Video Transcript for TorkLift Camper Tie-Downs - Turnbuckles - TLS9000 Review

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the torque lift basic spring load turn buckles for camper tie-downs. These turn buckles secure your camper to the tie-downs mounted on your truck. Two additional turn buckles are required to secure all four corners of your camper. The unit features a spring loaded design, which helps to reduce stress on the tie-down points and provides a nice, safe ride. So internally, it features a built-in spring, and as you can see here on the picture that's on the box, you can see how it would install. You have the tie-down pulley coming off the truck, the canister or spring-loaded barrel connects to that would include hardware, and you've got the chain that goes up, connects to the turn buckle, and the other end of the turn buckle connects to the tie-down point on the camper itself. When it comes to the construction, we're looking at forged steel, which is very strong and durable.

All the components have protective finishing on it, which keeps them safe from rust and corrosion, and the kit comes with your two spring loaded canisters and the necessary insulation hardware, two heavy-duty hook to hook turn buckles, two 24-inch long chains, and then two quick links. Insulation's pretty simple. You simply bolt each spring loaded barrel onto the tie down and then attach one chain to the eye bolts on the barrel. You can use the quick link if needed, and then hook one end of the turn buckle to the chain, hook the other end of the turn buckle to the anchor on your camper, and then you can manually tighten the turn buckle until the barrel's eye bolts lift one-eighth inch off of the barrel. The product is made in the USA. It is designed for torque lift frame mounted tie downs for truck campers.

The turn buckles feature an adjustable length of nine inches to 13 inches, and this product is also covered with a lifetime warranty. That's gonna do it for today's look at the torque lift basic spring load torque buckles for camper tie downs.

This is the second time I have purchased these. The work as advertised and are 100 times better than just turnbuckles alone. The quality is good and they have not let me down. 345266

I installed them at home, rather than pay the shop several hundred dollars. The installation was straight forward with clear instructions. It took me 2 1/2 hours start to finish for front and rear, the same as quoted by the shop. 307096

5 Stars to etrailer for their usual stellar customer service. I've always had a positive experience in my years of dealing with them. The attention to detail in your web site is so appreciated. The PDF Instructions you posted was a real help since the manufacturer's printed material that came with the kits was not legible due to over inking in the printing process. I did subtract one star from the product simply because I was caught off guard when we picked up our new camper. The supplied chain with the kit did not reach the tie down points between the camper and Torklift frame mount bracket for the front pair of mounts. Luckily, I had a short length of chain and 3 additional split links in the truck with me and was able to "jury-rig" a temporary solution. The rear connections worked as advertised. I realize that this is Torklift's issue, not etrailer's, but I've noted it here for the benefit of others. For the record, the camper mounts were very typical for campers of this size. It was a 2018 Travel Lite 840 SBRX model and our truck is a 2016 Ram 2500HD short bed (6'-5"). Photo IMG_4966 shows this required modification. 612689

An excellent solution for tying down a camper with all the benefits of spring loading without the expense of the upscale FastGun products. They don't take long to hook up at all, and they will protect the warranty on TorkLift tie downs, which require the spring loading. Simple, good quality, and simple to install and tighten. 460849

Just what we were looking for for an older lightweight Northern Lite 6' 10" camper 706128

by:

Seems expensive for what it is, but I think it is worth it for the peace of mind you get when you see them installed. Very sturdy and secures the camper down well. One thing I did notice though is it seems like the bolts should be a little bit longer so there are more threads beyond the end of the nut when installed. 695511

by:

Overall this product works well and easy to install. I do not rate it excellent because as others have stated the chain provided was not long enough. If you have more than 43" between anchor points you will need to extend chain. Also when I called tech support I was put on hold for 10 minutes then prompted to leave a call back number, which I did. I never got a call. 669867

This review is more for the prompt service provided by etrailer.com. I received my product two days after my order with free shipping and in great condition. As for the product, it is complete and exactly what I ordered and much cheaper than other products. This item will also make sure that my Torklift equipment will stay in warranty and still keep my camper ties in good shape. Thanks etrailer. 643456

Carry 2019 Lance 650 on 2018 Ram 3500. It It is extremely tight at the rear tie down points. I thought these would be a better solution for the rear. Purchased a set for the front as well. Haven’t used them yet but I’m confident they will work well. 639836
