Note: Tie-down straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the straps being used. For example, if you are using straps with a WLL of 500 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 straps to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use straps in pairs.

Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Sport Rack Sport Gear Cargo Strip. It comes in a 2-pack, 18 feet in length. Its part number is Sr0703. The strong strap from Sport Rack are designed to hold all your gear. They're made of a durable, polypropylene construction, and they offer a limited lifetime warranty. The chrome-plated buckle adjusts the strap tension, and the vinyl buckle guard prevents scratches on your vehicle's paint or any surface you may have it made it up against. As you can see, it lays nice and flat right on the top.
The 1" wide strap has a length of 18 feet. The strap break strength is 700 lbs, while it's working load limit is 233 lbs. Now that we've gone over our features of the strap, let's go ahead and show you how it works. We've got our generator here. This is what we're going to be strapping down. Our first step of course is going to be to unwind our strap.
We'll then feed it through our anchor points. We'll pull our excess around, where we'll take our tag in. We're going to fit it first through our vinyl buckle protector, and then through the bottom of our cam buckle, and out through the top. Pull through our excess strap to get the most tension on it possible. It's a good idea to push in it this way while you're pulling out this way.
All that we have left to do is secure our excess strap. With our cargo secure and our generator nice and tight, we're ready to head down the road. All right, we've made it where we need to go. We're going to undo our strap. Just as simple as hitting a button here. That'll release our tension.

I used this to tie down some cargo in the back of my pickup, and when I got to my destination (about 350 miles), it was already frayed in several spots. When I checked the specs on the straps, I realized I hadn't ordered ones strong enough for what I wanted. They are great for short distances and lighter weight, and I've used them several times for that.

These things are excllent! I used them for tying down dirt bikes in the toy hauler but they would sometimes stretch slightly. Then I checked and found that I was overloading them, so now use them for gas cans, boxes of riding gear, boxes of kitchen gear, and other things weighing less than 150 lbs. Their long length also make them outstanding for holding a tarp over a large load in my pickup bed. Their bright yellow color makes them easy to find in my big bag of tiedowns, cargo straps, and bungee cords.

2 long straps, very good, strong quality, buckles that fit tightly. Will be used to hang up a kayak on a wood beam. Even looks good, green color. Strap feeds through a small protective pad, so the buckle cannot rub against anything. End of strap is cut at an angle, pointed, sealed so that it is thin and feeds easily through the buckle.

I bought several Erickson Tie-Down Rope w/ Ratchets to allow me to lift/store my truck cap. Best value and quality I found anywhere. Makes this job so much easier -I was using standard ratchet straps which I had to unwind (can only ratchet a little before it becomes "full". Used a couple of 2x4s under the cap and 2 of the SportRack Cam Buckle Cinch Straps to keep the cap attached to the 2x4s.
Don't go to Walmart - prices and selection were much better here!

It does the job holding my ladder in place on my roof rack. However it is a bit annoying to have to wrap it around as opposed to something which clamps down on the load. Also the straps fray making it difficult to put through the metal clasp.

Worked well for a trip with a cargo car topper. Ran it from San Diego to Canada and back, no problem. If you want to stop the strap from whistling in the wind, simply make sure it has a twist or two in the strap before securing, this will eliminate the windy whistling sound. This product perform well for a 30 day expedition, on the car 24 hours a day with multiple weather patterns etc. No issues at all

Glad I got the 15' version. I used them for extra security on fastening a Rola expandable bag on the top of my Carpod carrier. The Rola bag fastening system is secure front to back but the SportRack straps provided the peace of mind I wanted for side to side. The straps never loosened over a 3200 mile trip. The buckles are protected somewhat by an attached flap. That flap is very flimsy and ripped immediately where there is an opening for the strap. The flap remained in place and provided the protection for the cargo but better material in the flap would have appreciated.

Good for light duty, such as securing a tarp around whatever I've carrying in the back of my truck. I wouldn't trust them to tie down heavy loads. They are worth the money for light duty.

These are good for short haul and light weights such as securing a tarp over something you're hauling. I would not use them for securing heavy objects in my pickup truck. For light duty, they're worth the price.

Used the straps to secure a hot tub cover. Worked great but I had to fasten hooks as the straps did not have the hooks option. Would have purchased hooks if available.
