Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the Pacer Performance Hi-Five Truck Cab Light Kit. Now, this is going to be styled after the 1999 through 2014 Ford factory roof lights, so it's going to give you that big rig look for your truck, even if it's not one of those Fords. But it also is going to help to allow other drivers to see you more clearly, especially in inclement weather. So if we're going through an area that has a lot of fogs, rainstorms, snowstorms, things like that, it just helps to give that extra a bit of lighting so that we can see each other out on the road.The kit comes with everything you see laid out here on the table.
So we'll get our five lights, the hardware to get that installed since these do have the little studs already in place on each of the light housings. So you will have to drop the headliner in your vehicle to get these in place. It also comes with the bulbs that fit in the little sockets here that go into our lights, the wiring, a fuse, a switch, and the hardware to mount that switch as well as some quick splice connectors. So, pretty much everything you need to get this installed.I'm going to show you what it looks like whenever it's illuminated. These bulbs are incandescent.
They're T10 volts and they're the 194 style, just little wedge lights. You can get this exact kit with everything that you see, just with the addition of some LED bulbs. That part number is going to be PP20-236. Again, it is the same style, so you can see our light comes on there. It just has the LEDs instead, which I would honestly suggest getting, since those are going to be a lot longer lasting than the intended bulbs.But with that in place, you can see how bright that's that is.
Turn the lights in the studio out. So this isn't going to be super bright. It's just enough to, again, give us that better visibility out on the road for other drivers. And I could only really do one of these guys at a time, so I apologize that you're not seeing all five of them lit up, but just use your imagination there for the other five.So, the install process, fairly straightforward. You do have to do some drilling to get the lights in place and also to run the wiring into your cab.
So, if that's something that intimidates you, you might want to think about a different kit since there's pretty much no way around that for installing these on a vehicle that doesn't already have them. You'll have to drill three holes per light, two for the studs and then another one for the wiring. The quick splice connector will make that wiring connection between this little socket and the rest of the bulk wire. Normally, we would suggest switching these out for an insulated block connector, but in this instance, just the nature of this, since it's all kind of running off the one line, it actually is kind of handy to use those quick splice connectors. So, you just want to make sure you get a good crimp on them and should be fine for your application.It comes with the little gasket for each light, so that should do a pretty good job of keeping out any kind of water or dirt or debris from traveling into your truck. Do you want to be extra super careful You can always put a little silicone sealant around the hole that you drill for each of those studs, but that's up to you. It's just kind of a little extra if you want, if you're the cautious type.The switch also allows you to bypass your factory wiring so you don't have to worry about tapping into your factory lights, voiding any warranties on your truck. You'll just have everything running off of its own system. Again, it comes with a fuse, so everything is fuse protected.So it should be just a pretty straightforward kit to do as long as you take your time. Be careful. Measure twice, cut once, as the adage always says. As far as the size of each of these lights, they're all the same, but it's going to be 3" wide by 4" long, and about an inch and 3/4 tall.It is a universal fit, meets SAE specification, and has a 60 day limited warranty. But that's going to do it for our look at the Pacer Performance Hi-Five Truck Cab Light Kit. These can lights work on trucks without previously having them instated. The bases have foam that is very thick so the base doesn’t sit flush. I have not had any leaks after one year. The sockets for the bulbs are very cheaply made. They’re too soft and they don’t sit in the holder correctly. I occasionally have to readjust the bulb and socket with pliers to get it to sit right.

These are Great! I put LED bulbs in them and they look Great! Also you can replace the bulbs if there is an issue! On other brands you can't!

Look good on the truck, one of the center lights became loose so it was not making great contact and therefore was out. I got it working again, but it was a hassle taking the light off the truck to just spin the light a little bit.

fairly quick shipping..my truck has never had lights...but have installed them on every truck I've owned ( 4 ), This is my 5th. Everything was in the box. It even came with little washers for the screw heads. I used silicone just in case. I was very skeptical of the supplied ground wires but they all worked!!.. I decided on the old style bulbs this time. Might switch if they don't last then I will go to the LED's. I used a different toggle switch than the one supplied. Really like the set so far. I have never seen a truck like mine with cab lights. Maybe others will try it now?

Your better off buying the mopar replacements instead of going the cheaper route. They constantly filled up with water, about an inch or more in some of them. Never got into the cab because I sealed it correctly with silicone. I took them off about 3 times to get all the water out and even tried applying silicone to the part where the bulb twists in to the housing. Still leaked. Tried silicone around the entire light, still leaked. I decided to check out the molding and it’s actually 2 pieces, so there is a seam all the way around that leaked in 3 of 5 of the lights. I put silicone there, now there good, no leaks. Otherwise kit was great, didnt use the splice connectors, i soldered. Do yourself a favor and get mopar lenses

I really do like the look of theses lights. They were pretty simple to install. However I really wish the LED bulbs were brighter. They are just a tad bit weak I’d say. Another thing is that the bulb housing doesn’t really fit in the main housing very well. It took some work and finesse just to piece them together. One last thing is that it would have been nice to have a housing designer so that the light from the bulb could be seen from behind. As they stand you can barely see the light from the side and the back is totally blocked. Just some humble suggestions for the future

One year on, these lights are holding up very well. Installation was pretty simple, I did have to break out a drill to enlarge the factory holes - I believe the factory lights used sheet metal screws to attach to the top of the cab through the lens and these use a metal stud attached to the light base with a nut that tightens from inside the cab (it's been a year and my memory is fuzzy). Outwards though these lights look completely stock. They sealed well and I've experienced no issues with water leaks. 100% suggest these to anyone wanting to replace or upgrade their stock lights to LED while retained the OE look.

Lights and everything arrived quickly, everything needed was in the packaging. The only thing I did differently was I wired the lights into my existing light switch instead of a separate switch, just bought 16 gauge wire from hardware store. I added some t10 LED lights which look awesome at night! During the day LED or incandescent bulbs are not very visible anyway. Overall awesome product!

The Pacer Performance High-5 lights on my 1992 Ford F350 are high quality. They fit the original screw holes perfectly. The LED lights are bright. The wire connectors were different, but that was no problem. I cut off the connectors and used crimp-on connectors, then taped the connections securely with electrical tape.

The lights were purchased as replacement for the existing lights already on the truck, so all the hard work of drilling the holes and running the wiring was already done. What little installation I had to do was fairly easy, and simple. The lights match the originals exactly and you can't tell them apart from the old ones. The package was shipped promptly and arrived undamaged within a few days. Great product, I replaced existing lights with these. Hole pattern was exactly the same as my old lights. I had two issues not related to the product. My old lights only had one wire through the cab. They had a jumper wire that went from bulb socket to mounting screw for the light. As far as replacing existing lights goes, this product is great. For a complaint, the instructions nor video showed me what the little rubber washers were for. Since there were 10 of these I assumed they were for the mounting screws. I used mine for lens cover screws. I also used silicone under foam pad, on top of foam pad, on mounting screws, and after install was complete I added it at base of lens and around base of light. All not needed but cant hurt to keep water out. Definitely reccomend this companies products.

Excellent product. Very good price. The replacement marker lights were almost an identical match to the original lights on my 1983 Ford F150. A very easy install. The truck looks great!
