These heavy-duty tie-downs help you secure you boat's transom (stern) to your trailer. Ratchets make it easy to tighten the straps precisely and maintain tension. Polyester webbing and corrosion-resistant steel hardware. 2,500 lbs Max load.

Features:

  • Tie-down straps let you firmly secure your boat's transom (stern) to your trailer
  • Ratchet mechanisms make it easy to tighten down and maintain tension on straps
    • Let you tighten straps precisely with no guesswork
    • Let you loosen straps instantly with quick-release levers
  • Zinc-coated steel ratchet and S-hooks are corrosion resistant
  • Strong polyester webbing is flexible, and weather resistant
  • Web pad under buckles and rubberized vinyl coating on top S-hooks help prevent scratches and scuffs

Specs:

  • Strap dimensions: 2" wide x 2' long
  • Safe working load limit (WLL): 833 lbs
  • Maximum load (break strength): 2,500 lbs
  • Quantity: 2 transom straps
  • 1-Year limited warranty

Note: Tie-down straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the straps being used. For example, if you are using straps with a WLL of 500 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 straps to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use straps in pairs.

The transom (stern, or rear of your boat) provides important tie-down points for securing your boat to your trailer. These transom straps are intended to be part of a boat tie-down system, and they should always be used along with a bow strap and at least one gunwale strap, for safe trailering.

The gear-like ratcheting mechanisms on these transom straps let you provide just the right amount of tension needed to secure your boat's transom to your trailer, and each strap stays locked in place until you press its release lever.

To protect your boat's paint finish, the top S-hooks are coated with rubberized nylon and each ratchet buckle sits on a pad made from the same webbing used for the strap.

Working well after a year. Well made.

by:

I bought the wrong time but I kept on my used them for other things they work well

by:

Great product, very easy to use made job a lot easier, super fast shipping I'll be back

by:

It works pretty well, but came with no instructions, and it is not obvious how to operate it. Particularly with regard to releasing the ratchet when the belt is fully tightened, or when trying to increase the length prior to putting it on the boat. The machined sufaces are pretty sharp, which makes it uncomfortable to apply pressure. I would have spent more for a device that was easier and more pleasant to use.

OK, not wonderful. No instructions, and not obvious how to release the tension to take the boat off. Also, had to make some modifications to my setup to tie down my 14 12 foot bass boat because the strap was too long.

by:

Solid heavier built, not too long. I wanted tie downs for quick and easy after pulling the boat out of the lake. I find these to work well because most have extra length that is not needed for this application. Used for transom of Mastercraft boat to trailer for towing.

by:

I googled stainless steel tie down straps. These aren't stainless steel but since it was my error for not noticing the description at check out, I am keeping them. I should have been known by the low price that the straps don't have stainless steel buckles but I missed it anyway. Since I keep my boat under cover, the straps should last a long time. Typically though, I try to buy anything marine in 316 stainless steel since I use the boat often in salt water.

by:

These new ratchet straps are great for tying down my boat to the trailer. Simple to use.

by:

Good heavy duty tie downs and the right size also.

by:

The transom straps work excellent. They work so well, much easier then the transom cam over style. They are heavy duty and work smooth.

by:

I use these on my 2302 Trophy Hardtop that I tow a couple of hundred miles to and from the ocean and they have worked well so far.

  • Picking Out Transom Strap for 2023 179FS Keywest Boat
For a boat as heavy as your 2023 179FS Keywest boat I would go with our higher rated transom straps like the BoatBuckle part # IMF14207 which are rated for 2,500 lb max load and are 4 foot long. This should be a long enough strap but we also have a 6 foot long version part # IMF14208 and a shorter 2 foot long strap part # IMF14206.

  • What is the Length of the BoatBuckle Heavy Duty Tie-Down Straps # IMF14206
Since the strap itself on the BoatBuckle Heavy Duty Tie-Down Straps # IMF14206 measures 2' in length from the end to the middle of the "S" hook you will have more than enough length for the 18" space you mentioned. From where the strap rolls up on the ratchet to the middle of the "S" hook on the ratchet strap measures 1' so when it is all laid out you will have 3' (36") of strap. Be mindful though that some of the 2' strap will need to be ratcheted into the mechanism for it to be secure.

  • Shortest Length of BoatBuckle Heavy Duty Ratchet Transom Tie-Down Straps
The minimum length you'll get out of the BoatBuckle Heavy Duty Ratchet Transom Tie-Down Straps # IMF14206 is about 17" and that's inside hook to inside hook.

  • Transom Strap Recommendation for Length Needed of 2 foot 3 inches
Since the length you need is 2 foot, 3 inches the correct length of BoatBuckle Transom strap you'd need is the part # IMF14207 which can stretch out to up to 4 feet in length. It would easily tighten down to the length you need as well.

  • Recommended Transom Tie-Downs For a 2,000LB Boat
I recommend using the BoatBuckle Heavy Duty Ratchet Transom Tie-Down Straps in either a 2' # IMF14206 4' # IMF14207 or 6' # IMF14208. You will want to find the appropriate length depending on your boat and trailer. These straps are all rated for 833lbs working load. With boat trailers and straps it is important to remember you are securing a heavy object to a lighter object. So with your boat weighing 2,000lbs your trailer is most likely around 500lbs which is well within the weight rating...

  • Transom Tie Down Straps for 2020 Bass Tracker Superguide SC V16
I have a solution for you, however, I actually measured one of these for you and I found that at its shortest, the BoatBuckle Heavy Duty Ratchet Transom Tie-Down Straps # IMF14206 would be around 18 inches long, which is a bit too long for what you need. The best solution for you and my recommendation is to go with the BoatBuckle G2 Retractable, Ratcheting Transom Tie-Down Straps # IMF08893. Instead of using extra webbing with a hook, the G2 straps use a bolt to secure the ratchet body...

  • Tie-Down Straps for 900 lb Boat Trailer
In order to choose tie-down straps, you are going to need tie-downs with a break strength that exceeds the weight of the lightest object, so you will want to use straps with a break strength that exceed the weight of your trailer. So I recommend the following straps: - BoatBuckle G2 Retractable, Ratcheting Bow Tie-Down Strap # IMF14220 This strap has a 2,500 lb break strength, and you'll use it in combination with gunwale and transom straps. - BoatBuckle Heavy Duty Ratchet Transom Tie-Down...
