Lets see back in 1978 i bought a boat& trailer 16'aluminum polar craft And had no tie downs so i found a easy tie down strap that wood fit over the Gunwale and secure the boat to trailer that had a channel frame and the hooks fit easy to any where on the frame.That was 44 years ago so i found the name on the buckle and hoping i could fine a new tie down strap from the same company and i did and ordered it.Now i replaced it with same tie-down i had, The old one is still good I will use it other things that need to be secured. I own a 38 year old Ocean Alexander pilot house which carrie’s an 11’ Boston Whaler dinghy on it’s boat deck. The dinghy was secured to the deck with gunwale straps having galvanized buckles. These buckles rusted, leaving stains on the dinghy’s seats. I ordered new straps with stainless buckles from etrailer.com. but I ordered the wrong size. etrailer.com promptly exchanged for the right size. One year later, constantly sitting in the open salt-air environment, the straps look like brand new. Great product, fast, easy service— what more can you ask for? These tie down straps help secure my 11' Boston Whaler dinghy to the boat deck of an Ocean Alexander pilothouse. My first order was for 16' straps which proved too long. etrailer promptly accepted return and shipped out the 13' replacements -- which work perfectly. Strap is well constructed and the buckle is very heavy duty. Much better than the ratchet strap I was using. I like that the buckle is on the top side near the middle instead of right on the side of my boat needing a lot of padding to keep from damaging the fiberglass. It's much easier to use than ratchet straps too. Just pull up the slack, snap the buckle down, your done.287460
