Bike Trailer Innovation

The ball-and-socket design of Thule's ezHitch system makes a flexible connection between your bike and the trailer. This means that as your bike leans into corners, the bike trailer stays more upright because the bike and the trailer act independently, preventing twisting of the tow bar. In addition, if your bike falls over, the flexible connection will allow the trailer to remain upright. This hitch system also stabilizes the bicycle trailer and helps to prevent the trailer from pulling or pushing on your bike as you turn, so you have a smoother ride.

Installation of the ezHitch is simple. If there is a quick-release skewer on your bike's rear wheel, then replace it with the included skewer and hitch cup. If you have a solid axle, then remove the nut from the axle to install the hitch cup. The hitch cup can be left on your bike even when you're not towing the trailer.

The ezHitch system allows you to quickly connect your bike to the child carrier.

To connect the trailer to your bike, slide the end of the tow bar into the hitch cup and secure it with the locking pin. The included safety strap acts as a backup connection for the hitch in case the trailer accidentally disconnects from your bike.

An extra-tall safety flag slides into the sleeve on the rear of the trailer. And the included reflectors mount on the trailer's wheels. The flag and reflectors make it easier for the trailer to be seen as you ride.

3-Wheel Stroller Setup

Transform the bike trailer into a stroller when you reach your destination. Push the button on the tow bar, and move the tow bar back so it slides through the bracket at the front of the carrier. Slide the bar into the second bracket in front of the rear wheel and pin it into place.

Then remove the stroller wheel from the stored position, flip it over, and insert it into the tow bar. Secure it using the pin and clip. The sturdy wheel pivots so that you can navigate easily over uneven terrain, making tight turns a breeze.

Safe Construction

This carrier is designed with your children's safety in mind. The anodized aluminum frame of the carrier forms a roll cage around your precious cargo. Anodizing adds a strong surface coating that prevents rust while retaining the lightweight quality of the aluminum.

The durable, polyurethane-coated polyester fabric is free of harmful chemicals, and the UV-protected side windows are made of phthalate-free polyurethane, which complies with the European Oeko-Tex Standard 100 for safe textiles. The reflective trim increases visibility in low-light conditions so that drivers, pedestrians, and bike riders can see you coming.

Comfortable Ride

The Thule Coaster XT keeps your children comfortable as you travel. The hammock-style seats and padded, 5-point restraint harnesses help cushion your children and keep them safely inside the carrier. And the large, tinted side windows let you check on your children as they enjoy the view.

You can use the included weather cover with the screen alone to keep out bugs and debris or with the rain cover to shield your babies from wet or windy weather. An attached sunshade helps to keep your babies out of direct sunlight and can be fastened to the back of the carrier when it isn't needed.

Parent-Friendly Design

For your convenience, the HeightRight handlebar can be flipped over to offer 2 comfortable grip positions.

The large rear cargo compartment is perfect for storing a diaper bag or snacks, and the carrier has a mesh pocket inside the cab for organizing smaller stuff like toys or wipes.

The hand brake has a large knob on the end to make it easy to grasp. Simply push the brake handle down to lock the carrier in place or pull the handle up to unlock the brakes when you're ready to hit the road.

Each of the 20" black aluminum rear wheels can be removed with the simple push of a button, which makes folding the carrier easy.

To fold the carrier, remove the push-button wheels, tow bar, and handlebar. Then pull on both red knobs in the rear cargo area to release the frame latches and give the back frame a sharp push down and inward to fold the carrier. After the carrier has been folded, place the wheels and tow bar on top of the carrier for storage.

A storage cover (sold separately) is also available to protect the carrier when it's not in use.
