Today we're going to take a look at the TorkLift custom front frame mounted camper tie downs. Now these are a custom fit part. They are designed to fit the 2019 Ram 3500 crew cab with the eight foot bed and with the board or the step underneath the truck bed. And on a custom fit part like this I always like to recommend for you to go to our website use the fit guide, put in your year model vehicle, and it'll show if this will work for application. Now these tie-downs provide the attachment points at the front of your truck for securing your bed mounted camper to your vehicle. We do also sell the rear tie-downs.
They are sold separately on our website. This will offer two holes right here in these tie-down inserts and that allows you to connect your turnbuckles from your camper to your truck and not interfere with anything on your vehicle. Also, if you notice on the inserts, let me take the pin out to show you, when you slide them out you'll notice they have two adjustment holes on the inserts right here for different depths. So it allows you for different width campers. So, when you do insert these if you put it in the first one it'll put it out more. If you put in the second one it brings it closer to the vehicle.
And put a pin back through there. Now with these tie downs you can feel dramatic improvement with the vehicle handling and the stability and it's the safest way to haul a truck camper. It prevents vehicle sway and camper movement in all directions. You can haul your truck camper confidently by attaching these tie downs to the strongest part of your truck which is the frame. Vehicle manufacturers do recommend that all full height sliding camper bodies should be directly attached to the vehicle frame structure. The frame mounted design ensures excellent handling by securing your camper to the truck's base instead of just its truck bed and that'll better distribute the weight to keep the setup from being too top heavy.
It also helps avoid any bed and bumper damage that's common with other tie-down systems. This is a fast no drill installation. Securing your trucks camper to the truck maintains the value of your truck and prevents rust and bed damage by avoiding drilling into your truck bed or bumper. And as I mentioned it's custom fit for your vehicle. It comes with a driver's side and a passenger side bracket. And these brackets here will mount tight to the truck frame so there's no loss of any ground clearance so it's perfect if you do any off road truck camping.
And once these are installed and if you take your inserts out they are virtually undetectable when they're not in use.As I mentioned these inserts can be easily removed as I showed you earlier if you just . I opened the pin right here and then slide your insert out and once your insert's out these mounting brackets would be underneath the truck you wouldn't even see them. The hidden design will return your truck to its original look. And then when you go to use them just slide it in, put it to the correct hole you need, slide your pin right back through, and then clip it right into place and you're all ready to go. These are steel construction, they have a nice black powder coat finish on them for durability. It does include everything shown here on the table. The two front tie-down inserts, the frame brackets, these mounting brackets, all the necessary hardware, and even a nice installation guide that'll describe how everything installs. And these parts are made in the USA. But that should do it for the review on the TorkLift custom front frame mounted camper tie downs.

Ready your truck to haul a camper with these sturdy tie-downs. Inserts slide into frame-mounted brackets for use and easily remove for a clean, unobtrusive look. Custom designed for your vehicle. The strength and quality are pretty good but there are already spots showing a bit of rust after just one year of use. Wish the aluminum had been in stock.
Did not fit properly, welded some scrap metal on frame attachment bracket to fix. When bolted to rear cab mount frame attachment bracket was a poor fit.
No instructions and have to remove emergency brake cables for install…going to a shop now…gggrrrrr
I've been installing TorkLift tiedowns on my previous Super Duty pickups for 20 years. I now have a new one ton Ram and I wanted to get another set of Torklifts because they're the best tie down system there is. The earlier ones required drilling holes in the frame; it wasn't a big deal, it's just how they were made. But man, these new ones! First of all, they're BEEFY. Much heavier than the older ones. And they're not painted; these are powder coated and look very nice. Installation using the existing factory mounts and holes is sure better than drilling. The only issue was the parking brake cable, which has to come off. It was a bit of a pain. I needed a much deeper 1/2" socket than anything I had in order to back off the adjusting nut... so I used a little redneck technology by inserting a larger socket over the 1/2" deep socket and just taping the heck out of it to hold them together. Go ahead and laugh but it worked. One thing's for sure--- my big Lance camper ain't coming off with THESE beasts holding it on. And the only way to keep your camper in place and NOT risk damaging the bed is by anchoring it to the frame. And these are MADE IN AMERICA. They're not some inferior, light gauge steel made in you-know-where. Same for the hardware. Expensive? A little, unless you consider it as an investment in making sure your REALLY expensive camper stays put. Five stars... unless I can give them six.
This frame mounted camper tiedown was well made and as advertised required no welding. Unfortunately, for the front driver's side of the truck, it required a disassembly and reassembly of the parking brake cable. Taking apart and putting back together the parking brake cable was by far the most difficult part of the job and there was no warning this would be required when purchasing the product. Also, I think there were errors in the torquing requirements some of which were beyond what I could do by hand even with an extension. However this high torque requirement may have been for the back frame mounts not the front. The big advantage of this system is that you can take off the extension that actually connects to the tie down, so nothing is sticking out from the truck when the camper is off.
The instructions were clear and easy to follow. They fit just as described and took 2 hours to install. No holes put Quick shipping to. in pickup and easy to tie camper down. Like that they don't stick out past box when not in use.
Unable to install, all hardware lost in shipping, contacted etrailer and they said they would send me replacement hardware, that was three or four days ago. I have not received any updates about the new parts or if thay have been shopped
These work great. Installing them can be challenging but the directions are pretty straightforward. I recommend this!
These are expensive, but they're built like a tank. Very heavy and solid, but still an easy, straightforward installation. The best part of the package is etrailer's customer service. One of the items in the hardware package was missing, but a quick call resolved the problem right away and the part was shipped out the next day. Good customer service is key to online shopping, and etrailer has nailed it!
Torklift mounts are easy to install and are the only mount that will fit on my 2019 Ram 3500 contrary to what Happijac might tell you. They install to the frame and are out of the way until I put the camper on. The frame extensions are easy to put on and secure the camper without the need to do additional drilling. I"m sold on this system
As Tony would say there GREAT
Good tie downs, functioning well with no problems.
Excellent product and eaay to install
The mounts are everything they were advertised to be. Unfortunately it took etrailer a month to even ship it although they said that it was in stock.
These are excellent tie downs and install easily. My only complaint is that after a year and about 6000 miles, the powder coating is chipping away and I have only been on pavement
I have used Torklift in the past and know the product quality. It was a little confusing figuring out which part number but e-trailer customer support was spot and very prompt. Always a pleasure.
This was an easy installation, even without a lift. Works great.
Everything fit perfectly. Would have been nice to have had the instructions in the package so I didnt have to go find them on the internet though.
Excellent product easy install, excellent communication with etrailer, very pleased.
