Note: Tie-down chains must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the chains being used. For example, if you are using chains with a WLL of 4,000 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 8,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 chains to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use chains in pairs.

Hello, everybody this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Durabilt ten foot long transport chain with the multiple hooks on each end. They're five sixteenths-thick links, and it has a 4,700 pound working load limit. Now this is a ten foot long transport chain with the integrated hooks, which is ideal for securing a vehicle. The chain will let you secure heavy loads for transport, and they use grade 70 heat treated carbon steel on all these parts, which is very durable. You can see, they do have a nice yellow zinc plating on them to resist corrosion.
Now they do have the large chain hook on this end. And on this end, you can see they have a multiple grab NTJ option, which makes it easy to connect to a variety of anchor points. And it is designed to fit almost every domestic or imported frame hole. This chain is manufactured to NACM CCMTA and department of transportation requirements. A few specs on this.
The total length is ten feet. We mentioned the link thickness is five sixteenths of an inch. Now the grab hook right here- may just zoom in as we talk about the grab hook on this end- is a five sixteenths-inch size grab hook. Right here as a TJ combo hook same way; it's a five sixteenths size. Now the large J hook on the other end, right here, it is a 15 inch long J hook.
Now total weight of this whole chain and the hooks is about fifteen and a half pounds. And again, the safe working load limit on this chain is 4,700 pounds. At one note I do want to mention is tie-down chains must be chosen according to that safe working load limit. In other words, the weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined working load limit of the chains that are being used. So just to give you an example, if you're using chains with a working load limit of say 4,000 pounds each, and you're trying to tie down a load weighing 8,000 pounds, that's going to tell you that you need at least two chains to safely secure that load.
And it is usually recommended that you always use chains in pairs. But that should do it for the review on the durable, ten foot long transport chain with multiple hooks, the five sixteenths size thick links and a 4,700 pound working load limit..
