows where to measure if you wanted to double check.

  • How to Stop Snow Buildup on RV Roof with Storage Cover
  • I spoke to my contact at Adco Rv about your Adco RV Cover w/ Tyre Gards for 5th Wheel Trailers part # 290-34855 and they informed me that you are going to want to create a tent effect when storing the trailer outside during inclement weather such as snow or heavy rain. The tent effect can be created by purchasing some inflatable beach balls and placing them on the roof under the cover. This is then going to help the rain water and snow slide off the cover and not cause any tension or weak...

  • Recommendation for 5th Wheel Camper Cover for 33 Foot Camper
  • For your fifth wheel trailer I recommend the Adco Tyvek cover. The Tyvek is great for all climates and is designed especially for wind and rain. The roof has a triple layer polypropylene material to bead water but it's also vented to prevent mold and mildew. I've linked a video for you. To fit your 33 foot trailer use part # 290-34855. It also includes a set of Tyre Gard tire covers.

  • Recommended RV Cover to Fit My 1991 Avion 5th Wheel RV
  • The best way to know is to measure your trailer from its nose to the rearmost point. Don't worry about measuring the edge of the pin box but do measure all the way out side of a ladder, if you have one. See the picture. I recommend the Adco Tyvek cover because it's designed to handle all types of climates and includes Tyre Gard tire covers. If your trailer measures 33-1/2 feet use # 290-34855. If it's longer use # 290-34856.
