Ellen: Hey everybody, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're taking a quick look at the Microlite insulated water bottle from GSI Outdoors. This is a nice way to bring your water with you, or really any kind of beverage that you want to keep at a regulated temperature, so if you want to have some coffee or tea inside here, you can do that as well, and it should keep your hot stuff hot, cold stuff cold, for quite a while. Easiest way to make sure that you get the most out of that is to prep the bottle before, so if you're doing hot stuff, put some hot water in there, let it sit for a few minutes, pour it out, put your stuff in, same thing with cold stuff. The thing that I like about this is that it gives you a flip top lid that's pretty easy to clean. Not really much to it, as far as that, it's just going to be a little tab that you flip up and out of the way, can easily clean that out. There is a little silicone seal on the inside to prevent any kind of spills, and it looks like this is dishwasher safe, so both parts can go in the dishwasher. This one would go on the top rack and this would go wherever it fits in your dishwasher.
Holds about 19 fluid ounces or 570 milliliters, so pretty good amount of water, and it should be a pretty thin wall design. That's where they get the microlite design is that it's lightweight and thin walled, so it's still going to give you that insulating design, but without taking up too much space, so it should fit in any kind of cup holder. It's about three inches in diameter so, again, should fit in just about any kind of vehicle. My Volkswagen has about three inches for the cup holders, which is a little bit on the narrow side, but this should fit in there, no problem. I actually have one of the GSI Microlite bottles and it works really well, so I really like it.It's a little bit bigger than this one, but something I do like about this is that it has a little strap. I'm always carrying five things at once, so being able to hang this off of your finger while you transport stuff is always nice, or you can put it on a carabiner.
A lot of people have carabiners on their keys now, so you can put that on your belt loop or something like that. It is made out of stainless steel, so it should last you a long time. It's covered by a lifetime limited warranty, weighs about nine ounces, and should be pretty easy to use and last you pretty much as long as you want it to. That's pretty much all there is to it for our quick look at the Microlite insulated water bottle. I hope this has been helpful in deciding if this is the right one for you. As I mentioned, we do have some other water bottles from GSI Outdoors, and all kinds of stuff from them and more here at etrailer.com, so be sure to check it out and thanks for watching..

Review from a similar MicroLite in Camping Kitchen
Originally got this from my mom for Christmas bc she has one and loves it. This thermos keeps my coffee HOT and it's light and fits in my backpack, so it's easy to carry on my bike. Great to have for a 430am wake-up and at a freezing outdoor job site at o-dark-thirty. Hot coffee makes it bearable! Only one complaint: the plastic lids are too easy to break if the thermos gets dropped. A metal lid would be a better idea; also, if etrailer could carry replacement lids that would be great. Had to order a whole new thermos because a house guest dropped it and cracked the lid wide open before I had a chance to use it. Ordering a replacement lid from GSI would have taken too long as I needed it ASAP to go out on this COLD job, so I ordered through etrailer bc of faster and cheaper shipping. Will order an extra lid from GSI later so I will have a backup thermos.

I love the product however I receive the smaller version of the micro light for Christmas and due to an accident the lid broke and I haven’t been able to find out if a replacement is available and in the meanwhile I purchased the 24 ounce Microlite to serve in the interim. Please let me know if new leads are available.
