Stainless steel S-hooks and ratchet components give this gunwale strap added protection against the elements - even in salt spray. Ratchet lets you tighten strap precisely and maintain tension. Polyester webbing. 1,000 lbs Max load.

    • Great for saltwater applications
  • Ratchet mechanism makes it easy to tighten down and maintain tension on the strap

    • Lets you loosen the strap instantly with quick-release lever
  • Durable nylon webbing is flexible and weather resistant

Specs:

  • Strap dimensions: 1" wide x 12' long
  • Safe working load limit (WLL): 333 lbs
  • Maximum load (break strength): 1,000 lbs
  • Quantity: 1 gunwale strap
  • 1-Year limited warranty

Note: Tie-down straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the straps being used. For example, if you are using straps with a WLL of 500 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 straps to safely secure that load.

The gunwale (side edge around the boat) provides important tie-down points for securing your boat to your trailer, usually just aft of the midsection. This gunwale strap is intended to be part of a boat tie-down system, and it should always be used along with a bow strap and a set of transom straps, for safe trailering.

A tie-down system is only as strong as its weakest link. Heat, humidity, and salt from road treatments or ocean spray all contribute to rust, which causes the hooks and buckles in most tie-downs to weaken, seize, and possibly break. The stainless steel components in this ratcheting gunwale tie-down provide maximum corrosion resistance. No more hard-to-open buckles or rusted hooks. In other words, no more weak links.

The gear-like ratcheting mechanism on this gunwale strap lets you provide just the right amount of tension needed to secure your boat's midsection to your trailer, and the strap stays locked in place until you press its release lever.

Tie-down strap has been in service for over a year now (outside on the deck of a boat in salt-water). It has held up well from both UV and salt considerations. No rust and only mild fading of strap color. It is a much better strap that what can be found at big-box stores.
