Ellen: Hey, everybody. I'm Ellen here at, and we're taking a quick look at the GSI outdoors pack kitchen set. This is going to be great for anybody who's backpacking, wants to keep ultra-light gear with them. It's going to give you a lot of utensils that'll make it easier to cook up your favorite camp meal wherever you might be. So let's take a closer look at what comes in the kit.The nice thing about it, again, is that it is going to be a pretty lightweight thing, so it weighs less than four ounces for all of this stuff together. You're going to get a couple of little condiment bags and a salt/pepper shaker.

You have two chambers inside here, so you can choose to load both up with salt if you really want to have a lot of salt on there. I personally would probably load them both up with pepper because I love pepper. Do whatever you want, but you have two chambers there to mess with. You've got a camp towel. You can use this as a drying towel. A kind of a, what do you call those A pan holder, pot holder.

And then you also have a little scrub pad, a spatula scraper, and a spoon/ladle. So a lot of utensils that'll be really handy to have around your kitchen while you're camping. You can use these for non-stick cooking ware. Really makes a nice change from any kind of steel or metal utensils that can scratch up your non-stick cookware. And again, pretty lightweight, but still going to be sturdy enough to do what you need to do.So if you're making some eggs, you really can scrape the pan to make sure that you get all the sides there.

Have some little silicone reinforcements here to make it pretty easy to grab onto and feel pretty comfortable as a grip. I also like that there's a little hook on the end of each of those, so if you've got an easy spot you can hang those from, a little edge of the tray or edge of your cook stove set. Maybe you can even hang it off your belt, whatever you want to do there. Just kind of makes it easy so you're not having to try to find a surface to set it down on, which might be limited. So you can actually hang those.Again, here's our shaker.

It comes with a little opening here, so you can moderate how much is coming out, and you can swivel that around to the other side. It also comes with another cap hidden in the bottom there, so you have a wider opening. So if you we're to put it in something that's more like maybe thyme or rosemary or something that requires a larger opening, you have that option. Then just screw the lid back on.Our condiment containers come with two different lids. So it's got a tethered lid here, but then it also comes with a squeeze-top lid that you just thread on there. And I would probably just swap it out for these squeeze-top lids, because I think that they're going to do a better job of not only sealing in whatever you've got inside there, but it also just makes it easier to get whatever you want out. These lids are pretty wide, so maybe if you're putting something thicker or more viscous like mayo or barbecue sauce or something like that, you might want to have the screw-top lids. But if you're using something that's like oil, maybe hot sauce, especially if it's more on the vinegar side, I'd probably just stick with those squeezy bottles or squeezy tops.Scrub pad, pretty self-explanatory. Helps you to scrub up all your stuff. And then, yeah, that camping towel. Use that for a lot of different things. Makes it easy to clean up your gear. A mesh bag to store everything. And that's pretty much all there is to it.I think this, again, makes a really nice set to give you a really gourmet experience while you're out in the great outdoors. You can cook up a wicked meal wherever you might be, and should be a pretty long-lasting gear for you. If you're not going to be backpacking, maybe you're just an RVer, but you really want to save space, this is also nice because it's going to be a very compact kit that's not going to take up a whole lot of drawer space or cabinet space in your RV, and should still give you a lot of options. So that's pretty much it for our look. I hope this has been helpful in deciding if this is the right kit for you. We do have a lot of other GSI gear here at and all kinds of stuff for your outdoor adventures if you're RVing, backpacking and more. So check them out. Thanks for watching.
