  • 7500 lbs GTW
  • Bolt-On

Use this corrosion-resistant actuator to synchronize your trailer brakes with your tow-vehicle brakes. Over-center latch mechanism only engages when the actuator is fully seated on 2" hitch ball. Designed for hydraulic disc brake applications.

Features:

  • Hydraulic actuator activates trailer's brakes when tow vehicle slows or stops
  • Electric reverse lockout lets you back up without actuating trailer brakes
    • Solenoid activates automatically when you shift into reverse
  • Low-profile coupler latch ensures easy, secure connection
    • Over-center latch mechanism only engages when the actuator is fully seated on hitch ball
  • Aluminum master cylinder is better at reducing corrosion than cast steel master cylinders
  • Zinc plating offers excellent corrosion resistance
  • Bolt-on installation
  • Made in the USA

Specs:

  • Application: hydraulic disc brakes
  • Ball size: 2"
  • Mounting holes positioned 3/4" down
  • Capacity: 7,500 lbs
  • 2-Year limited warranty

When you apply the brakes in your tow vehicle, deceleration occurs and momentum pushes your trailer toward the rear of your vehicle. With surge brake systems, the actuator is triggered as your trailer moves forward while the tow vehicle slows. The actuator telescopes, applying force to its master cylinder, which in turn supplies the necessary hydraulic pressure to engage the trailer's brakes.

This product doesn’t fit over 3” tongue. Its the exact same size as a 3” tongue.Unusable. Had to remove the internal portion and modify my trailer tongue to fit. Arrived as the worst packaged item I’ve ever received. It was barely still in the box. Whom ever packaged this didn’t have a clue what they were doing.

Review from a similar DX7.5L in Brake Actuator

I slipped this into my boat mate trailer for 2001 moomba. Took about an hour to hook up and bleed the system with a buddy. Works great! If you can use simple tools and are mechanically savvy this is a no brainer.

Review from a similar DX7.5L in Brake Actuator

I received my order two days ago, Quick shipping but it was the wrong part. I called and spoke with Noah who sent me an email asking me to take a picture of the part and add my phone number. I did right a way and still have not heard back. I emailed Noah today asking about the status no reply, now Im on a 9min hold to try and talk with someone about my replacement past. The wrong part looks like a good part if it fit my trailer.

Comments
Mark, Im sorry Noah didnt reply to you in a timely manner. We will get this taken care of and send out the correct part.

Review from a similar DX7.5L in Brake Actuator

I ordered this surge brake hitch without the back up solenoid. Due to supply chain problems it was going to take 3 months to ship. Upon receiving it far ahead of schedule it had the solenoid included at no extra charge meaning that someone at etrailer expedited my order and kept me happy at etrailers expense. How can you top that for service?

Review from a similar DX7.5L in Brake Actuator

The product is exactly what I ordered and it was shipped quickly. Only problem is it is missing the upper cap to cover the brake fluid reservoir. I did call Customer Service and they said they would send one ASAP. The photo online shows it is included with the product. I’m waiting on receiving it.

Unfortunately, we do not carry the correct replacement shock T4502000 for your Dico Aero 6000 actuator because it has been discontinued from production. I went ahead and reached out to Dexter axle (the makers of the Dico Aero 6000), and they said that, sadly, the only thing to do would be to replace the actuator itself. • Does Surge Brake Actuator Need To Be Replaced Or Locked Out When Electric Brakes Are Installed?
Since your 26' Eagle Boat Trailer with Tandem Axles has electric brakes now, you do not want to have a functioning surge brake actuator and it will need to be locked out or replaced with a standard coupler. Now drilling a hole and using a wood screw like the previous owner is not a recommended method to lockout the coupler, and it would be better to have a welder weld the inner and outer sleeves to keep it from engaging the master cylinder. If you would rather get rid of it all together...
