What's up everybody it's Ajay with etrailer.com Today we're only checking out is Jerry Can Holder that mounts on your spare tire of your Jeep Wrangler. This is from MORryde. This is going to be a short tray that you set the jerry can on there. And it comes with a ratchet strap to tighten it down, that way it stays in place. And you have to have the gas can inside your Jeep, syncing it up if you have the top up, or just have more space for more passengers. Let's check it out.
I mentioned it was a short tray design. That means the walls are just gonna be short here along the ends. If you want maybe more of a higher wall, MORryde does have another one of these that adds about six-inches-high. So if you wanna look at that you can see that on our website too. It's done in a black powder coat steel, so it's nice and sturdy.
I can shake the whole Jeep just from this canister. So you can see there's not much rattling, maybe just the ratchet strap hitting there. That's right on there, that's not even moving. It's not a big deal. That's gonna hold it in place, which is good, 'cause you're going to be off-roading with this on the back.
You don't want it going anywhere. The ratchet strap is included with the tie-down points here, too. You can see there's one here and there's gonna be one in the back as well. Just specifically made for those hooks to get in there like that, so you can ratchet it down. Something else I like about it for convenience, is they left space in between the tire and the jerry can, so you can loosen this up.
And if you don't want it on there anymore you can pull the bolt out and take it off. And it's specifically designed for most NATO style jerry cans that are about five gallons, so that's what this one is. You want some kind of gap in between the sides and the front just to get those hooks in on that ratchet strap. So I'll take that out and let's go over how much space it has. We'll go from front-to-back to be right on seven-inches. And then the side-to-side looks to be right there at 14-inches. So that's the space you're working with here on the inside. Another measurement for ya is just how high these short walls are, they're two-inches-high. I'm pretty impressed with the tray. There's a lot of little things that I really like about it, like being able to remove this. That way you don't have to have it on here all the time if you're not gonna use a gas can or the tie-down points that are built-in on the sides and the front. That way, either way it's sitting, you can get it strapped down. You can even use two ratchet traps if you're that worried about it. Another thing is this mat that sticks in there. Might seem like not that big a deal, but it's going to keep that rattling down from that metal-on-metal. So now that it'll sit on this pad and you won't hear any noise. Overall, I think it's a fine addition to your Jeep. Especially if you're carrying these fuel canisters, these jerry cans around, you don't really wanna be hauling them in your Jeep. You don't wanna be smelling that gasoline if the top's up. Plus, you probably just want more room in there for your passengers or more gear. So it's nice that this is on the outside, kind of out of sight out of mind. You don't have to worry about it. And it's secure, it's not going anywhere. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out. And I hope this helped..
