Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Front Runner Cub Pack cargo box. This is essentially going to be just a small cargo box that you can use on the inside of your vehicle to organize some things or strapped down to the platform that you have on your roof. Let's check it out. So this is going to be the more entry level option from Front Runner. Their Wolf Pack cargo box is going to be the more upgraded version.
Definitely shows it's a little bit nicer and has compatibility with other accessories like mounting brackets. Whereas with this, we're using one of their Stratchit with a set of eye bolts to strap it down. That is going to be less secure than a metal bracket holding it down, but it still does a great job holding this in. The ridges on the sides here are gonna keep that strap from shifting too far. I'm having to put a lot of pressure on it to even get it to move like that.
And especially since we kind of have it nudged up against the lip of our slim line platform here, that's gonna help box it in a little bit more too. So overall, the Stratchit works well, but just know that there's not going to be as many accessories like those dedicated brackets for this one. This has a high density polyethylene construction, which is just a type of plastic, but it's gonna be really durable and approved for year round use. And the way the lid works is sliding latches, one in each corner. So you will have to slide all four of those to remove the lid because there's no hinge system.
Now as the lid slides off, you can hopefully see it kind of just nests over this lip all around the whole border of the box. That's going to prevent water intrusion because there's overlap there and even if water we're to get in, there's small drain holes in the bottom of each corner, inside the box. Now as far as dimensions go on the inside, it's gonna be approximately 10 inches long, 15 inches wide, and then a little over seven inches tall with the lid closed. So just keep that in mind whenever you're thinking about what can fit in here. And just know that the larger size is gonna be a little less limiting.
But if you did have multiple of these, I'll lay the lid down flat there. They do stack on top of each other. We only have one box, so we can't show that super well, but this is designed to fit on top of the lid and kind of nest in. So if you maybe have a stack of these in the back of your vehicle for storage, that'll work great. Or you can just put them side by side with one another on your roof platform because they are very rectangular and they should nest up against the sides of one another very easily. But it's gonna help you keep organized. Any small boxes or bins that you can take on your trips is gonna help keep all of your stuff straight. I know whenever I'm camping, I have to have just some sort of extra space for things like my kitchen equipment, because when I want to cook, I want it to be easy to find my tools, so easy to just keep 'em all in their own container. And same maybe for your tent stakes and a mallet to get them in the ground. You can have those in a separate bin too, and it's just gonna prevent the headache of trying to search for everything if it's all jumbled into one bin or has no organizational system at all. So if you're looking for a simple box to get those things organized, then I think this could be a good fit for you. Thanks for watching.
