Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at these Torklift Custom Front Camper Tie-downs. Now these tie-downs are going to provide the attachment point at the front of your truck bed to secure your truck camper's turnbuckles. You will also need the rear tie-downs. Those are sold separately, but that way you'll have tie-downs in all four corners of your camper to make sure it's gonna be nice and secure. These tie downs are going to be a custom fit, so they will work with your 2020 and newer GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and 3500, with either a factory-installed hitch or the Torklift SuperHitch Magnum 30K Hitch.
So if you have either of those options, or any of those options, this is gonna be fit for you. These brackets are frame-mounted, so they are gonna fit tight to your truck frame, so you're not gonna have to worry about any ground clearance loss. These are going to provide excellent handling because you're gonna be tied down to your truck's frame instead of up on the sides of your bed, where it's gonna be a lot more top-heavy. So this is going to be a really great option for you. They do include detailed instructions and hardware for you to get this all installed.
So, very simple to get these mounted in place. These tie-down inserts here are going to be able to be removed. So this portion is going to remain mounted onto your frame, but you can take these out when you're not using your truck bed camper and then that gives you your factory look back. So instead of having tabs there between your truck bed and your cab that are always there, and kind of an eyesore, this is gonna be virtually undetectable. When you're ready to put them back in, you're gonna have two notches here, so depending on which one you need for the width of your camper, you can either have it at the wider setting there, just pass that pin through once it's lined up, or you can move it in to the narrower setting if you don't quite need that much width.
And then get that snapped in place, and that's gonna give you that nice solid tie-down there. These are constructed of a powder coated steel. So they are gonna be very durable, long-lasting for you. They're also made here in the USA, so you can trust they're made to the high-quality standards we've come to know and trust for products that are made here in the US, and they come with a lifetime warranty as well. So, if you we're to have any issues with them, you're more than welcome to reach out to us here at etrailer.com.
But like I said, you will need the rear turnbuckles as well. Those are sold separately, you can find them here at etrailer.com as well. And once you have all four installed you're gonna have a nice solid base to connect your truck bed camper to, so that you can enjoy your time in your camper, and not have to worry about that connection. So that completes our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..

Ready your truck to haul a camper with these sturdy tie-downs. Inserts slide into frame-mounted brackets for use and easily remove for a clean, unobtrusive look. Custom designed for your vehicle.Keep in mind the parameters of the application these may be different on another vehicle. Camper is a Northern lite 9-6. Vehicle Chevy 3500 LB SRW 4x4. Post install, in my opinion. I’d feel my comfortable if the ‘FastGun’ tie downs were facing opposing directions. Currently attaching to the designated anchor points all four FG’s angle from the TorkFit anchor point BACK towards the NL camper’s anchor points. This positively prevents the 3600 LB. camper from rearward movement. However FOWARD movement can and has occurred. After a necessary sudden braking event I checked my clearances and discovered that forward movement did occur. About, one inch. My NL slid far enough forward that contact was made between the vehicle and the camper. Realignment was necessary. From an Engineers perspective: the best anchorage would be achieved with the anchoring devices (FastGuns, in my case) installed in opposing directions. In the future I will be placing blocks between the camper and the front of the truck bed to eliminate any forward movement.
Pros:
1. Excellent installation process. No drilling, No welding, No hammering, and no swearing.
2. They tuck up tight; out of site (almost) when the camper is off the truck.
3. They attach to the frame. This makes for a very solid ride experience.
Cons: NONE
Pulls through wires were half inch instead of 7/16 on the front and we're missing let's see a star washer and a half inch washer. One split washer was missing for the half inch and had an extra 7/16 in split washer
I normally like to use the Happijac front tie downs for my camper. They are not available at this time for a 2022 Chevrolet. I had to use the torklift for this truck. They do work and I have no complaints. The only observation would be that you must remove the turn buckle to put fuel in my truck.
etrailer.com is great! They assisted wife and I with ordering the correct camper tie downs and they arrived fast and ready for us to do our part. Torklift also answered some of our questions prior to ordering and installation as well - very friendly and helpful. Read through the Torklift directions a couple of times and began installation. Caution - chase all nuts and bolts with tap and die to ensure smooth and easy threading once these are in place with fish wires and so on. There were some 'catchy' threads on some bolts and without the tap and die chase they would have given us some trouble tightening them down to torque specs. 4 hours to install front and back mounting brackets on a 2020 GMC Sierra 3500 HD Duramax crew cab running boards stop at back of cab. Once installed they look great and are tucked under the box bottom for clean lines and ease of access when needed. Great product and would recommend to anyone looking for this type of setup. PS we are not 'mechanics' yet the installation was still easy - we took our time.
