Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff at Etrailer.com. Today, we are going to take a look at this Rightline Gear, 40 inches long up to 70 inches long cargo bar with the ratchet handle. Now this ratcheting bar will hold any loose cargo in place during transport, and you can reposition it anywhere in the cargo area of your truck bed, your SUV, your van, or even on your trailer. This will even replace ratchet straps, bungees, and other loose tie-downs. You can see it's a nice heavy-duty silver and black steel construction.
So it won't bend or break, has a nice coated outer bar and a zinc-plated inner bar. It is a very easy installation. We just zoom in here on the handle and we will show you. All you have to do is lift the spring with the lever on the handle, this lever right here, and then you can put it all the way to the very end position that'll unlock it, and then not allow you to move the bar out as far as you need. And then once you get it close to where you need it, then all you need to do is lift up on that lever again, put it in the middle position and that'll allow you to ratchet it into position or tighten it down, move it as far as you need it. And then once you get it all, as far as you need it, move it to all the way to the other end and that'll lock it in position, prevents the bar from loosening or coming loose.
Do you notice on the ends right here They do have these nice rubber coated riveted pads here. That'll protect the sidewalls, prevent the bar from shifting, and you can see when you put it up against something, they have multiple pretty much a foot, any type of position.A few specs on this now. Let me zoom back out. What I'm going to do is put it all the way in. So it's totally retracted.
So at that position, you're going to have one into the other, right at 40 inches for the minimum. And then if we pulled it all the way out and measured it end to end, it'd be 70 inches is the maximum. Now the rubber pad itself that is going to be right at three inches wide and right at about two and five-eighths inches tall. And the weight on this bar is only about three and a half pounds. But again, if I zoom in just to show you what we're talking about here on the handle, right now, it's in the unlocked position. So you can slide your bar freely to whatever position you need, move it into the middle position that allow you to ratchet it.
And then once you get, as far as you need it, put it all the way, the other way and that'll lock it. So it doesn't go anywhere, but that should do it for the review on the Rightline Gear, 40 inches long to 70 inches long cargo bar with the ratchet handle.
