Installation

Clamp Examples

Installing these bed-mounted camper tie-downs is simple. First, attach the T-bolts to the bottom interior portion of each tie-down. Place each tie-down on the rail of your truck so that the straight side faces the interior of your bed and the angled side faces the exterior. Adjust the T-bolts until each tie-down sits square on the rail. Then attach the clamp plates to secure the tie-downs to the rails. To do this, position the clamp plate beneath the lip of the side rail so that the lip is between the plate and the straight side of the tie-down. Then insert a carriage bolt on either side of the setup and tighten the nuts on the bolts until the tie-down is securely clamped onto the lip of your bed side rail.

Securing your Camper

Camper w TieDowns

In order to secure your camper to your truck bed, these tie-downs will need to be used in conjunction with a tie-down hardware package consisting of turnbuckles, S-hooks, and chains (TDHP - sold separately). This hardware attaches to the anchors on your camper and to the tie-downs on your truck to keep your camper secure. Once you tighten the turnbuckles appropriately, you will be ready to haul your camper.

The tied downs work as advertised. Easy to install with all the adjustability needed to properly hold down light weight slide in truck campers.

by:

As always my order arrived early. The box was not in great shape but nothing was lost out the holes. Poor delivery guy could barely get it to the porch. I was surprised at how heavy they are. It took me about half an hour to get them installed. I have a 1995 Dodge Ram 2500. The shape of the inside of the truck was a pain to work around. I couldn't set the front tie downs as far forward as I would have liked, but it will work. Haven't got the camper yet but I'm sure they will be perfect. I have seen these on many pickups here in western Colorado. The installation video made my choice easy ...NO HOLES TO DRILL.

by:

I am so happy with your Angled Hold Downs. Especially how they clamp to the bed of my truck and I didn't have to drill any holes. They do a great job and I have no worries when the girls take it camping for the weekend... I do worry about the safety of my pickup though. hahaha

These tie downs worked great for my Toyota Tundra. I was securing a light weight camper.

by:

Product was easy to install, worked great. It held on some pretty knarly roads.
etrailer is a great company to work with as well.

by:

I had bad white with these. They do not secure safely did not fit my truck properly

by:

Didn’t work on the 2019 GMC 2500 as the brackets cannot go far enough forward nor far enough to the rear. Will be sending back. Wish it would have been noted to the limits before ordering

by:

Just opened today and one of the brackets was bent

Comments
I will certainly have our customer service team reach out to you to have a new bracket sent out.

We really enjoyed these camper tie-downs! They were very easy to install, and makes securing the camper (and other items also) so easy! So glad that we found this product, and the company is also great and helpful!

by:

I really like these tie-downs. They mount easily and are very strong,I have them mounted on a 2018 Ram and carry a 2100 lb overhead camper and they stay put. Nice product.

by:

I have a Sunlight, 8 foot, slide-in truck camper that I now carry in a 2015 Dodge 1500 Quad Cab. I use the Brophy angled tie downs for the front of the camper and Happijac bumper tie down for the rear. It took some tweeking and the right combination of hardware to connect the Brophy tie down to the camper but in the end it all came together and I'm very happy with the results. They are relatively easy to install and make a solid, safe tie down system. I would recommend them to a friend.

by:

Just put on mt 2019 Ram 2500.

by:

It was has been very good So far. We just used it this weekend. I am not sure if this is normal. We traveled 75 miles into a 30 mile head wind causing the camper to slide approximately 1 in backwards Had to lower camper back down reposition camper

Comments
I reached out to my contacts Brophy and the turnbuckles are adjustable so it may be possible for your camper to shift slightly. The stake pocket tie downs should be positioned so that the turnbuckles pull slightly forward. It sounds like you were able to get everything adjusted properly.

by:

Have used these on my pickup camper multiple times now. They are not complicated but a little bit tough to install. A ratcheting wrench helps make install easier. Also make sure to position them where you want them in advance because at least with my pickup camper, once you put it on it is tough to reach these to move them. These are a much cheaper option than the frame mount and seem plenty stable for my pop up pickup camper, not sure about a heavier hard sided.

by:

Great people to deal with . Got product quickly and very good instructions on installation

by:

The products great! the shipping company did a terrible job. The box was totally destroyed and re-taped. Luckily all the components was still inside.

by:

Amazing service and fast shipping. We called looking for the best item to secure our camper to
Our pickup. They knew what would work best and we had it the next day.

by:

Works great

by:

Mounted on a 2012 f250, it works great, but my jacks are on 7’2” wide so I had to put camper 3/4 way on then put the tie downs on, which was a pain to do, because the hold downs on the truck measured 7’4” wide

by:

Just installed my truck bed mounts. I have a 2002 f350 dully with the 7.3 and 4x4. Easy installation (just about 15 minutes) with no help. Mounts are very heavy duty and well made. USA product. I mounted my lance slide on camper 3,600 pounds. The mounts hold great. I took it for a test run and all was well. I’ll be taking it on the beach this weekend and I have no doubt it will be more then stable. Thank you all for building such a great product and especially making it in our great country. God bless.

by:

They work quite well. They seem to be made very well.

by:

I installed the angled camper hold-downs today and it took me all of fifteen minutes. I was impressed at how heavy-duty they are. I am very pleased with the product.

Comments
Well, its been a year since I installed the hold-downs on my truck and I am still very satisfied with them. They have been in use several times and in fact I am leaving next week on a two week hunting trip to Colorado.

  • Recommended Camper Tie-Downs For 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 Truck
The BROPHY Angled Hold-Downs for Truck Bed Campers, part # HSAB should work well for your 2000 Dodge Ram 2500. These tie-downs are not designed to work with trucks with drop-in bed liners, plastic bed rails, side-step beds, and double-wall beds, so if your truck doesn't have any of these features, the # HSAB tie-downs will be what you need.

  • Will Brophy Camper Tie Downs # HSAB Fit 1997 Chevrolet K1500
The Brophy camper tie downs # HSAB are pretty universal and should fit your 1997 Chevy K1500 pretty easily but you might measure the bed rails just to be sure. As long as you have 2 inches of space between the lip of the bed rails and the side of the bed you'd be good. Any drop in style bed liners or plastic bed rail covers would need to be removed or trimmed back. These don't have a specific capacity but Brophy says they will work well with any camper that is not larger than the bed of...

From the tie-down where it will clamp onto the inside of the bed rails to the outermost part of the unit, I measured a distance of right at 11-1/2 inches. • How to Determine if Brophy Clamp On Camper Tie-Downs HSAB Will Fit a 2016 Nissan Titan XD
Brophy does not have a fit list for tie-downs # HSAB so you have to go by how they install. The external bed rail width cannot be more than 5-1/2 inches wide. There will need to be at least 2 inches space under the lip of the bed rail. And they are not compatible with double-wall or step-side beds (this last one I do not believe would apply your 2016 Nissan Titan XD). Another option is custom tie-downs, see link.