Great product, easy to follow instructions. etrailer was very responsive and helpful the entire purchase. I highly recommended
They work like a champ, and seem to hold my camper just right. My only reservation is they are not quite as convenient as my old tie downs. The new Chevy box, with the built in steps preclude using my old style, permanently attached tie downs. Big disappointment with Chevrolet, not torklift. Chevy also made removing tailgate and elect. connections much more difficult. So much for their "camper" package!
Great kits and instructions made installation straightforward. Kits fit exactly as intended. Already used it to move my truck camper and while I'm a little mystified as to why there are two tie down points on each arm it seems solid.
These were originally on back order but came sooner than originally promised. They installed easily with no drilling on my 2021 Chevy 3500 crew cab dually. The 4 star rating is because they were slightly high and the insert rubbed my fenders. I added a 1/2 spacer between the bed and support arm and put in longer bolts and it worked perfect (I purchased these parts myself). Overall happy with the install.
Photos show the before and after I added the spacer.
Forklift Tiedowns are the best on the market. Was not happy I had to buy a complete set when I upgraded from my 2018 GNC Dually to a 2022 but install was seamless and figment is excellent. These new mounts are more hidden than on my 18. etrailer customer service has always been excellent! Thank you etrailer!
Easy to install however; considering the cost they should include 2 sets (a set for each side) of the bolt fishers. They are difficult to remove from the bolt and easy to destroy when frustration gets the best of you. They also shorted me one grade 8 1/2" nut. Got five 7/16'nuts instead of four, the guy sorting hardware must have been stoned, LOL.
Installed them on my 2020 GMC Sierra 3500HD. Easy to install, function nicely and very well built.
Order both front and back supports for my camper they only shipped one set. Billed me for both set too
Anyone not using these well engineered frame mounted attachment points are using one of lessor quality. This is my 6th set because I change trucks so often. I automatically order a set for all my trucks. These go on in minutes and are built to use existing structure on the truck frame. You will not be disappointed!!
These camper tie downs are beautifully made, fit perfectly, and were easy to install!!! Great product! Also etrailer (Kevin) was very helpful getting me the correct part numbers for my truck. I have nothing but good to say about the etrailer service and the quality of these tie downs.
Easy installation with the great instructions - functions as expected on 2021 GM 3500 DRW.
Called and talked to Greg to verify part numbers.
This is a brand new part to fit 2020 GMC 3500hd
Dually. I had on my door step a couple days later and installed this afternoon.
Very impressed with how stout the tie downs are
Thanks
Installation was easy, love them. Solidly built
Perfect fit! I have a 2021 eagle cap 1165 and had a 2008 lance 1181 both work perfect with tie-downs
Everything fits together nicely and has a great finish to it.
Everything worked just like manual said except there was no need to adjust the exhause hanger at all on my truck. 2021 gmc 3500 denali srw. Also didnt see in instructions about removing the spare tire cable hook on drivers side and discard because the bracket on rear drivers side has the new hooking spot.
Tried to upload some photos to show but not sure they uploaded ok. Got errors while uploading. Thank you.
good quality parts and easy install
Mounts worked great very easy to install. I don’t think that I will use any one else for my camper and towing items!
I was amazed that even during the Christmas season I received the tie downs so quickly. Everything looked great. Installed easy on a cold Detroit day (30 degrees and wind)and the instructions were easy to follow my only concern was I did use the wrong bolt in a couple places and had to unfish the bolt which was a real treat. And I noticed after checking the box and packing paper I don’t have any stickers. For both the front and the back. Not a big deal because I can figure that out but still. Stickers?
Perfect fit for my Silverado 3500hd with no drilling. This is my first set of frame mount tie-downs and I am never going back to the old style. I feel much safer now.
