  • Cam-lock buckles hold straps tight over your gear
  • Vinyl-coated S-hooks help prevent scratches on your cargo
  • Camo color

Specs:

  • Strap dimensions: 1" wide x 6' long

  • Maximum load (break strength): 1,200 lbs

Note: Tie-down straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the straps being used. For example, if you are using straps with a WLL of 500 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 straps to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use straps in pairs.

Video Transcript for Erickson Camo Cam Buckle Tie-Down Straps with S-Hooks Review

What's up everybody. It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we will be checking out, these camel cam buckle straps from Ericsson and they're really easy to use. They're about six feet long. So they are a little bit limited in their length but you can still use them to strap things down in your cargo carrier and your shrug bed. Just these smaller items that you need nice and tight.

You see it's not going anywhere. It's not moving on this cargo carrier and the same would be wherever you strap it down. They're just handy to have around. Let's check them out. The cam backle has a plastic outer shell.

If you can see slightly there on the inside, there is a metal cam buckle in there. So it's just a standard one. But the push button design actually really helps. So you can do this. Now loosen it.

I can remove the hook and move this around if I wanna go to a different tension point. And when you're going to strap something down all you gotta do is strap down the other side, lock on this side, and then you just pull this loop. It gets the slack out of there. That's it. You don't have to push the button to redo it.

You just pull this loop as tight as you can. And it's nice and tight. Everything's secured down. Taking a closer look at the hooks, it's got a vinyl coating on there and it's an S hook design so that's gonna be better to get that pretty much anywhere you wanna make it an attachment point. You can see, you can kind of get it grab there. You can come here. It makes it easier to attach it, to get stuff strapped down. Also, the coating makes it so it's not gonna damage side of your cargo carrier or the side of your truck bed, wherever you go to use it. It's gonna keep this protected and whatever you hook it to. Another thing you might notice is the plastic cap here, and at first glance, it might not seem that like that big a deal, but it's actually pretty helpful. So with it loose, it's loose in state now but we're going to attach it here. Let's say I leave it like this. And I go to the other side to attach the other hook. It's just gonna fall off like that. And that can be kind of frustrating when you're going on both sides of the truck bed or both sides of this cargo carrier. But with this cap, you can wrap that around, attach it and attach this cap on the end that holds it in place. Now you can see no matter where I move this though it's loose it's not gonna pop off the attachment point that gives me the time to attach the other side and then just go ahead and tighten it down. One small thing against it would just be that it doesn't have a lot of strap on this end so it really kind of limits you when you go to make it tie it down somewhere. So yeah and this hook hooks here just fine but if I want to wrap it around itself, and attach it to the strap again, I couldn't do that. There's not enough for there and there. and there's no option. You can't get any more out of it than what it has, but you know, it's only a six foot strap so there's plenty of tie-down points on a cargo carrier to go around to and hook it somewhere and the same in your truck bed. So it's just a very minor complaint. Now they also have a safe working load limit of 400 pounds and then a break strength limit of 1200 pounds. So make sure you just stay under that 400 when you're strapping stuff down and that should be all right. The straps are made out of a polyester webbing. They also come in a quantity too. One more thing worth noting probably is that when you have them loose and undone they don't really have a way to store up into themselves. So you're kind of left with all this leftover strap. So a good thing to get probably is we have one on our side the etrailer bag, you'll be able to put this in there. It's good for storing ratchet straps or cam buckle straps like this. They're very good for that. It's just a little bag. They'll go in there and you can zip it up. They'll stay all together and keep them from getting tangled up that way. Or they're just in the same place every time when you need to find them a bright yellow bag will be easy to find at the back of your vehicle when you need to pull it out and strap something down real quick. But that pretty much does it thanks for hanging out. And I hope this helps..
