The HappiJac tie-downs distribute the weight of your camper across the truck's bed to keep the ride comfortable and the camper secure. Holding the camper taut at all four corners and from the front of the bed - as opposed to securing it on top of the bed rails, like a typical bed-mounted system - helps to reduce any front-to-back shifting of your camper during travel. It's designed to make the camper an integrated part of your truck, instead of a heavy load perched on top of it.
The included centering guide locks help you with both loading your camper and keeping it secure. When you back up to load, the locks will nudge the camper into the right spot and make sure it's centered as it slides into your bed. Then they'll essentially hug your camper on each side to hold it snug and keep it from moving. They also put a nice rubber cushion between the truck bed wall and the camper.
When you're not using them, these tie-downs will be pretty subtle. The front anchor plates will poke out an inch or so from between the car and the bed, with the brace sitting on the inside of the bed, against the front wall. You'll be able to see it, but it won't interfere with using your bed for other things. The rear anchors install on the bumper, and when you're not using them, the couplers remove from the anchors with a quick quarter-turn. Small and chrome-plated, these anchor points blend right in.

Very easy to follow directions. More time was spent measuring and rechecking the drill points. I was reluctant to put holes in my truck. But it goes in very clean if you stick to the directions.
Mounted to my truck bed and the fit and finish were very good. All needed parts were present in the package. Once mounted, my camper was very secure.

Purchased these for a 2016 Chevy hd2500. Due to some existing damage to front panel of truck bed, inside plate would not sit flush to bed. With great difficulty, I finally got a bolt started and was able to draw plates together. In retrospect, I should have used a couple of longer bolts to draw the back plate in then replaced them with the provided bolts. Otherwise it was a perfect fit for my vehicle and installation would have been simple had I not had the damage!
Installation was kind of a pain but once its on it is pretty awesome! Hardly noticeable unless you are looking for it. Seems very sturdy.
Very happy with the happy jac camper tie downs. I installed them myself and only needed hand tools and a drill. It is now a very fast operation to load and unload our camper.
