24x60 Reese Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - 500 lbs
The rack is much bigger than my previous one. I was disappointed that it was made in China instead of the USA. It assembled very easily and the light kit works very well. The only draw back is I can no longer open my tailgate with the rack installed due to the spare tire hitting the raised rack.
Purchased in March 2023. I really like the size, it holds a lot. The carrier is very sturdy, well made and assembled very easily. I purchased the light kit but found wiring could have been a little longer to dress the cables neatly down toward the hitch.

Curt Roof Mounted Cargo Basket - 41-1/2" Long x 37" Wide x 4" Deep - 150 lbs
I am very pleased with the quality for the price.Just the right size for my 2017 Chevy Trax.the "U" bolts that are used to clamp the basket to the roof cross bars were a bit long so I cut them shorter & installed rubber caps on top of each stud. This keeps the studs from damaging items in the bssket.See pictures.
The reason I bought this basket is due to gas prices. I have a 4X4 suburban I use for camping and hunting but it takes a small loan to fill up the tank. Actually this basket cost less than it does to fill it up. So my thought was if i can get all my gear on my daily driver then i could save some money and maybe even sale the burb. So i gave it a shot last weekend. The rack was easy to put together. I had it out of the box and on the roof in under 30 minutes. As you can see in the pic, i have a rather large ice chest, chain saw, 6 man tent, gas stove and my chair on the roof. My camping destination was about 3 hours away. First was a hour of highway driving at speeds around 70. No issues there. Then 2 hours of windy back roads. No issues there either. The basket made it possible for me and my two kids to load up in the car and head to the hills for three days. The plus for me was it only takes 50$ to fill up the car. :-) I had the max weight in this basket with no issues. I'm very happy with this basket.

Rhino-Rack Roof Mounted Steel Cargo Basket - 57" Long x 42" Wide - 165 lbs
Great product. Great quality. Instructions not real clear, so took me a couple of hours to assemble. Then another 15-20 minutes to secure to roof racks. I was working alone, extra hands would have helped. But extremely happy with quality and looks of product. We have lots of family that visit us, so I plan to carry luggage on the rack to free up space inside the vehicle on trips to and from the airport.
Love it! It's big enough to fit a bike carrier and a cargo bag on top of my MINI. Easy to assemble and install, solid construction. Great value for your money. If I have a gripe it's that the wind fairing on the front is VERY thin/fragile. I caught it with my bike tire when loading one day and the corner snapped right off like nothing. It's only about $XXX for the replacement.

Rhino-Rack Roof Mounted Steel Cargo Basket - 47" Long x 35" Wide - 165 lbs
Greetings, I am giving these items 3? Because I was offered alternative products that did not fit together. Originally, I intended to purchase a roof rack cargo basket type and a spare tire holder from Yakima manufacturer that go well together, but one of them wasn’t in stock. So, after 3 weeks waiting time, I was offered alternative items via etrailer website, and I accepted them…after all, they are the experts. I got the recommended items through UPS, then I assembled them by myself. The roof rack cargo basket fit well on my car, but the spare tire holder was not compatible with the roof rack cargo basket. They couldn’t be assembled together. I submitted my claim to return the spare tire holder. Now, I have not achieved my goal to carry my spare tire. Understanding the needs and expectations of your customers is critical to maximize customer satisfaction. I am sure both products are good, but they are not compatible together, even though they were manufactured by the same company. Distributors should know better! I returned one item and I hope to be refunded.
Great product. Easily puts together and I was able to install on our 2016 Toyota Highlander OEM roof rails with no problems. The mounting brackets slide to make for a easy fit. Have taken it on two long road trips with zero issues last summer one to the montains and one to the beach. Was able to fit our jogging stroller on in the basket. Had some heavy rain on one trip and seen no signs of water getting into the rails as that was a concern of mine when researching the different racks. The high sides allowed for easy tie downs for the weather bag we put the stroller in. Seemed to add a little road noise with nothing in it but that is to be expected when hauling things on the roof but the wind deflector seemed to keep the noise down. Easy to put on and off with a single person able to lift it. Great product, great fit for the car. Plan on using it for some more upcoming trips.

