The box arrived pretty beat up. After inspection I only found that a tab that doesn't get used on the motor bracket was broken. Installation of the jacks to the original weld brackets fit well and was reasonably painless. I did have to cut off the edge of both the motor bases to allow new jack legs to set firmly against trailer frame. The left side motor emergency override had to be installed facing rearward because both legs are built identical meaning the weld tabs and pull pin tabs were the same as the right side jack. Not a huge issue for me because I had the room for the left jack to be installed that way. Not a huge speed difference noticed yet but I'm not expecting a whole lot as my trailer is a heavy toyhauler. The thing that I really like is each jack has its own motor unlike the original single motor Atwood system allowing me to level left and right individually and having less chances of failure. I realy didn't want to cut another hole in my trailer so I fabricated a different switch plate for the switches and circuit breakers that fit in the original lockable jack control box. My biggest complaint and disappointment is that the pull pin bracket on both jacks came installed upside down so the open area for the pull pin covering the spring is facing up and a spot for water and grime to collect but, when I recognized that the jacks were already installed and I wasn't going to pull everything apart at that point.

Jacks went in easy using the existing brackets from my single motor jacks. Just had to install a new switch panel ( since these are independently adjustable ) and run an additional power lead since these call for individual power and ground leads for each motor. They are 4 times faster than my original single motor jacks. These claim to raise 9 inches a minute and I believe that's about correct.

The screw jacks fit pretty well in same brackets as Atwood System was in. I had to cut off the edge of the motors bases to allow new jack legs to set firmly against trailer frame. The ONE THING I was disappointed in was the cheap control board that came with the system. It has 4 buttons and two of them are not even secured to the face of the control board. So when you push those two, they just push out the back. Poor

Ask the Experts about this Reese Camper Jacks

  • Determining if Reese Landing Gear RP500708 Could Fit 2006 Cameo by Carriage
The Reese fifth wheel landing gear set part # RP500708 that you referenced most likely does fit your 2006 Cameo by Carriage as it was designed to fit the standard bracket dimensions for fifth wheel landing gear but you can measure to be certain. The sure way to tell is that if the distance between the mounting brackets (underside of top bracket to top of lower bracket) is 17-1/2 inches. If this is the case, the landing gear should fit just fine.

  • Determining If Reese Electric Landing Gear RP500708 Will Fit A 2011 Keystone Avalanche 330RE
The Reese Electric 5th Wheel Landing Gear # RP500708 you were looking at may fit your 2011 Keystone Avalanche 5th Wheel Model 330RE, but the only way to be sure is measure the distance between the weld stops of your current landing gear. The weld stops of the # RP500708 measure 15-1/2" apart inside to inside, and 17-1/2" apart outside to outside as you can see in the included diagram. As long as this matches your current landing gear this would be the correct replacement for you. Having...

Yes the Reese Electric 5th Wheel Landing Gear Set - 36" Lift - 8,000 lbs, # RP500708 will work for your application. It can be used with a trailer that weighs more than 8,000 lbs because it is only supporting a portion of total load, the tires, wheels, and axles are supporting most of the weight. The pin weight of a 5th wheel trailer is approximately 20% of the loaded trailer weight. The measurement from inside of top weld stop to inside of bottom weld stop is15-1/2". The measurement...

  • Can Reese Landing Gear Jacks # RP500708 Install on RV with Shorter Bracket Dimensions
Thanks for the picture of the jacks you have on your 2018 Wildcat 30GT. The distance between your jack mounting brackets is going to be too close for the Reese jacks part # RP500708 to fit directly. Yours will need to be moved out a few inches so that they match up to the jacks. It is interesting that your brackets are that close together. They must have been moved at some point as there is basically an industry standard for this dimension which is what the # RP500708 fits.

  • Will Reese Electric 5th Wheel Landing Gear Replace Lippert Landing Gear Without Requiring Welding
To ensure that the Reese Electric 5th Wheel Landing Gear Set # RP500708 that you referenced will fit your Bighorn 5th wheel without welding you will want to take a quick measurement. The measurement you will want to take is of the weld stops on your existing jacks, and compare the measurements with those of the Bulldog # RP500708. The Reese Electric 5th Wheel Landing Gear Set part # RP500708 will be an excellent option to upgrade the landing gear set on your fifth wheel trailer. The dual motor operation can be controlled independently which will allow you to level the trailer easier on unlevel ground. The dual motor operation is also...
