Video Transcript for The Low-Down on the Classic Accessories Boat Cover by StormPro

What's up everybody Adam here with etrailer. Today I brought my boat to work and we are taking a look at the classic accessories StormPro boat cover. There's a lot of different boats on the water and there's a lot of different options on our site. There's two measurements that you wanna do to make sure you're gonna get the right one for your boat. First, you wanna go to the very front of your boat all the way to the very back of your boat leaving out the motor, that's gonna be your overall length. And then you're gonna do the beam measurement which is the widest point of your boat from side to side.

So the one we picked today was anywhere from 16 to 18 and a half foot long. And this whole boat is about 18 foot long. So fits pretty well. Take those measurements and you'll get paired up with the right cover for your boat. The StormPro cover is gonna have a marine grade canvas throughout the whole entire cover.

This is engineered for water repellency and also just to kind of keep that water from seeping down in. It's gonna protect itself from UV rays and also the mildew build-up. We have vents on both sides with little holes here. That's gonna help air flow through, so the mildew and moisture doesn't really build up. So your boat can breathe.

The cover has a pretty decent fit. We have an elastic cord that goes all the way around the whole entire boat. And then if you look at some of the straps they're gonna be a quick disconnect, which I like. It's just gonna make it pretty easy to take this cover off. And then they adjust, put them back on, pull them tight.

So that's a nice little feature but one thing that sets this one apart from some of the others, notice power strap. So our strap goes all the way around instead of it just stopping down at the bottom I think this gives it a better fit, keeps it tighter and spreads that pressure throughout the whole entire cover. Once we have this thing completely tightened down and everything it's nice and tight. So that's gonna be good for two different reasons. So this is gonna be used for highway use, but also for all that pooling of water, if it's gonna be sitting for a while, all of it is going to eventually run off because whenever that water starts to puddle in, one it's tough to get that water off the cover and then not sink into your boat. But two, mosquitoes starts to fester and it starts to mold up. So you're gonna have to clean it a little bit more often. If you want to clean it, all you gotta do is just take a little bit of light soap and mix it in there and spray it off with a garden hose. There's one thing I would recommend grabbing with this, and that's just a cover for your motor. If you get one that's a little longer than this one for your boat you might be able to cover it with that cover. I just recommend having a separate one for the engine. But everything else pretty much comes with the kit. If you want to stick around we're gonna show you exactly how we got this all strapped up and tightened down. The cover comes with the little carrying case. But when you take this out of the box for the first time just take a second to just look at it and figure out exactly how it's folded. They always do such a good job. And most of the time it doesn't really go back the way it is. So just pay attention. And you might wanna keep this here just for storing up later. I do. So we have it folding a couple times. Just take note of where everything's at so we can try to get it exactly back the way it is. Once we put it back in our storage bag. We want to go ahead and just get this thing completely opened up. Keep your eyes peeled for a sticker that says front. This is gonna go on the front of our boat. So I like to start there. And another thing I also like to do is kind of lay it out. Now that we have the front where we need it, kind of roll this up so it's a little bit easier to handle especially if you're doing it by yourself. So we'll go ahead and put it up like that. Get this front kind of where we want it to be. A trick that I've learned is once we get the front kind of where we need it I like to take the little strap in the center of the front and route that down, just down to our frame or down to somewhere solid on our boat. This way it's gonna just not come undone whenever I start pulling on the other end of the cover. Just snap it in, just a little bit of tension on there, just so it doesn't go anywhere. Then we can start to move it around, start to fold this out and work our cover around our boat. Move it around. I'm gonna try to get this side at least to hook on this side of the boat so it kind of stays into place. You can also use that strap technique that I went over earlier to keep that side over there but we'll see if we need the strap or not. Now for the back end, we're gonna leave the motor out of this just because I have a motor cover for that. And then we can work our way around. And it seems to fit pretty well. Our straps are gonna be one inch wide and seven foot long. So what I like to do whenever it's possible is kind of go to the other side of the trailer frame or if there's a point on your boat. This way it's really gonna pull the cover this way and not just straight down. It's gonna make a nicer fit, gonna go like that. And I like to just get a little bit of tension on these and once they're all connected then we'll go around and tighten them all up. Some of the straps, it's best just to go straight down when the trailer gets a little too wide. So, just go ahead and get them nice and loose but still pretty tight for them. With this kit you do get a pull for the center just so water doesn't pool up. The cool thing about this is you can add as many links as you need. It's got a massive base right here. So what we wanna do, just start linking these up and you can need to take a measurement or just kind of gauge what you think you're gonna need when it comes to height. Each one that we put on here is gonna be about eight inches. I think we're gonna start with one out and then there's something on top, which is just gonna make sure there's no sharp edges or anything. And you want to do this before we put all the straps on. So where you want it to go just make sure you don't hook that strap up yet. I'm gonna stick this in, kind of prop it up a little bit. I think that's the right height. So you don't have to use all the links in there. Now, if that's in there, we can go ahead and finish up the rest of our straps. Once everything is nice and tight you're gonna have a decent amount of excess on some of your straps. What I suggest doing is taking a pair of scissors, cutting it, giving you a decent amount maybe about a hand or two hands lines. You cut it and then bring a little lighter to it just to make sure that it's not gonna start fraying and coming apart. This is just a very simple and easy thing to do for your boat so you can protect it for the weekend or over the winter. And that's pretty much it for a look at the classic accessories boat cover..

Fit's great and easy to put on. Just lasted through a tropical storm with no failures. It comes with one support pole and depending on your boat you'll need more. Mine is a 18.5' open bow boat and required 3 poles total.