Curt Roof Mounted Cargo Basket - 64-1/2" Long x 39" Wide x 7-1/4" Tall - 150 lbs
I love the rack and the extended length is great on my Sequoia. I am disappointed with the finish on it as the connector plates are already showing signs of rust….. I like it enough that I’m going to repaint it with something more suited to our climate…
The rack and extension arrived in sturdy boxes, well packed and no damage in shipping. The parts fit together easily. The welds left something to be desired, which is why I gave it only 4 stars. As a precaution against corrosion,I got some plasti-dip, which is a rubberized vinyl sealant and sealed all the places where moisture could get into the various tubes of the rack. I was satisfied with the quality of the powder coating on all the parts. The mounting system to the roof rack is interesting and appears well-designed. The assembly and installation instructions are OK, but could have been written better. For example, there is an extra tightening knob for the U-bolts, but no description if it is there as a spare.

Surco Safari Rack 5.0 Rooftop Cargo Basket for Factory Rails - 50" Long x 45" Wide
Excellent choice, super dynamic for its size. Owned it for a year now. I’ve put it on two cars, and I’ve used it several times. It’s gotten our family to and from the campsite and moving a few times. If wanted during the seasons, you can easily take it off by using the available key.
Awesome product. Assembly was straightforward but did take a bit of time. Installation and removal of the rack are a breeze. Very happy with the service from etrailer.com. Incredible amount of product information on the site that allowed me to make an informed decision, and shipping was fast and free.

17x46 Curt Cargo Carrier for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Steel - 500 lbs
I've been using this Cargo Carrier on my 4 Runner Venture for about a year now. I Purchased this item to haul extra gear to Nags Head from Northwestern Virginia. Installation was a breeze and it's very, very sturdy. I had two Yeti coolers packed with ice and drinks and there was no wobbling at all. I'm a 197 pounds and I was standing on it after I installed it just to check for durability and this thing is a beast. I also used this as a rod holder while on the beach and I caught a 6 foot black tip shark. Overall, I'm very pleased with this item and I would recommend to a friend.
This is a substantial, well-made product at exactly the size I needed - smaller than many, and with sides that keep items secure. It was very easy to assemble, with all parts included and clearly sorted, and with all pieces manufactured to cleanly align. The item arrived promptly, packed to protect the shipment but without waste. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a high-quality cargo carrier.

23x59 Stromberg Carlson Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - 500 lbs
Carrier and box will be moved to hitch on 209 Solitude Rv to provide extra cargo carrying ability
A good size and very strong. I like the fact that it has a grated bottom, as opposed to a few bars like many of its competitors. There are many holes and notches present for any customization desired. Also makes for a great chair to relax. I also ordered the anti-rattle pin so as to fasten this tightly to the hitch. IMO that should be included with any of these trailer-hitch-Mount accessories.

Yakima RocketBox Pro 14 Rooftop Cargo Box - 14 cu ft - Black
I've taken one 1500 mile trip so far with the Yakima RocketBox Pro 14 mounted on my RAV4. I found the box to be quiet and not to have much impact on gas mileage. I lost maybe 1 mpg with it mounted to my flush mounted Whisperbars. I drove through some very heavy rain and had a minimal amount of water inside under a thin rubber mat I had placed on the bottom of the box; none on my luggage got wet. This box works great to give me more carrying capacity when traveling with my two crated Dobermans.
Pretty good. The locking mech is a little funky but it swallows the beach chairs and other sandy stuff no problem. Make sure you watch the videos Yakima has on YouTube. They are very helpful for first timers. I found that if you use the Yakima website to get the part list right you can order wherever you want. Yup can even pull into the garage. My only gripe is that etrailer showed all parts in stock but several pieces were actually back ordered. Luckily everything arrived in time for my trip.

