Smooth, Low-Friction Operation

Typical jack screw systems feature direct contact between the surfaces of the screw and the threaded nut. This constant contact produces a good deal of friction, which not only increases the amount of power necessary to operate the jack but also creates heat within the system. Heat leads to increased wear on the threads, and this wear can ultimately lead to failure.

Husky Brute Ball Bearing Jack Screw System

The Brute is built with ball bearings that roll smoothly along the threads of the screw shaft and the nut, thereby eliminating direct surface-to-surface contact. This produces far less friction along the threads, leading to a reduction in heat and wear, as well as noise. In addition, because much of the friction is eliminated, less power is needed to operate the Brute. This electric jack pulls 30 percent less amperage than jacks with traditional screw systems. The overall result is a jack that can be raised and lowered faster, smoother and more efficiently.

SmartStop Automatic Stop

When a typical trailer jack is extended beyond the recommended height, the threaded nut that creates the up-and-down movement will hit a built-in stop at the top of the shaft - and hit it hard. If you leave the motor running, the nut will continue to apply pressure to this stop as it attempts to rise higher. The result is extreme stress on the gears and on the jack as a whole.

The Husky Brute has an integrated safety feature to combat this problem. The SmartStop timing system ensures that the jack motor shuts off before the nut can hit the built-in stop. No hard mechanical stops. No undue stress on the screw system. And most importantly, no damage to your powered jack.

Video Transcript for Husky Camper Jack - A-Frame Jack - HT87247 Review

Today we're going to review Part Number HT87247. This is the Husky Brute Electric Trailer Jack. It has a dropleg design and is designed for A-frame trailers, has an 18-inch lift, and a 4500-pound weight capacity. This electric jack with the power drive will let you lift and lower your trailer quickly and easily. It does use a low-friction ball screw, which will minimize resistance, helps reduce wear, noise, and heat, and the difference compared to your regular typical screw system, it uses ball bearings, which will roll smoothly through the threads so there's no direct friction-inducing contact. That means there's 30% less power draw than the typical screw systems.

It does have a SmartStop, which is an automatic stop to prevent damage caused by hard stops and excessive pressure. Basically what happens is the motor will shut down before the nut reaches the end of the shaft. What that means is, I'm going to show you once Ihook it up a little bit later here, when you push the toggle switch and you retract it, and you get to the point where it can't go any further, even though your finger is on this switch, it'll stop because of that SmartStop design. If you also notice it has the 3 LEDs. There's one in front, which helps in nighttime hookups to the trailer. It also has one on each side.

The reason they're on the sides is it'll help as far as if you're going to hook up or disconnect your weight distribution system at night also. The very back of the jack, if you'll notice, has a trailer connector storage bracket. This'll guard your trailer wiring from the elements. You can just hang it right up in there to protect it. It does have the drop leg.

The drop leg does have a foot plate which has a diameter of 5 1/2 inches. The drop plate actually can be adjustable up to 6 inches. In other words, if you just pull this clip off, and we turn it here, we'll pull this pin out, you can see that you can adjust the range of the drop leg; about 6 inches is the total amount you can adjust it. Once you get it in the spot, I'mjust going to put it on the lowest one right now, you put the pin and clip back in, you're ready to go. On the inside of this jackit uses stainless steel gears and stainless steel fasteners, which offer maximum durability. This outside is a very sturdy cover.

