Toyota Sienna Bike Rack Questions

  • I recommend the Saris Freedom SuperClamp 2 Bike Rack # SA4025F for your bikes. This rack will fit both 1-1/4 and 2 inch receiver hitches and has a weight capacity of of 60lbs per bike or a total weight capacity of 120 lbs. The Saris rack can also support bikes with tires up to 4-1/2 inches in width. Therefore, the tire size of your Sondors Fat Tire Ebikes will not be an issue for this bike rack. The Saris rack uses hooks to around the tires to secure your bikes to the rack....

  • The Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top 3 Bike Rack for Vehicles w/ Spoilers - Trunk Mount - Adjustable Arms # HRF2-3 or the # HRF2 are confirmed to fit your 2017 Toyota Sienna. When bikes are not on this rack, you would need to adjust the upper straps to have access to the rear cargo, and may be able to open the hatch with the other two straps holding the carrier in place, however, it is not recommended to open a hatch with a trunk mounted rack in place as the weight could shift and...

  • The best way to transport bikes on any vehicle is almost always a hitch. This is so because hitch-mount bike racks use the car's frame - its single strongest part - to handle the weight load of the rack and bikes instead of the car's relatively thin sheet metal. Once you add into the equation sometimes-delicate cosmetic features like spoilers hitch racks make a lot of sense. Still, if you're going to transport only 1 or 2 bikes of nominal weight then you can use a trunk-mount...

  • There is a 3 bike version of the Sitkka part # S64687 that you mentioned which is part number # S64688 but there isn't a way to extend the 2 bike out to a 3. Also, we can't recommend carrying a dog stroller with this rack. A cargo carrier would be the best solution for that. For a wider cargo carrier we have the Pro Series part # PS1040100 which measures 31 inches by 47 inches.

  • I can help you find the best bike rack for your family's bikes on your 2016 Sienna. First thing we know about the 2 inch Curt Hitch # C13105 is that the clearance from the center of the pin hole to the edge of the bumper is 4-1/2 inches. This will come in handy when selecting the best rack for you. Between the two Thule 5-bike racks, I would recommend the Thule Apex # TH9026 over the Vertex # TH9030XT because of the distance between the bike racks arms being 12-1/4, which...

  • I have a solution for you, but the Saris Bones is not a confirmed fit on the 2017 Toyota Sienna. One of the most flexible racks we carry is the Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top, part # HRF2, and its 3-Bike variation, HRF2-3 . This rack is designed specifically for vehicles with spoilers or taller than average hatchback vehicles, allowing for a variety of fits and installations. This is a confirmed fit for both your 2016 Toyota Sienna and your 2010 Subaru Forester. I recommend...

This hitch mount bike rack will hold one trike and one two wheel bike. The maximum trike track width this carrier will hold is 36 inches. The weight capacity of this bike rack is 100 pounds. It has a built-in anti-rattle device, with an easy-to-access handle on the front of the carrier. This rack also comes with an 8 foot cable lock to...

  • Though the Thule Vertex 4-Bike Rack, # TH9029XT, and the Thule Hitching Post Pro 4-Bike Rack, # TH934XTR, are often compared, there are a number of key differences. The Hitching Post Pro offers straight dual arms to attach the bike to, whereas the Vertex provides dual arching arms, which provide more space between the bikes than standard dual arms. This feature allows pedals and handlebars to hang at separate heights and helps prevent them from coming into contact with each other...

  • The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13105 that you referenced is a great option for your 2015 Toyota Sienna to carry a bike rack with. Although adding a hitch receiver to any vehicle ultimately reduces the ground clearance, I wouldn't be too concerned about that. When we installed the Curt hitch on a similar 2015 Sienna we found there to be about 10-3/4 inches or so of ground clearance which is a very typical measurement for most vehicles. • With any trailer hitch mounted bike rack you will have to go back and do something with it prior to opening the rear hatch on your 2015 Toyota Sienna. Some racks tilt, some can swing off to the side, some will just have to be removed. • I really like the Saris Freedom Superclamp EX2 part # SA4025F for ground clearance. It has a decent rise in the shank at 5 inches (which is a couple more inches than most racks) and the bikes are held pretty close together which means less of an angle that can drag. This rack can also fit 2 inch and 1-1/4 inch hitches and weighs only 30 lbs. Check out the review video I attached as well. The lock set you purchased, # HRLHPTC, has the cable lock that is constructed of braided steel. Braided steel is very difficult to cut through so it is still a solid option. Usually what happens is a would be thief will move on to an easier target if they even see a lock. So basically locks, no matter what kind, have that additional layer of protection.

  • For your situation and vehicle, I'd recommend going with the Saris Superclamp EX 4, part # SA4026F over the Kuat NV 2.0 Base + Addon, part # NV22G-NA22G at this time. The 2015 Toyota Sienna has a very low ground clearance to begin with and the height gained from the Saris Superclamp's design will help limit the worries you have about ground clearance for the bikes.
