Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at and showing you how to replace this cable lock for your Yakima bike racks. Be sure to check the right fit. We've got the FullTilt with us here today and we'll show you how to get it replaced. To start, I'm just gonna tilt the bike rack down just to give it a bit easier access for us. Now ours isn't damaged or anything today so we're just gonna show you the, the process of actually getting it removed.
You can see we've got one screw right up there that we need to remove and it does come with the tool to remove it. So we'll just loosen that up, and get it taken off. And with that fully removed, the whole assembly will just come right out of the mast. Just get that aligned with the hole and kind of pry that out. You might have to push it back down a little bit just to get those tabs to release, and then lift the whole assembly out like that.
Then the new one will just drop in its place. It's already kind of wrapped up so I'm gonna feed it down into the mast first Like that. And then we can feed, the actual plastic portion into the mast like this. And then secure it with a screw. Now if your old screw was fine, you could reuse that but it also comes with a new one.
So just push that down, get it lined up and secure it down. And just like that you've got a new cable lock. You can fold this up and test it out. So everything fully extends and it goes and houses back into the mast just like the old one did. So we're all good to go.
It's an easier placement and it's nice that they give you all the tools. So if your cable lock is broken or damaged you can get a new one and get your bikes locked up. Thanks for watching..

Was back ordered for like 6months but shipped pretty quickly once it came back in stock. Part fits per specification. Cable did its job for us on an overnight through St Louis. Glad to finally have the replacement installed.