The switches are a weatherproof switch which will prevent water-related damage to the motor. It does have a nice silver powder-coat finish to help resist corrosion. As you can see, it's a bolt-on installation for A-frame trailers, and it has the 3 holesat the dimensions that are the industry standard for your A-frame trailers. This jack does come with the parts shown here. It comes with this manual override crank that allows you to operate this when you lose power or just need to manually retract it or extend it. You do have to use . It has this brake release lever. I'll show you how that works. It also comes with this 30-amp circuit breaker. Basically, if you'll notice, it has this 6-foot length of 10-gauge power wire. When you install this, you will actually ground when you mount it to your trailer. It'll ground through the trailer itself, so you just have the one power wire. What you would do is you would put this circuit breaker in line when you connect it. One end would go to this wire, the other end to your power source. That way you have a 30-amp circuit breaker. If you overload, to protect this jack, it'll overload, pop that circuit breaker, then once you fix your problem, you can just push that button on top and that'll reset it. I do want to show you the override. In other words, the situation where you lose power or don't have access to power and you've got to manually operate this jack. What you'll want to do is at the very top here, if I can turn it toward you, there's a black rubber plug. You just pull that plug right out. There's an opening there. You'll take this manual crank in the socket end. You just fit that in there. Once you feel around you'll feel it fit right on just like a socket. You have a crank here, but before you can crank it, what you'll need to do is release the brake. The way you do that is you pull this plug off right here on the side. You'll take this little lever, this is the brake release lever; it has this open slot to it. You'll see the lever in there. Just put that inaudible 0:04:22 Inthere and then push it forward and that'll release your brake. That will allow you to crank this to retract it or extend it manually without any power.Put the plugs back in here. Do need to work the plugs a little bit, because they do seal completely. There we go. We'll take the crank out. See if Ican get this plug back in here. It's a tight seal, so sometimes it takes a little working. Yep,there we go. That'll work for now. Okay. We do want to give you a few measurements on this. I am going to hook this up. I have a 12-volt power source here to show you how this'll operate, but I do want to give you some measurements first. I have the jack fully retracted, the footplate all the way at the bottom retracted, so your bracket height is going to be 8 1/2 inches retracted. If you would fully extend this jack out and leave the footplate as it is, retracted, it would give you a total extended height of 26 1/2 inches. The lift on this is 18 inches. If you do use the drop leg adjustment of 6 inches more, that gives you a total of 24 inches total travel; the 18-inch lip, the 6-inch drop leg. If you ended up extending the jack all the way and the drop leg all the way, that would give you a total extension of about 32 1/2 inches. The lift capacity on this jack is 4500 pounds. The tube right here is 2 1/4 inches. This is a 12-volt jack. It does estimate about 10 inches of travel in 38 seconds. It does come with a 1-year warranty. What I want to do is I want to show you, I just want to hook it up to this power source. Ihave a 12-volt power source. There's 12-volt power, but needs to be grounded. Since we don't have this mounted and this paint might not give a good ground, what I'm going to do is ground it to the footplate. I'm going to show you, you can see the lights come on. There's your front light. There's the light on each side; on and off. To operate the jack is this toggle switch right next to the light switch. If we pull up on it, you can see it extending it out. If you let go, it's a toggle switch so it'll stop automatically. If you push it down, you can see it's retracting and you'll notice the SmartStop design right there. Let me show you. I still have my finger on it. Watch, it'll hit andyour finger's still on it, it'll automatically stop it. Very nice feature to protect your jack. That should do it for the review on Part Number HT87247, the Husky Brute Electric Trailer Jack Drop Leg Design for the A-frame trailers. .

I have owned two 20' enclosed trailers that are full of either lawn equipment or construction tools. I have had electric jacks on each of them for several years now that I purchased at a local trailer dealer. One of them recently went out so I purchased an electric jack from etrailer. I never knew that my old jacks was so weak. The new jack installed in minutes and looks a lot better than any of my old ones. I cant wait until my other jack tears up so I can order me another one to replace it. I ordered it on Monday and had it on my trailer on Wednesday. If you are thinking about getting one, don't wait.....you won't be sorry. 161722

This jack was super easy to install. Seems to have great power. Only complaint is the up and down switch is backwards. We had a lippert jack before and I'm not impressed. Kept blowing the fuse and seemed to struggle. 565409

I never write reviews but this electric jack is outstanding! I recently tore some ligaments and dislocated my shoulder which made cranking up my travel trailer painful especially getting it just right to hook up the load leveling hitch. My 4 wheel drive truck is fairly tall so I had to crank it up to get over the hitch then down to lock the hitch then jack it back up to get the leveling bars on. By the time I was done I was sweaty and in pain. After a lot of research I found etrailer, more research and I think I found the perfect electric tongue jack. It was simple to install, it lifts my trailer and truck with ease, it runs smoothly and it is quiet. I could not be happier with the Husky Brute 4500# jack or etrailer service 571310

Installation was quite easy. The circuit breaker seemed too easy to reset as there was no resistance. Several attempts to activate the lift failed. Checked power and 12.5 volts to the motor from a new 12 volt battery. Still will not operate. Will call the manufacturer to determine discuss the issue. 570699

There are a few things that could be causing the problem youre experiencing. Overloading the jack is the most common culprit, but since the jack you purchased has a whopping 4500 lb lift capacity, so I doubt thats the issue. The next likely candidate is a short in the power feed circuit. Make sure the connection at the battery is secure, and that the power feed wire doesnt have any nicks or cuts in it.

