Video Transcript for Review of TorkLift Camper Tie-Downs - Ram Truck Bed Camper Rear Tie-Downs - TLR3510

Micheal: Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at the Torklift custom frame mounted camper rear tie-downs. These are going to mount onto the frame of your truck at the rear of your vehicle. It's going to provide attachment points for your camper to be tied down so it can be sturdy. Having it mounted to your frame is going to make it a lot more reliable, extra secure, rather than having it tied to your side bed rails or in the bed of your camper or your truck. So if I we're to make an analogy, I'd say, obviously you feel more secure when you're standing on the bottom rung of the ladder, rather than on the top.

So it's kind of the same principle. The closer you can get to that frame, the more secure your camper is going to be. You're going to get a lot less movement.Having these attached directly to the frame of your truck is going to make your camper a lot more secure. So these are going to be a custom fit, and they're going to work with your 2019 and newer ram 2500 and 3500 with the six and a half foot bed or the eight foot bed. As long as you have the Torklift Superhitch Magnum 30 K hitch.

The reason you need that Torklift Magnum hitch is because these are going to attach to the hitch itself on your frame. So you're going to need that hitch on your ram to ensure that these will work for you, but once you get these installed, they are going to do a great job. As I was saying, because they are mounted onto your truck's frame, it's going to make that the camper less top heavy. So you're going to get less movement. These are really nice too, because they have the ability to be disconnected. So this portion up here is always going to be mounted on your truck's frame, but when you're not putting your camper in your truck bed, you can easily take out this arm here.

So this is going to sit where it's really not going to be a noticeable. Won't be able to see it. It'll be down under the body. Really won't notice it at all. It won't take away from the look of your truck, but then when you are ready to put your camper in, you can just simply insert this arm.

It's got a little pin here, it does have two different length settings, so right now it's in the longer of the two, sorry, the shorter of the two.And then you can extend it out to be longer if you have a wider camper that you need a little bit more clearance from your truck body for. So either way, it's going to provide that nice solid attachment point. This is a powder coated steel construction. So it's going to hold up well. That powder coat finish is going to help resist rust and corrosion, and that steel obviously is going to be very strong, durable. So it should last you a nice long time. You're going to get two tie-downs. These are the rear tie-downs. So they're going to sit at the back of your truck. The front tie-downs are sold separately. We do carry them here etrailer.com. You can find them using the part number that you see on the screen there. Those will mount at the front of your truck's bed to give you the front two corners. These will be the rear two corners. This set will include everything you need for these back tie-downs including instructions on how to get them installed. Your tie-down frame brackets and the inserts as well as hardware to get them installed. These are made here in the USA, so you can trust that they are going to live up to our expectations of products that are made here in the US and they do have a lifetime warranty. So if you we're to have any problems with them, you could give us a call. We'd be happy to help you out with that. We always want to make sure that our customers are having a good experience and getting quality products. And I think these are going to be a great quality product for you. I would get these for myself if it fit my vehicle, but I think these are going to do a great job, allowing you to make sure that your camper is held in place properly. So you don't have to worry about it moving around a lot as you're going down the road. That's going to complete our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.

The mounts are everything they were advertised to be. Unfortunately it took etrailer a month to even ship it although they said that it was in stock.

Review from a similar Frame-Mounted Rear in Camper Tie-Downs

My brother installed these and he used air tools. The brackets fit perfectly. The instructions were thorough. They bolted right in and the only delay was the disconnect/reconnect of the e-brake cable to install the driver's side bracket (2019 RAM 3500). After all the parts were laid out, he installed all 4 brackets in an hour. He commented many times on the weight, high quality and PERFECT FIT of these brackets. These are worth the price and made in the USA.

Easy install, very effective way to keep the camper were it's supposed to be. Just bought a new truck and ordered another set for it. As long as I have a bed mounted camper I will be using this tie down system.

Seem like a solid well built product. A bit of a pain to install and the instructions could have been more clear and the manual put together better but overall satisfied.

Review from a similar Frame-Mounted Rear in Camper Tie-Downs

Steve Z at etrailer was sharp and very knowledgeable on the companies product. Steve was able to work with me on getting the proper camper tie downs for my 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 (Item #TLD3107). He told me when they would be arriving and they actually arrived earlier than expected. Great product, install was pretty easy, I had them installed within an hour. This is a very high quality product with heavy duty construction. They provide a secure attachment for tie downs to the truck camper. The instructions provided are adequate, but not great. I Don't normally give recommendations or endorse products, but these I am truly impressed with. Thank you so much Steve and etrailer.

Review from a similar Frame-Mounted Rear in Camper Tie-Downs

I bought this when my previous belly bar and rear tie-down bent badly when our truck slid off the road into a steep ditch and our camper nearly tipped sideways off our truck. This product is a bit better then my old set up, but I expected something much better for this very high price. It wasn't too tough to install, despite the poorly written instructions. Also, the kit did not include a bolt fisher for the 7/16 bolt. The bolt fisher supplied was for a 1/2 inch bolt. Fortunately I had the correct bolt fisher from a previous project. I am also disappointed that the tie down hole has a slot cut in it which seems would significantly weaken it. I am not optimistic that the tie-down point will not bend or break if we have a similar significant side load such as when we slid into the ditch. I will probably weld the slot in the tie-down point shut to strengthen it.

Ram 1500 install, make sure to remove any burrs inside round end before inserting the crimped end of the receiver. One side was really tight and I couldn’t get it back out to remove the burrs. Used a steel clamp to get it to go in far enough. No fun.

Review from a similar Frame-Mounted Rear in Camper Tie-Downs

I ordered the TorkLift Rear frame mount tie downs for our Ford f 350 so we could secure our Lance truck camper to our truck, E-Trailer was great my tie downs arrived two days earlier then expected so I opened the box and checked everything over just to make sure everything was in great shape and everything was so I decided to put them on and it only took me five to ten minutes for both .These tie downs make it very easy to secure our Lance truck camper to our truck and also make it very safe to travel on the highways and back roads

I would recommend these to anyone tying down a camper on a pickup. Bolts directly to frame and makes load ride so much better than other types of tie downs. Takes a little video time to get the mounting down but it’s included on their website and after completing one the others are easier. Very happy with purchase

Easy to install and super secure! Made my Lance 1020 feel like its part of my truck. Highly recommended for the juggernaut class truck campers. I’ll never go back to the stake pocket style or bed mount tie downs again.

Installed on 2020 F250 Superduty. Easy to install rear tie downs only took about 45 minutes. I love the fact there is no drilling or moving existing things. Just straight bolt on and seem to be rock solid.

Installed on 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD. Excellent powder coating. Super wrapping and boxing. Super fast delivery. Just the best hardware, exact amounts. First rate fish wires. The rear spring perch is more narrow inside than the length of the bolt. Shear panic when I sent in the first one thinking I couldn't it to stand up. No problem, it comes in at an angle hardware and all. Other side just as easy. Rock solid superior application. Less than an hour for both. Worth every penny for the fit up.

Okay, so there's a lot to get to here, starting with the fact that since you need an extension, you will also need to add a TorkLift hitch and weight distribution system. The reason for that is, standard extenders don't have the capacity needed for you to tow, but you can do this if you add the TorkLift hitch and extenders. The only thing I can't tell you is the length you need as that's something you'll have to measure for. But there are a variety of lengths available. For your 2019...
