A Safe Ride is a Comfortable Ride

If you're looking for the best tie-downs for your camper, frame-mounted is the way to go. The frame is the most solid part of your entire vehicle, so it just makes sense to attach your camper to something that's not going to warp, bend, or twist. Even more importantly, the camper's center of gravity will sit lower and its weight will be spread across the entire bed. This avoids a top-heavy load perched on top of your bed rails that's liable to sway and get pushed around by crosswinds. The camper's not going to shift or slide around while you drive; it's going to stay put, and your truck is going to handle just like it does without a camper.

Quick Tip: If you have a plastic or spray-in bed liner, it's important that you use a rubber mat under the camper to eliminate any sliding or bouncing.

Don't Ruin Your Truck's Looks

how will tork lift tie downs look on my truck

Frame-mounted tie-downs are also a great pick for preserving your truck's good looks. The brackets install on the frame, tucked nearly flush with the underside of the vehicle. Remove the arms from the brackets when you're not hauling your camper, and the brackets will be barely visible.

Custom Fit, No-Drill Installation

Completely custom to your vehicle, the tie-downs attach to exisiting holes in your frame so that there's little to no drilling and no need for any modifications. Because they're custom, you'll want to use our in-house application guide to make sure you get the exact right model. The tie-downs you need might be different depending on what type of hitch or other accessories you have.

how to find the right tie down for my truck - custom camper tiedown

Securing Your Camper

TorkLift Tie Down Example

Once the tie-downs are installed, use a set of turnbuckles (sold separately) to secure the camper to the tie-downs. The shank on each arm has 2 pin holes so you can choose how far out they extend, that way the turnbuckles can reach the anchors on your camper without making contact with your truck. Tighten the turnbuckles to the correct level of tension (not too tight!).

where to put camper tie downs

Make sure the anchor points are offset from the tie-downs instead of lined up with them so that they will hold your camper from multiple angles. This is important for keeping your camper from shifting. Two holes in the attachment plate of the tie-downs let you find the best angle for you camper anchors.

TorkLift Camper Tie-Downs - Custom Frame Mount - Rear - TLR3503

Average Customer Rating:  4.7 out of 5 stars   (1355 Customer Reviews)

Get the safest and most comfortable ride while hauling your camper with tie-downs that mount on the frame of your pickup. Great for your truck's looks: remove the arms from the brackets and you'll hardly know that the brackets are there.

I ordered the TorkLift Rear frame mount tie downs for our Ford f 350 so we could secure our Lance truck camper to our truck, E-Trailer was great my tie downs arrived two days earlier then expected so I opened the box and checked everything over just to make sure everything was in great shape and everything was so I decided to put them on and it only took me five to ten minutes for both .These tie downs make it very easy to secure our Lance truck camper to our truck and also make it very safe to travel on the highways and back roads

by:

These tiedowns were very simple to install on the end of the Torklift superHitch. If you're hauling a camper, they are a must have item. Very easy to remove when not hauling, and has a clean look.

by:

Sarah Is a FANTASTIC Sales Person !! I had to return a product and she had the new part shipped the next day so I would have it in time for our vacation. She RULES !!!!!

by:

So far it's great!! It took me and my buddy about 90 minutes to take off the old hitch on my 2006 Chevy 3500 dually!!! We timed ourselves! It wasn't complicated. We used a floor jack to lift the new hitch into place. All bolt holes matched perfectly. You definitely should use two people to install this thing because if it gets away from you may need to replace some fingers. It's just a heavy piece of equipment. Installing it myself saved me about $600 over having someone else install!!

by:

TorkLift Custom Frame-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs - Rear are mounted to my Torklift 20K hitch, easy to mount, worked flawlessly to hold down our camper.
Only issue is the bolts that came with the 20K hitch for the tubes are to short for the tubes and hitch you must use the extra bolts (2" grade 8) that come with the hitch.

Tim

Hi Scott, hey how big is the flange that bolts on to your hitch?