Purchased the 4500 unit. Installed in about 1 hour. Fast shipping and unit works great. We have the load leveling system and this should make setup fast and smooth! Note: My LP tanks sit very close to the back of unit. I called the factory and they said just take the five screw out of the back where the electric out can be placed and it comes right off and still water tight. Remounted the electric holder on the side of shaft with zip ties. Awesome! 139265

After installing and wiring up this lift I realized I could not close the rear hatch on my tow vehicle. On top of that the base collar does not allow me to rotate the head of the lift away from the travel of the door to get the hatch closed or open. I tried rotating the jack around but could only find bolt hole openings for 2 bolts instead of the 3 I needed for strength. They should have machined out wider slots to allow more rotation of the base collar over the nut plates to find the bolt holes. I believe they forgot about this problem when they engineered the jack which, by the way, is very impressive and well made. After I figure a way around my problem I am certain I will enjoy this jack as I reviewed many and made it my first choice 433447

Wow what a product!! It is everything that the company has stated. It is a brute of a jack. Very reliable and makes me so glad I purchased it. I became very interested in it when I read about how differently the internal parts were engineered. This one is built to last a long time. Look no further than this one for satisfaction...

She said it's arrived on the due date, I got home 6 days later and just installed it today, it took me longer to find my tools then the installation. if you can't do this install you probably shouldn't be pulling a trailer. I am very happy with the looks. and smooth operation. I installed an ocean pack 10 waterproof bag over it that I had at the house, fit perfect. thanks again. 428723

Love this new Lift! etrailer is the best. Easy order, fast delivery, great installation videos. It was easy to install. I wired it inside the electric brake box and mounted the circuit breaker to the side of the battery box. No splicing of wires. Well made piece of equipment. Love the lights, weather sealed switches AND the trailer connection Hanger w/cover......nice! Worth the money, superior to other types I researched. I'm 63 and tired of hand cranking. My trailer is 19' long and very tall and heavy and this lifts it with ease. This is very quiet also. 433280

Its been a year, and that lift is so dependable, I use it 7 days a week to hook up and unhook my 19 dual axle 10,000 lb. enclosed work trailer. Never fails! So much easier than hand cranking the jack. Its more then worth the money.

Jack still works great, it is rated for 4500 pounds and my trailer is a mobile commercial kitchen with close 8000 pound weight and it handles it without an issue. when its not in use I use 6 ton jacks to support it, but the jack handles the load without an issue. Will definitely recommend this product!

I just installed this jack on our 2014 I-Go just before our latest trip, and it performed great. I was actually hesitant to get an electric jack given the exercise that the manual jack provides, but with the multiple jacking cycles required to hitch and unhitch with our weight-distributing system (plus a forecast for the upper 90's!), I did some research and settled on this particular model. One thing that led me to choose this jack was the simple foot that can be quickly and easily positioned for jacking or stowage. On a recent trip, our campsite was below the campground road, and I almost had the manual jack in the fully retracted position to get the trailer leveled when it was parked where required. Some of the jacks that have the self-folding foot couldn't have readily accommodated this particular situation, so I chose this model in the rare event that I am ever forced to use the jack without the foot in place. Even with some extra effort to route and shroud the single +12 VDC power lead for reliability, it was really easy to install and I was finished in less than two hours even though I was working in the sun on a really hot driveway. My wife originally thought that this was a bit of a "luxury" item, but after she saw how fast it allowed me to unhitch and later re-hitch the trailer, she's now almost as big a fan of it as I am! 211176

Comments

Id definitely recommend this unit to anyone whos considering the purchase of a powered hitch jack. It has worked flawlessly since I installed it over a year ago, and I continue to be amazed at how it simplifies and speeds up the process of hitching and unhitching the trailer, as well as fine tuning the final level of the trailer in concert with the corner jacks. Even when the terrain is very uneven and the load leveling hitch has to be raised much more than normal to get the bars into place, this jack doesnt seem strained regardless of how high I have to lift the rear end of the hitched Grand Cherokee!