Ultra-Fab Dirt Bike Carrier for 2" Hitches - With Ramp - 77" Long - 500 lbs
I can't say I'm entirely happy with my purchase. The instructions were more confusing than helpful. Note in "instruction.jpg" photo of STEP 1 that the text says to put the 8 small bolts in from the inside first, but the drawing clearly shows them as going in from the outside. The last step says to place the ramp onto the receiver as shown.... glad I didn't throw away the box because there is no drawing that shows ramp installation. Actually, the photo on the box was more helpful than any of the instructions. Also, I need to make a trip to the hardware store to buy longer medium bolts because the ones that came with the carrier were not long enough to fully engage the self locking feature of the nylon lock nuts. At a minimum a couple of threads should protrude beyond the nylon. See photo "nut.jpg". The bolt threads don't reach the end of the nylon, so the self locking feature is not fully engaged. I did tighten the nut, but that was as far as it would go. I think once I get back from the hardware store with the new medium bolts and after I reverse the 8 small bolts (I followed the drawing and not the text of the instructions), I'll be OK with the carrier.
"Instantly Get Rid of Wobble and Upgrade With Lights" This is not a 5 because ramp should be longer & there should be some type stabilizer to temporary hold bike while strapping down, I'd pay more for those upgrades. The wobble can instantly be solved by hooking Tie-Straps closest to vehicle directly to the receiver where you hook your chains, rather than hooking them to the provided holes on carrier itself. You of course use the provided strap holes ones on the opposite side. When strapped down as stated, the carrier now becomes one with the vehicle & @ 80mph there is no wobble. (*TIP: Put ramp back in its place before strapping down or else it won't fit with the strap hooks in the way.) I upgraded mine with lights for both safety reasons & not needing the Police any reason to pull me over. It was very simple and cost me nothing but time & maybe $50. I recommend this product whole heartedly.

Thule Canyon XT Roof Cargo Basket - Steel - 49" x 40" x 6" - 150 lbs
We were very happy with our Thule roof rack. The low profile design works well and does not have too much wind noise compared to others I’ve had. It’s held up very well also through the seasons.
Love my new Thule canyon xt roof cargo basket!! Fits on my 2022 Toyota Prius Nightshade, it was easy to assemble!! Shipping was awesome came in quicker then I expected!!

20x47 Reese Cargo Carrier for 1-1/4" Hitches - Steel - 300 lbs
This is great cargo basket: solid and secure, easy assembly, well designed. The angled neck keeps the basket well away from the ground; I haven’t had any problems with it bottoming out. My first use was actually on a trip back from Florida following Powered Paragliding training. I was intending to bring back just a Paramotor (which would have stood vertically inside the basket), but ended up bringing back a whole Trike assembly! Mounted it on the basket as shown, and it rode just fine back through four states. Got a lot of looks on the way home! I concur with an earlier reviewer that a neat trick is to use a stabilizer strap from the hitch to the corner of the basket. There is plenty of slop in the receiver when the neck is inserted, and a short ratcheting tie down cancels the rattle effectively. I’m very pleased with this purchase; and while I don’t plan to haul around anything as big as that trike, I look forward to many more years of use from it!
First look - not yet loaded up. Ordered this because the less expensive Curt (C18110) was out of stock. It seems like a worthwhile upgrade anyway, with rounded corners and better tie-down options. Finish seems high quality. Significant play exists in the hitch receiver (Curt C11276 - gap visible in photo) to the point that I ordered a hitch immobilizer and don't plan to test the carrier with a full load until that's installed.