Scott

5/8/2015

The flange on the 20K is 6x6 3/8 thick the tube for the camper tie down mounts to the 6x6 flange

by:

Haven't installed it yet, but looks like a perfect fit. Also looks like an easy install very pleased with the product and service.

by:

I've had these tie downs for a year now and they are still great. I'm using them on a custom installation so while I can't speak about fitment for your camper or truck; they still look great. They've been in mud and salt and still look great when hosed off. Torklift obviously does great powder coating. Mine are on an earlier truck (1981 K3500 dually) and while I modified my frame and Torklifts hitch in the truck build, the tie downs themselves are unmodified and went on super easy. I don't remove the outer post when not using the camper as they're not in the way ( maybe on a single wheel truck they would be). And I haven't heard them rattling, but mine isn't a quiet a truck. Wish Torklift made a good front mount solution too. My belly bar isn't as elegant as Torklifts mounts.

by:

Super fast FREE shipping! Easy installation! Much cheaper purchasing through etrailer than any trailer supply shops near my home! I’m a local business supporter but the speed of shipping and price was to good to pass up!

by:

Mounted at the same time I installed TFL1002 Super Duty trailer hitch. Simple install and construction of tie downs are heavy duty. Much stronger than anything mounted to the rear bumper (happijack mounts).

Extensions slide right in and are secured with pin and clip. When removed they are barely noticeable looking at the truck from the side view.

by:

Work quickly/perfectly to hold my camper down and love that they can easily be removed to make it look like they were never there!

by:

Phone tech support was right on with hooking me up with the proper hitch and camper tie-downs for my application. Pricey of the TorkLift hitch, camper tie downs, and 2' double extended tow bar. Upside these are quality products that are made to do the job. Thanks to all tech support for their help!

by:

Received quickly but the box was showing signs that a struggle had taken place and the box lost. Upon opening the boxes I found that several pieces from the installation kit were missing, I called and an entire new installation kit was quickly shipped to me. Installation was easy and I have been very happy with the customer service.

by:

Torklift was recommended by several dealers and services departments not to mention the reviews on the web. So we gave it a try being new to the RV scene. Instructions were great, called Torklift customer support twice and they were right on in their instructions. Was successful in installing myself, took a couple hours, next time, way sooner. Will recommend to friends and family.

by:

This are built well and very stout. They are a bit sloppy once slid inside the the super hitch and may end up rattling. Install on the super hitch is 2 bolts and bam..youre done. These are overpriced IMO.

by:

I got the wrong part they sent me ra number and got the right super hitch shipped right away. Great customer service and would do it again because the have the best products.

by:

We never give reviews but we had the best experience from start to finish. Ordering was easy, customer service was awesome which you rarely find anymore, we received it sooner than we thought we would and it was the best price that we found.... Thank you etrailer.com

by:

The Torklift receiver hitch and system for securing a slide in camper is a great product.

by:

I installed a Superhitch 20k on my truck and realized that my existing truck camper tiedowns would not work with the new hitch. Found a set on etrailer.com and placed the order. The new tiedowns arrived 2 days later and were installed with no problems at all and we are ready to head out on our first trip of this year. Thanks etrailer.

by:

These are hands down the best way to do tie downs in a truck camper. Nothing beats security of going down the road knowing you can trust your gear!

by:

A little spendy, but they are great quality and work great. They're the fastest easiest camper hold downs I've seen.

by:

Although expensive, the quality can't be beaten. Installation is straight forward and simple. The only thing I will be doing on my own is adding an additional hole in each of the brackets that insert into the tube. This will allow me to recess the bracket all the way in and secure it.

by:

See my SuperHitch 20K original review. Great products and eTrailer is the best to order from

by:

There are no problems with this item. It was shipped with two other small items that had a good chance of being damaged since this item is so heavy. I highly recommend that etrailer package small items separately.

by:

Delivered in good shape

by:

Fast shipping. Good price. Easy instal lation.

  • Does Curt Hitch C15809 Fit w/Same Torklift Rear Camper Tie-Downs as Factory Hitch on 2003 Ram 3500
For your 2003 Dodge Ram 3500 long bed dually with the factory installed trailer hitch you are likely using rear camper tie-downs # TLD3109. If you switch to a non-Torklift aftermarket trailer hitch you would need to use # TLR3500 for the rear tie-downs. This will be the case for any non-Torklift aftermarket hitch. If you did go with a Torklift aftermarket hitch such as # TLD1102 or # TLD1102-30 then you would still need different rear tie-downs, # TLR3503.