The installation took only an hour. It would have been shorter but I chose to clean up existing wiring. The jack worked as soon as the wiring was complete. It is very quiet and quick and is much better than my old electric Jack. Make sure to have the proper wiring connectors before you start as they are not included in the kit and some shrink tubing can finish your job to keep out moisture . 114153

Hello- I am EXTREMELY pleased with my purchase and etrailer. Tried to write the review on the attached form but it would not go thru. Was a but nervous about the install initially but it went VERY smoothly and quickly! I simply attached a wring clip to the one attaching wire and used some shrink tubing. I do not have a heat gun so a simple match lighter was all I used to shrink the tubing at the ring clip and and the supplied in-line fuse. Simple, fast, neat! VERY pleased with the appearance, one of the nicest looking jacks in my opinion. Motor fast and quiet! I did remove the attached trailer plug storage holder and relocated it on my LP gas tank cover, LOVE that feature too! I am so happy I made this purchase- Packaging was great and shipping quite fast too!!! Thank You ! 76739

There is a white cap on the top lof the unit where the hand crank would go if needed. what is the white cap and what happened to the black one that is shown on the product in advertisementm??

The smaller black cap, closest to the LP cylinder covers, is where the manual crank would go. The white item, is actually a bubble level (not included) that the customer added to the jack. See part # HM09815

Can't go with 5 stars yet because I haven't used it to hitch up yet but I expect zero problems as the test out went as advertised. Easy to install and wire up (although I needed to buy a 3/8" ring connector to connect breaker switch to the battery--took 3 minutes:)). I had to remove the trailer power plug holder and taped up the backplate with Gorilla tape but plan to attach it elsewhere when the right location comes to me. Man, I wish I would have done this long before this. And I got the jack in 3 days, not 5-7 and received three emails along the way letting me know that it had shipped "special" and not "normal" ground and that they knew I had received it and hoped I would be happy with the product. I hope that kind of service and attention to the customer is the "new normal" because it hasn't been around for 30 years, my opinion. Hopefully the pics came out ok. Thanks for a great product and equally great customer service! 114361

I had just purchased a new trailer and because of the size and extreme tongue weight, it required a *weight distribution system* type hitch. In order to put this type of hitch on, it requires that you first connect the trailer to the hitch, then lift the trailer AND your tow vehicle at the same time. Then you install the weight distribution system, then lower it back down, retracting the stand 100%. My trailer came with a hand crank style for lowering and raising the trailer. Can you imagine doing this by hand? I did my homework and found the Husky-4500 to be the perfect fit for my trailers weight (3700lbs)…I have attached the YouTube link describing this product in greater detail and how it works. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zl3T8fAnetY Again I did my research and found the very best price for this item at *etrailer.com*. I ordered this product on Tuesday 9-22-15. I received an email from George at etrailer that my order had been processed and shipped on the same day!!! On Friday the 25th, I received my product in the early afternoon!!! The packaging was excellent, insuring the product arrived without damage. The instructions were clear and very easy to follow. Installation took just about an hr and it worked every bit as advertised. The adjustable leg allows me to level the trailer now on the driveway as the Brute-4500 has a longer stand travel than the stock crappy one. *NOTE*- my trailer did not have nuts on the bolts securing the hand crank to the trailer…the holes are “threaded” so the bolts do not require nuts. I elected to put locking nuts on the bottom of the 3 bolts, just for added peace of mind. If you’re lifting a large trailer, you may want to do the same. I would recommend this product to anyone that has a trailer that requires a weight distribution system hitch, or anyone who just doesn’t want hand crank the trailer on and off the tow vehicle. Added bonus-the unit has covered device that holds your trailer plug, up and out of the way when not towing, keeping it free from water and dirt. 227891

This jack has been performing flawlessly. We have traveled extensively over the last year and it has been used often. It has saved my back every time I use it. I use it to lift the tow vehicle hitched to the trailer when attaching the load control bars. This makes it much safer than trying to use the tool to overcome the tension. During our last trip, the trailer was parked on a very sloped driveway. When hitching up to leave, I needed to extend the jack to its upper limit to connect the load control bars. When I looked back at the vehicle I saw that its rear wheels were lifted completely off the ground. The jack did not even strain to do it. I was impressed. I also want to compliment etrailer.com on their customer service. The first jack they sent had more gear noise than I thought it should. All I did was ask if this was normal, and within a few days I received a replacement unit. No hassle. Thanks, etrailer. 243896

