What's up everybody Its AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be taking a look at The Rocky Mounts Cable Lock. This one's gonna be eight foot long. It's gonna be a thickness of 12 millimeters which converts roughly to 15, 30 seconds of an inch, and it's gonna be great for locking up your bikes when you're not around. This one's kinda bigger so if you want, you can use this with multiple bikes, maybe furniture or a barbecue pit here at your campsite. If you don't wanna just put everything away every time, you can just lock it up here at the front.
That way no one can mess with it when you're not around. It is a cable lock, so you're not just limited to the front of your rig. You can really use it anywhere you might need a cable lock. It is a little bit longer for one of those where you're gonna throw in your backpack if you go on a bike ride. But then again, you never know where you're gonna end up and where you need to tie down your bike.
And especially if there's two of you, this will help just tie both of them up, and you can get some of that slack if you just wrap it around, whatever, like there's a post. Just give it a couple more wraps around there, and they'll take up some of the slack. You may not need it every time, but you're gonna be happy you have it if you have slim options on where you're gonna tie things down, and you need that extra, that's gonna be awesome too. Taking a closer look at the cable, you can see it's got a vinyl coating on there and it's steel, braided steel on the inside. So you know it's gonna hold up, it's gonna be durable.
I like it's got that vinyl coating on the outside because, you know, when you're running through your bikes, on the frame, you don't wanna do any damage there, and this is gonna protect it from. It's not just the steel is rubbing against the frame and scratching it. It's even reinforced here at the ends of the loop. So that's good 'cause that seems like to be resting. Right now, it's not really resting on anything, but when you wrap it up tighter, it'll be against your bike too.
And again, you just don't want it to scratch anything. You have two loops at the ends. So those are gonna need to come together. You're gonna need a padlock to lock those up. We got the Rocky Mounts one we're using today. And like we said earlier, to like, if you want to get a little less, or a little more slack out of there, you could run this loop through here, and pull it tighter and lock it up somewhere else. It's really up to you, and whatever you can do in the situation where you need to lock it up. And speaking of those situations, the good thing about the cable lock is, that it's not rigid. Some of the other bike locks that I've messed with, they are nice and they get compact. So you can put in your pocket or your backpack, a little easier. But they're rigid, you can't move them around. This one is a cable lock, you can see, I can twist it. All around, so you know you can use it in any situation. You have anything to tie it down to. It's not gonna be a problem of it not being able to go around it and get tight. And speaking of that flexibility, it's nice that this cable lock can actually wrap around or go around pretty much anything you need it to. And you can get it tight around there. Some of the other bike locks I've messed with, they are far more rigid, which they do get more compact and they're easier to take with you wherever you go, but, they also won't wrap around posts. They only just stay very rigid and it's kind of hard. You have to get very specific situations to lock things up. This one's kind of good for whatever you need it for. So not just bikes, you got barbecue pits, lawn furniture, anything you want to just kind of store up here, or wherever you are, you can wrap this around there and lock it up tight. Nobody's gonna mess with it. Well, thanks for hanging out. I hope this helped..

Works great.
great product and price also, very fast delivery and when ordering the help was excellent
This item worked perfert for the job I needed it for.
Very well made product. It weighs approximately 10 ounces, so I don't mind carrying it on my bike considering the theft protection it provides. Overall it is 3/8 inch in diameter, but the actual cable itself is about 1/4 inch in diameter, still plenty stout enough to deter the casual bike thief.
Seems strong made. Haven't used it yet. Bought to go thru 2 atvs frame and secure while sleeping at a off road destination. Should do the trick
Does what it is supposed to. Holds up out in the weather and has a nice thick protective coating. What more can you ask for. I always add a few of these if I need to pad out an order to get free shipping.
Great price
Great quality, especially for the price
Flexible, will be easy to lock bikes or motos together on roof or trailer
Nice and beefy beaded cable, I have it on a Volicirax bike rack while I stop at a store or restaurant quick in and out. Piece of mind that it’s going to take some effort to cut through this and it will need to bevplanned you will need bolt cutters. The cane has a nice protective coating so you won’t scratch up you rack or your bikes.
I would buy it again.
Seems well made, cable is nice and flexible. At 25' long, will be useful for locking up *all* the bikes when camping. It's still just a cable, so expect security on that level (Forest campgrounds should be fine, RV park in Los Angeles probably not).
Good quality and heavy duty. This product will work exactly for what I wanted it for.
Quality lock cable ... Clearance priced !
