Titan Brake Actuator - T4813100

Get the best in brake actuator technology with the BrakeRite EHB. System combines the response time and effectiveness of electric brake controllers with the power of hydraulic actuators for the fastest, safest stopping.

Features:

  • Electric-over-hydraulic brake actuator mounts on trailer and hardwires into trailer wiring system
    • Brake controller (sold separately) is required to send signal from tow vehicle to actuator when brakes are applied
    • Signal triggers pump and motor on actuator, activating trailer brakes
  • Pump-and-motor-based system increases response time compared with traditional hydraulic actuators
    • Trailer brakes are triggered when you apply brakes in tow vehicle, as opposed to when trailer pushes against hitch ball
  • Electronic, proportional pressure valve ensures that braking is smooth and effective
    • Controls braking pressure during long-term braking
  • Fluid reservoir is isolated and has diaphragm-type filler cap to prevent spills and leakage

Specs:

  • Application: disc brakes
  • Hydraulic pressure: 1,500 psi
  • Vehicle must be wired with an in-cab electric brake controller (sold separately)
  • 1-Year warranty

With a faster response time and more proportional braking than traditional, surge-type actuators, the BrakeRite is perfect for nearly any towing application from light to heavy duty. The system works with most in-cab brake controllers to sense when and how you apply the brakes in the tow vehicle. An electrical signal is then sent to the actuator to trigger it's pump and motor. Brake fluid is released and sent to the trailer brakes to activate them. The result is real-time braking that, thanks to the electronic proportional valve system, is also smooth and controlled.

Video Transcript for Titan Brake Actuator - Electric-Hydraulic Brake Actuator - T4813100 Review

Today we're going to take a look at the Titan Brake Right EHB Electric Hydraulic Actuator for Disk Brakes. Now this actuator has a faster response time, and more proportional braking than your traditional search type actuators. The Brake Right is perfect for nearly any towing application from light all the way up to heavy duty. This electrical hydraulic actuator will mount on your trailer and hard-wires into your trailer wiring system. Now brake control which we do sell separately is required to send the signal from the tow vehicle to the actuator, when the brakes are applied, the signal will trigger a pump and a motor on the actuator and that will activate your trailer brakes. The pump and motor base system will increase the response time, compared with your traditional hydraulic actuators. The trailer brakes are triggered when you apply the brakes in your tow vehicle as opposed to when the trailer pushes against the hitch pump.

It does use electronic proportional pressure valves to ensure that the braking is smooth and effective. It controls the braking pressure during long term braking. The fluid reservoir right here, is isolated, has a diaphragm tight filler cap to prevent spills and leakage. Now the wires that are included on this, there's 5 different colors, and actually on the back, it will describe where they connect to, but just to go over them real quick, the white wire is a 12 gauge size and it's for the 12 volt power. The black wire is also a 12 gauge size, and that's for the 12 volt power. The blue is a 16 gauge, that's for the brake control input from your brake controller.

The brown is a 16 gauge size and it's a brake away input from your brake away switch. Then the last one which is the purple right here. The violet they call it. This is the 12 volt in-putter output between the unit and the brake away battery. Now the application on this actuator is for disk brakes, it has the hydraulic pressure of 1500 PSI, and one note that I do want to mention, the vehicle must be wired with in cab electric brake controller. We do sell those separately on our website.

It does come with a nice booklet, which is a manual describing how to install it and all the features of it. That should do it for the review on the Titan Brake Right EHB, Electric Hydraulic Actuator for Disk Brakes.

Worked with Karen C to prepare my order. She was outstanding. Also, etrailer.com made it easy to match a competitive price via the PricePledge.com email service. Parts are being installed today and I hope we will be back on the road going boating..! Thanx again Karen C....!!! 217104

The products were ordered on Sunday night late, delivered by Wednesday. Converting drum surge brakes to disc, electric over hydraulic on a boat trailer for 26ft Sea Ray boat. I had everything including Titan brake actuator, 4 kodiac rotor and caliper conversion kits with bearings, and new lines installed by Thursday evening. Installation was straight forward, everything fit perfectly. One of the calipers was malfunctioning (not releasing). I called customer service and I had a new one within two days, it's now installed and working great!! Great product! Awesome service!! Stops better than any other trailer brakes I have ever experienced. 338160

Bolted right on. It was half day job installing this unit with my entire brake job ripping the old drums off and installing Discs, this unit is fantastic and works flawlessly. Sometimes I show off the effectiveness of the EOH system with the disc brakes to my friends. I have a 7,700lb boat and I'll only use my brake controller instead of my brake pedal going down steep hills. the trailer brakes quickly and effectively slow the GMC Yukon and boat by themselves with no vehicle brakes. I've attached photos of a few phases of the install as well as the entire vehicle to see what I'm talking about. This unit is very responsive and very effective, the greatest advantage if EOH systems is braking going backwards. It is awesome for launching the boat. Enjoy! 284060

I put disc brakes on my 38 foot 5th wheel travel trailer due to the poor brake quality of the manufacturer. I now drive on the highway with much greater confidence for our safety. The stopping power of these brakes is incredible. The quality of the brakes are superior. I installed them myself finding the instructions accurate and easy to follow. There was a small part missing out of the brake line kit and the part was overnited to me by E Trailer. I have purchased many items from this company and have found the products to be of top quality and fairly priced. The customer service is outstanding. Thank you. 306849

Is it normal for this brakerite actuator to have had brake fluid(not much but fluid is present) iin it? 575566

Comments

It is indeed! Titan bench tests each and every actuator before its shipped, so its perfectly normal for there to be a residual amount of brake fluid still in it.

This EHB was a little trouble putting in as the template for the holes was xeroxed so many time the holes were /4 inch off. So I had to fill in three holes in my chassis floor. Once nstalled and the brakes bled, it worked like a charm. Definitely much greater stopping power. 211364

Review from a similar Titan BrakeRite EHB in Brake Actuator

The brake controller pump is adequate however it is not a very good way to make brakes work on a trailer. It has nothing to do with your service or your quick shipment of that part. You're supplying the part and getting it to me was excellent as well as the service from the lady that took my order she did a great job. 597581

This is what powers the unit so if you don't have 12 volts here then the unit will not function properly.