This replaced an OEM LCI Jack that came on our T Trailer that never seemed to have the 'umph' to lift the 24' - 6000lb TT. It always sounded like it was over working, especially when I lifted the tail of the truck a few inches to set the load equalizer bars. The Husky Brute is a different matter altogether! What a difference! The installation was straight forward and without any difficulties & everything works as 'advertised' and it shows no signs of any strain when lifting the trailer tongue or tail of the truck! Pros: Easy install; Power; Positive up/down stops at position limits; Full 18" of lift; Circuit breaker instead of fuse; Night lights; Nifty 7 pole plug holder; Powder coat paint durable. Cons: None 406254

After a full season of use, still excellent! Got a good deal of use last season with many set-ups during one 16 day trip and a 30 plus day excursion. No issues other than one mounting bolt head has rusted a bit for some reason, but nothing a little Rustoleum doesnt cure! Meets all expectations!

awesome product, will put on all my trailers in future. It works great every time. It may take a little longer than manual jack but lot easier flipping a switch than cranking on a handle. 711487

This is the 2nd trailer that I've had to replace my electric jack. I've purchased this twice and have had great success both times. Definitely not your stock (cheap) electric jack that RV manufacturers put on. Heavy duty, well built and fast up/down. Easy bolt-on matched what was previously there. This is a quality jack that is worth the price. 704488

Have had no problems with this Husky electric jack. Be sure you use the star washers when attaching to trailer frame. The washers provide the correct connection in order for the jack to properly work. Thanks for the followup. 703289

I like the product. It works well and is strong. I ruined one by driving away while it was down (something you do only once!) and I had to replace the whole unit. I'm sure others have made this mistake. The only thing I would improve is that they make it so you could replace just the shaft. 688751

It's been about a year now since we've had our electric jack. It's been fantastic! No more cranking! The jack does it all with ease. It's also simple to install. For me 3 bolts and connection to positive and negative on the battery. But it's definitely a way to spoil yourself and make life easier. I highly recommend this jack. You'll absolutely LOVE using it! 686719

This was easy to setup ( about 15 Minutes) and works fantastic. I am to old to be using a hand crank and this is the perfect replacement. I would highly recommend both the jack and etrailer to everyone. 683603

Love the electric trailer jack, makes things a LOT easier. I have to turn it 90° so that I could lower my tailgate and that was an easy adjustment. So for it has worked flawless, Great Product, good price! 682535

I was hesitant to buy an electric jack due to my trailer being a custom air bagged trailer fully designed and fabricated by myself. I knew I needed a specific amount of travel with whatever jack I bought and also needed the clearance of the jack in the up condition to be next to nothing to enable the trailer to fully drop to the ground. I bought a normal a-frame Jack and cut the mounting plate off and relocated it which worked well but the heat warped the tube and made it a bit tight when raising and lowering. I then purchased an ultimate trailer Jack, from etrailer.com of course, and loved it. The only down side was during the raising of the trailer from fully dropped condition while having a load on the deck. The bags did a lot of the work but at certain points the jack was lifting a good amount of weight and when I am worn out after a long day it was a pain to crank, only due to myself most likely overloading the jack. I then made the decision to get the electric jack finally. It works beautifully. I bought this fully knowing I would likely have to do a custom install somehow to drop to the ground. An afternoon of cutting that old plate off the first jack an sticking to some plates to shim the jack up a bit and there I had it. I have been overly satisfied with 99% of my purchases through etrailer.com during the build of this trailer and will vouch for them 100%. In the end this jack gave me a full 18" of travel from the ground position with the option of 6" more using the included drop leg which was perfect. All the while retaining the load capacity I needed and the added bonus of having lights which I didn't even notice when I bought it. Kudos to Husky and kudos to etrailer. This one gets my vote. 677424

A great electric Jack at a grwwat price. I purchased the Jack over a year ago and have gone on over 15 camping trips since installing it. I have a 28 foot camper and bought the 4500 pound capacity jack. I have nothing but good things to say about it. The auto stop feature works like it should, and the reliability is unquestionable. I would highly recommend this item. 669101

Outstanding lift! Has the power to get the job done lifting 850 lbs tongue weight! Smooth quiet operation and easy installation. Love the adjustable foot allowing more lift height and the holding clip for the 7-pin electrical plug! Great service from etrailer as usual! 657850

