Hey everybody, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and we're taking a quick look at the GSI outdoors micro table. This makes a really handy spot for cooking or just doing some work when you're out in the great outdoors. Comes with a handy travel bag to make it easy to transport. And it's pretty easy to open up and get rolling with it. So, I'm going to set this up really quick so you can see how easy that is. It just folds out and then you flip it over and you've got these little posts that are in the spot here.
I'm just going to pull them out from one edge to the other and then they just go inside the hole, going through each of those slats. And this is a completely aluminum construction, so it's going to be really durable, rust-proof. It's also flame resistant and heat resistant. So you can't really use this as a cooking surface or a stove itself, but if you wanted to have a camping stove on the top of it, that would be fine and it should be able to stand that kind of heat just fine. Or if you want to kind of put it next to your fire to keep stuff warm, that should be good.
Kind of use it as like a staging area for your meal prep station, what have you. But that's pretty much all there is to it. Now it's set up, it's ready to go. You have this height, which is about four inches tall. If we flip it over again we've got another little slat for the legs, so you make it a bit taller and now you have that.
So, I think this is a really nice slick little table very sturdy for how easy it is and compact it is to carry. And it should work for just about anything whether you want to play cards or maybe just do some work on your laptop. If you've hiked to the top of the mountain and now you want to do work, cause you're a workaholic. But if you, again, want to use it as a prep station for your meal I think it could be used for all kinds of different stuff. And I'm just looking at these posts because the rods kind of need to sit in the sweet spot the legs kind of lock in place.
So just getting that lined up. But yeah, pretty nice. It feels really nice. It's really lightweight, so it shouldn't weigh down, even if you're hiking up to your spot. Now, is it going to be a great item for a backpacking setup It's kind of up to you. It does weigh about 27 ounces. So, not quite two pounds but that is a pretty good amount of weight for a backpacker. You're always trying to keep your pack pretty light. But it should be good for any kind of RV-ing, camping, car camping that kind of thing. And should just make a great addition to your setup. Especially if you maybe have little ones that you want to have a nice spot for them eat their meal or play or do whatever. This can make a really great addition for that. Now as far as size, well, it's longer than my ruler. The width of the table is about 15 and, let's say about 15 and 3/4 inches long. And then about 11 and a 1/4 inch deep. Again, height here it stands about six inches tall. Whenever we had it folded down to the other configuration it's about four inches tall. Whenever it folds up it's going to be even smaller than that. It takes up less than a cubic foot. So, I'm just going to fold it in again, pull those rods out, put them in our little stash spot here. It's just like a little clip. So you can either push it in place here. It's actually kind of easier to just slide it in place rather than like bringing it over to the side and pushing it in. If that makes sense. Do the same thing with this guy. And then you just kind of accordion it up. And then one side, since it's an uneven amount of slats, we'll just kind of go on the side there. So now, the width that we're looking at is about three and a 1/2 inches and again, 15 and 3/4. If we put it the other way, it's about, if my ruler will cooperate with me, I'm going to say two and a 1/2. So very compact. Again, it comes with the little stuff sack to stash it away in your pack or in your car. It is covered by a limited lifetime warranty. It can handle up to 20 pounds. So pretty good amount of weight, not really great for a stepstool or a seat, but should be great for any kind of those activities that I already mentioned. So, I hope this video has been helpful in deciding if this is the right piece for you.
