Video Transcript for Review of Durabilt Chain Binders - Ratchet Chain Binder With Grab Hooks - DU66KR

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this Durabilt ratchet chain binder with grab hooks. Now, this ratchet chain binder is equipped with two integrated grab hooks for everyday versatile cargo control. A heavy duty ratchet binder like this is built for contractors, haulers, and drivers who need versatile gear and to secure their heavy loads of all kinds. This does have a safe working load limit of 13,000 pounds. And let me go ahead and give you the measurement of our handle first.

So I'm gonna go ahead and lay this down here and then I'm gonna give you an overhead view there first. Hopefully, I'm not making you too dizzy there. So measuring from the bottom to the top of our handle, we're sitting right about 15-1/2 inches. So this handle is obviously going to give you that leverage to add or reduce tension via the dual function manual paw lever. So that's gonna allow you to change the direction of ratcheting as you can see there.

And this is easy to use and it's a safer alternative to the lever binder models that can have secure recoil or severe recoil rather. The zinc-plated forged steel grab hooks, these measure 5/8 of an inch. And these are actually, as we have engraved here on the other side, these are gonna work with, it looks like 1/2 to 5/8 of an inch chain links. But these are zinc-plated, they're rated for up to G80 chain use. And these grab hooks have a flat throat shape that's gonna securely attach to your chains.

And so I'm gonna make sure I have these fully retracted, looks like I do, give you another overhead look, I wanna give you a measurement here, what's called a close length. So with these hooks fully retracted, I'm gonna be measuring inside to inside of the hook, so end to end on the inside, get my tape measure here, see if I can line this up for you, so it looks like we're sitting pretty close to 25-3/4 inches on the inside to inside, about that. So again, it depends on the angle and how far stretched out you have these as well. So again, inside to inside, yeah, about 25-3/4. And then the open length when these are fully extended is gonna be about 33-3/4 inches.

This has a take-up of eight inches. The barrel length, it's 10 inches as you can see there. This weighs about 16 pounds. So this high-strength forged steel and oversized barrel screw system is gonna handle your heavier loads. Features a rust-resistant powder coat finish that's gonna hold up under regular use. This is gonna meet or exceed the FMCSA 40, CHP, CVSA, WSTDA, and DOT standards. One final note, this is not designed for overhead lifting. These load binders are designed to work as part of a complete tie-down system. The overall capacity depends on the safe working load limit of the chains that you choose, as well as the capacity of the load binders themselves. So the item being tied down must not exceed the combined working load limit of the lowest rated component in your system. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our real quick look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