This jack was a replacement for an under powered original. The original strained at raising just the trailer and quit completely on our first trip. Installation of the new jack is straight forward. Performs much much better. I can now raise both the trailer and the tow vehicle while they are hooked together - to make mounting the sway bars much safer and easier. One less thing to be concerned with. I'd also like to thank etrailer for their help. I called and they answered a couple of questions for me. I live in eastern Kansas. The jack was shipped from their location in St Louis Missouri. I received the jack the day after I ordered it. 656873

This jack is a awesome replacement to an old hand crank jack. Tried this jack in manual mode just to see what it was like if something did happen to it where it couldnt run itself and I'll tell you it is very easy to crank a 32' travel trailer up and down even in manual mode. The brake is also a nice feature to make sure the crank doesnt take off on you if you are cranking it down. Its quick up and down and the 5 position adjustable foot are nice and sturdy as well. I also use the lights on this unit as night lights, theyre just enough to see in the dark but not too much to annoy the neighbors. 653484

Do you have a question about this Camper Jack?

  • Recommended Electric Trailer Jack for an A-Frame Trailer With 700 lb Tongue Weight
  • I recommend using the etrailer.com Electric Jack with a Footplate, part # EJ-3520-BBX, for A-Frames. This trailer jack is rated for 3,500 lbs so it will have more than enough power to lift and lower your tongue weight of 700 lbs. This trailer jack has a total lift of 25-1/8 inches and comes with an LED light that shines down towards the coupler to make connecting or disconnecting your trailer in the dark much easier. Another great feature about this electric trailer jack is that it has...

  • Can Forest River R-Pod 180 Travel Trailer Use Electric Stabilizer Jacks
  • Smaller and lighter camper trailers like your R-Pod 180 typically do not have electric stabilizer jacks but instead use manual scissor type jacks. The main reasons are ground clearance, weight and power consumption. The manual scissor jacks typically need less ground clearance than electric ones and they add much less weight to your towing system. They also do not deplete precious battery power. Ram 2500-lb manual jack # TJSC-24, for example, has a retracted height of only 5-inches and...

For tongue jack to meet your needs, I recommend the etrailer.com Electric Jack w/ Footplate - A-Frame - 25-1/8" Lift - 3.5K - Black # EJ-3520-BBX. This jack will mount to the same location on your trailer tongue A-frame and will give you a drop leg as well as a really nice LED light on a separate switch to help with connecting or disconnecting. If you want what I consider to be the best...

  • Tow Dolly for Airstream Travel Trailer
  • There are currently no wheel casters that are confirmed to work on the Husky Brute Jacks like part # HT87247. Husky doesn't offer any most likely because wheel casters don't have very high capacities and the Husky Brute jacks have pretty high capacities so having a wheel for them would greatly reduce the overall capacity of the jack setup. If your tongue weight happened to be under 700 lbs you could use a trailer dolly like part # CE27550 to move your trailer around.

  • Recommended Electric Tongue Jack For Toy Hauler
  • For your toy hauler, I recommend the Electric Jack w/ Footplate - Drop Leg # EJ-3520-BBX. This jack has a 3500 lb capacity and will lift 25-1/8 inches total. That lift is including a 5-5/8 inch drop leg travel. It has the outer tube diameter of 2-1/4 inches to fit your A-frame's jack hole diameter. If you are interested in a jack that requires less power draw and uses a low-friction ball screw to reduce wear, I recommend the Husky Brute # HT87247. This jack will also fit your application...

  • Recommended Jack for 7,000 Pound Car Hauler

  • The 12V power circuit in standard 7-way trailer wiring is typically limited to about 30-amps current. This is enough to operate a trailer's electric A-frame tongue jack, like # HT87247 or # EJ-3520-BBX, but it may not be even close to the power needed by a high-capacity winch. For instance, the Bulldog Trailer Winch # BDW15020, rated for 4400-lbs, will draw at full load well over 300-amps of power! • Recommended Electric A-Frame Tongue Jack for 2017 Jayco Jay Flight SLX Travel Trailer

Usually in a properly-loaded trailer this will be between 12% and 15% of the trailer's total gross weight (GVWR). Since your 2017 Jayco Jay Flight SLX A-frame travel trailer has an unloaded tongue weight (TW) of 710-lbs we can estimate that when fully loaded the TW will be more like 1000-lbs. For this weight...
