Video Transcript for TorkLift Rear Frame-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs Review

Speaker 1: Today, we're going to be taking a look at TorkLift's line of Custom Frame-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs. This is for the rear. You'll want to check etrailer.com's fit guide to verify which ones are going to work with your vehicle. They're also available for the front. So, you can get a matching set custom made for your application. These custom mounted brackets are going to provide an easy attachment point to hook up your camper. What's additionally great about those is that they have the removable ends, so when you're not using it, they'll be hidden away and your vehicle will look like factory. The custom mounted brackets we're engineered to provide you with the best location for your tie-down point, to evenly distribute the load. So once they're attached and adjusted, this'll keep your camper from being too top heavy. This will increase the overall ride quality while your camper's attached and the safety. The attachment points are removable and adjustable.

There'll be two loops here where you can make your connection to your camper and there's two holes here to adjust the length of how far your attachment point sticks out.You can use either hole. So if you have very wide camper, you can use that first hole, or if your camper is tucked in nicer, you can use the second hole. The included pin will slide through the hole and keep it in place. It's made of a durable powder coated steel, so it's going to be extra strong and rigid, to keep your camper tied down nice and snug and the powder coat is going to prevent any rust and corrosion from occurring. When you're ready to hook up to your new connection point, take your turnbuckles and attach them to your camper. Now, if you need some turnbuckles, you can pick some up here on our website. You'll hook it in to your camper and you'll also hook it in down here on your new attachment point. Then, depending on your style of turnbuckle, you'll want to tighten it down.

Ours is a twist adjustment type. There are many different styles. And now with both sides in place, we'll repeat that same process in the front.Compared to Stake Pocket, or bumper-mounted camper tie-downs, frame-mounted tie-downs will provide better handling. They also mount out of sight, so they will be undetectable when not in use, giving your truck a cleaner look.Because the custom fit brackets secure tight against your trucks frame, there is no loss of ground clearance; and that completes our look at TorkLift's line of Custom Frame-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs for the rear.

I ordered the TorkLift Rear frame mount tie downs for our Ford f 350 so we could secure our Lance truck camper to our truck, E-Trailer was great my tie downs arrived two days earlier then expected so I opened the box and checked everything over just to make sure everything was in great shape and everything was so I decided to put them on and it only took me five to ten minutes for both .These tie downs make it very easy to secure our Lance truck camper to our truck and also make it very safe to travel on the highways and back roads

TorkLift Custom Frame-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs - Rear are mounted to my Torklift 20K hitch, easy to mount, worked flawlessly to hold down our camper. Only issue is the bolts that came with the 20K hitch for the tubes are to short for the tubes and hitch you must use the extra bolts (2" grade 8) that come with the hitch.

Comments
Hi Scott, hey how big is the flange that bolts on to your hitch?
-- comment by: tim - 04/16/2015

Comments
The flange on the 20K is 6x6 3/8 thick the tube for the camper tie down mounts to the 6x6 flange

Pricey but very confident that it will last me for many years of safe travel.

I've had these tie downs for a year now and they are still great. I'm using them on a custom installation so while I can't speak about fitment for your camper or truck; they still look great. They've been in mud and salt and still look great when hosed off. Torklift obviously does great powder coating. Mine are on an earlier truck (1981 K3500 dually) and while I modified my frame and Torklifts hitch in the truck build, the tie downs themselves are unmodified and went on super easy. I don't remove the outer post when not using the camper as they're not in the way ( maybe on a single wheel truck they would be). And I haven't heard them rattling, but mine isn't a quiet a truck. Wish Torklift made a good front mount solution too. My belly bar isn't as elegant as Torklifts mounts.

Mounted at the same time I installed TFL1002 Super Duty trailer hitch. Simple install and construction of tie downs are heavy duty. Much stronger than anything mounted to the rear bumper (happijack mounts). Extensions slide right in and are secured with pin and clip. When removed they are barely noticeable looking at the truck from the side view.

Super fast FREE shipping! Easy installation! Much cheaper purchasing through etrailer than any trailer supply shops near my home! I’m a local business supporter but the speed of shipping and price was to good to pass up!

Phone tech support was right on with hooking me up with the proper hitch and camper tie-downs for my application. Pricey of the TorkLift hitch, camper tie downs, and 2' double extended tow bar. Upside these are quality products that are made to do the job. Thanks to all tech support for their help!

The Torklift receiver hitch and system for securing a slide in camper is a great product.

I installed a Superhitch 20k on my truck and realized that my existing truck camper tiedowns would not work with the new hitch. Found a set on etrailer.com and placed the order. The new tiedowns arrived 2 days later and were installed with no problems at all and we are ready to head out on our first trip of this year. Thanks etrailer.

Works great. Wouldn't buy anything else

Torklift was recommended by several dealers and services departments not to mention the reviews on the web. So we gave it a try being new to the RV scene. Instructions were great, called Torklift customer support twice and they were right on in their instructions. Was successful in installing myself, took a couple hours, next time, way sooner. Will recommend to friends and family.

Shipped to Alaska with reasonable rates. Product was shipped out within 24 hours of order and arrived 2-3 days later. Boxes were well prepared for a long journey and arrived in excellent condition. Product prices were also as good or better than other sites I could find. I have yet to install what ordered, and if anything changes I will update this review. So far I will be ordering from this company again. Many thanks for the great service.

There are no problems with this item. It was shipped with two other small items that had a good chance of being damaged since this item is so heavy. I highly recommend that etrailer package small items separately.

- TLR3503
by:

great for a very heavy camper

- TLR3503
by:

Although expensive, the quality can't be beaten. Installation is straight forward and simple. The only thing I will be doing on my own is adding an additional hole in each of the brackets that insert into the tube. This will allow me to recess the bracket all the way in and secure it.

- TLR3503
by:

These are quality built and go on easy.

- TLR3503

A little spendy, but they are great quality and work great. They're the fastest easiest camper hold downs I've seen.

The TorkLift Tie-Downs # TLF2012 and # TLR3503 are correct for your 2015 Ford F-350 Super Duty with the SuperHitch Original # TLF1002 as long as it's a short bed and you don't have a board or step that runs under the truck bed. These tie-downs actually install directly to the trailer hitch so you'll need to install the hitch first, and then the tie-downs. • Class V Trailer Hitch Receiver For 2005 Dodge Ram 3500 With TorkLift Tie Downs
I recommend the TorkLift SuperHitch Magnum Trailer Hitch Receiver # TLD1102-30. The TorkLift hitch will allow you a bolt on installation with no drilling required. The TorkLift Custom Frame-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs # TLR3503 will bolt onto your new hitch since your TorkLift # TLD3109 will no longer fit your truck.
