Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Westin Fey Chrome Plated Steel Diamond Step Rear Bumper with the custom installation kit. Now, this is a custom fit part, it is designed to fit the 1987 to 1996 Dodge Dakota trucks, and on the custom fit part like this, I always like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show you if this will work for your application. Now, this is a replacement rear bumper, creates a nice, sturdy step, so that you can access your truck bed with ease, and this does match the factory specifications to fit your vehicle styling, so it adds both utility and rugged good looks to your vehicle. As you can see, it has a nice chrome plating on it, it adds brilliant shine and resist corrosion. And I mentioned the diamond tread step surface, if you look at the very top of the bumper, the whole length of it has this nice diamond tread surface to it, and that'll provide traction when you're getting into an out of your truck bed.
If you noticed, also down here, it has the three integrated ball holes that make towing very easy, all you have to do is just add a hitch ball. Now, the hitch balls are not included, we do sell those separately on our website. The hitch ball you'll usually put right in the center hole here, the diameter of the hole is 3/4 of an inch, so you do wanna make sure when you get a hitch ball that the shank diameter's 3/4 of an inch. If you noticed the two holes on each side, you can usually use those for the safety chain hookups. Now, this is a cold rolled steel, it's very strong and sturdy.
Also, if you noticed, it does include the license plate lights, which will wire into your running lights. Basically, these would just insert right into those openings, use the clips to hold it into place. Here's your wiring harness with the bulbs, put those in there, and then you use these connectors to connect it to your running lights. Now, there's also, if you noticed, there's the holes right up here, there's two square holes, that'll take these plastic inserts that are included with the screws, so you'll be able to attach your license plate to the bumper. Now, to install this, it is a pretty quick and easy bolt-on installation, there's no drilling required, you get these custom brackets and the hardware that allow you to bolt this to your vehicle.
Few specs on this, the towing capacity is 3,500 pounds, tongue capacity of 350 pounds, and that is stamped on the bumper. And last thing I wanna do is just give you the measurements on this. The overall length from one end to the other is 64 3/4 inches long, the width of the bumper, seven inches wide, total height, 6 1/2 inches tall. The new bumper arrived yesterday (very fast). The box was unfortunately very damaged and had been taped. I have attached pics of how it arrived.
I opened everything and amazingly all the parts are here.
The bumper did sustain a minor scratch but is not damaged or twisted.
I have not try to install this yet so with the minor damage shown how should I proceed?

Bumper arrived on time. Great quality and look. Cant wait to install it on my rebuild.
Only reason for 4 stars as that the bumper is actually 2 pieces, not 1. There is a chrome "bumper" for the lights ,steps and license plate but where the tow hitch ball is, it is made of black steel. My only issue is that the pieces are held together by a clear caulk. Seems odd to have 2 metal parts joined by caulk, not bolts or welded.
Deapite the caulk, it is a great bumper and Im satisfied.

WE ARE MOUNTING IT NOW AND IT LOOKS GOOD. IT DID ARRIVE WITH MINOR DAMAGE. THE TOP DIAMOND PLATE WAS LIFTING OFF THE CENTER OF THE BUMPER.WE WERE ABLE TO REPAIR IT.

I am very impressed with this bumper. I bought it as a replacement for my 77 Ford F150. I've been restoring this truck since 2006, and the original bumper was too far gone to save. I was trying to match the original as closely as possible and this one was perfect.
It came with everything needed, right down to the license plate lights and bulbs. It was easy to install with the supplied directions and it looks great on the truck! Good price, free shipping, and very good quality. Five stars all day long.

1997 Ford F-350 XL 4x4 - Great bumper and excellent customer service from etrailer. My truck has the 37" width frame so you have to flip the mounting brackets so they are narrower to the bumper. Everything bolts directly on, no drilling.

finally got chance to install bumper on truck. the installation was rather simple a little akward for 1 person to do but I was able to install it fairly easily. This bumper is a great fit on my truck. The only fault I found was my truck had factory reciever hitch, so had to remove a bracket holding hitch to install bumper otherwise the bumper fit nicely. I would recommend this product to others. Attached are some before and after pics.

Fitment is great and it was fairly simple to install. The hardest part was probably removing the old bumper which was pretty rusty. It definitely doesn't look like the factory bumper which I was a little worried about until I got it installed and saw it on the truck. It looks way better than the factory bumper. Excellent product, especially for what I think is a very reasonable cost. Highly recommended!!

The quality is very good for the price! The only thing that need to be corrected are, the instructions show mounting the mounting brackets opposite of how they actually mount and bolt to the bumper. The higher hole goes to the inside not the outside. The only other thing that needs changed, is the length of 2 of the standard bolts in the kit. 2 of them are very hard to get the thread started with both a flat and lock washer. Other than that, this is a nice product at a nice price point

Bumper installed easily and looks great. Frame bracket holes lined up perfectly, and the bumper lined up on the brackets with very little effort. It took me about 1 hour to remove the old bumper and install the new bumper. Recommend having an assistant to at least help hold the bumper while lining the bolts up. It is exactly what I expected. The safety chain holes are a bit further from the edge than my old bumper, but I picked up two shackles and that issue was resolved.

This is a 2009 replacement bumper for my E350 van. Excellent construction and fit. One year later, after I put multiple coats of rust proofing and paint on it, it has weathered great and stood up to my work environment. If you want a superb bumper, buy one of these. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Not happy at all. It does not fit my vehicle, its 65 in wide, I needed 90 inches wide. etrailer does not have product measurements on website, and does not guarantee fit. Waste a time, and im out $XX for shipping- thats not right, will never buy from this company again.

Great product, especially for the price. Instructions and videos were good also. the only issue I had was the holes didnt line up perfectly on the frame, even though I had the exact year make and model of truck that the bumper was for. I had to drill one hole in each side of the frame to get a third bolt in (the rear bolt in the picture) and strengthen in up a bit. Id highly recommend this product and etrailer as well. Good experience!!!

I'm sure it was shipped in perfect condition. The box arrived yesterday, and it was pretty beat up (the box). Upon opening it, I discovered a couple of nicks and one dent. I don't fault etrailer for that. I believe it was roughly handled.

I was looking for a direct replacement rear bumper for 86 Ramcharger. This is a generic one size fits all. It does not fit. The Ramcharger requires 6 bolt holes. This one has only four. After seeing this I have not tried to mount, so I do not know if the other brackets will bolt up. Further, this bumper is stamped from very thin metal. I am very disappointed.
