Hi everyone, it's Evie Angeline here at etrailer. And today we are looking at our ATAK Mini Lantern, which is a mini lantern with high, low, and strobe settings here at etrailer. This is a good supplementary lantern for your hiking, outdoor, car camping setups. We have it here inside of our vehicle. So if you wanna go car camping, you can add this to your gear, to add that little extra light. This has 220 lumens.
We have it on the brightest setting right now. And you can see that even though it is at its highest setting, it has a soft box around it, giving it more of a soft feel to the light, which is nice, especially maybe if you're in your car or in your tent and you turn this on, it isn't flooding the area and waking everyone up. Let's go through your different settings. Right now, I have it on high. And you just press that button, this is low.
And the other setting is strobe. Now the strobe setting is helpful, especially in emergency situations because as you can see here, it's on the ground and it's flashing maybe providing awareness in situation or asking for help, or just showing that you are there. The lantern itself is nice, lightweight, and compact. What I like about that is then it comes with a hook as was a carabiner. I would use it to like attach to my hiking packs that way especially on the low setting I don't have to worry about visibility at night.
It helps when I do travel or hike at night letting all my friends know where I am. These come with three AA batteries. And at full charge on the highest mode, these are gonna last for nine hours. And on the low mode, it's gonna last for 19 hours. I highly recommend picking up your own set of AA batteries.
That way, you know, you are at full charge and you get the most life out of your lantern. The batteries are going to be on the bottom. To access them, just twist that bottom, and the cap pops off. The lantern is made of ABS plastic which gives it, its light compact feel, as well as, its IPX for water resistance. That means you can bring this out hiking. And even if it rains a little bit on you, you're good to go. Just don't submerge it inside a lake or a river or a lot of water. This has a SMD style, LED light inside, and what that means is that's a step up or the latest technology when it comes to LED technology. This is going to last you a little bit longer and it's a bit brighter compared to the old fashion LED lights. My final thoughts about this lantern is, I think it's a great supplement to your existing setup. I don't think it works as well as just a lantern on its own. I would recommend using a larger flashlight for when you do go on trips but as something that I would attach to my bag just to keep me safe and visible on the trail. This would be a good option for me since it is so lightweight, as well as affordable. I again, recommend picking up, let's say a Goal Zero lantern with a solar panel because that's rechargeable, if you want it for longer periods of time. But for something that can just pop some AA batteries in and go onto the trails, this would work out for you. And that was a look here at our ATAK Mini lantern our mini lantern with high, low, and stroke settings here at etrailer..