Thule Pulse Large Rooftop Cargo Box - 16 cu ft - Matte Black
This was purchased off of the etrailer.com website as a "damaged" item at a significantly reduced price. The description on the website described the damage very well and the cargo box has no functional issues of any kind. Also, the cargo box arrived much earlier than I anticipated. Furthermore, when I noticed that the box arrived with the load securing straps missing I emailed etrailer customer support and they had Thule send me two new ones right away. Couldn't be more pleased with etrailer and this cargo box. It fits my 2014 Honda CRV with factory crossbars with just a little bit of rear hatch interference (restricts opening by maybe an inch or two, but can still fully use the rear hatch). Can't speak to durability quite yet as I've only used the cargo box a few times to transport skis and snowboard and plan to use it year-round for road trips. A really great, simple cargo box!
This was a much needed addition for a drive back to Tucson, AZ from a three month stay in Portland. ME, as we had acquired some extra things and needed more space than our 2015 Honda CRV provided. This fit on top of the rhino vortex aero roof rack I also purchased from e-trailer perfectly. The cargo box functioned as expected, and although we ultimately could have used a slightly larger cargo box, this one worked great for giving us extra space in our car for the drive home. It was easy to mount and opened easily, although it was a bit tricky to load, a step ladder would have helped. It was tough to close, we had to move some stuff around to get it to latch, but I appreciated that it would not lock unless the latches could fully engage, which made me feel like it was going to remain closed while traveling. We wasted no time putting stickers on it, and added more along the drive home, which was fun. We traveled through many different types of weather, it was late spring and was rainy in the beginning of our trip, and very hot towards the end of our trip, and the contents were in perfect condition when we arrived home. There was zero water damage inside, and nothing was damaged from being in the heat. Of course there was some reduced gas mileage and added road noise when traveling, but nothing too unbearable. Also, service and shipping from etrailer was excellent.

20x59 Curt Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - Folding - 500 lbs
This carrier was super easy to assemble. It is a bit heavy but I was able to mount it onto my hitch alone. I’m using an anti-rattle lock and they work great together.
Installation: Easy Assembly: Easy Attached to: Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" Item # C13163 Use: Camping equipment. Cooler, Chairs, Sleeping bags, firewood, etc. Like: The fact that it folds is a huge positive. What I would change: perhaps adding a ring or two on the sides to allow for bungee cords or rope. Because the hitch is already a bit low on the 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander (stock wheels, tires, suspension) the back part of the basket can bottom out rather easily. It has nothing to do with the carrier itself though. I would definitely recommend this product! I'm going to use it again in a month for our next camping trip.

Aluminum Roof Mounted Cargo Basket - 44" Long x 39" Wide x 7" Deep - 150 lbs
This is a great product. As described, easy to assemble, light weight. I needed a solution to carry my spare tire for my 2020 Forrest River NOBO 16.2. The NOBO line comes with Rhino tracks to put accessories on them. The camper has the tire mounted on the bumper, but I needed space for a bike rack. I ordered Aero Bars and mounts from etrailer, and this basket as well as the tie down. Worked Great!!!
This is a great basket! It's very light and durable. I can pick it up easily in one hand even though it's pretty big. I have this basket on my 2011 Yaris and it holds 3 duffel bags full of clothes, a folding vacuum, highchair, 2 camping chairs, a longboard, skateboard, a four foot folding table, and another smaller folding table. I've had a few instances where the basket slipped sideways but that was because of extremely hazards roads in Kings Conservation Area in California and getting ran over by half of a tree tumbling down the road and over top of my car in a down burst from a monsoon in Phoenix. This basket has seen about 8,000 miles through 24 states in the last year and I intend for it to see at least a dozen more this year.

20 x 59 Curt Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - 500 lbs
Great quality and serves its purpose. I wish I ordered the slightly bigger one to fit the bins and items I use it for. For example, a white standard igloo cooler doesn’t fit the way I need it to maximize loading capacity. I highly recommend a stabilizer to prevent wobble.
Very nice quality. Took one person and two wrench about 15 minutes to install the cargo carrier from box. It is very sturdy and the finish is very good. I really like the added height this specific carrier provides.

Yakima LoadWarrior Roof Rack Cargo Basket - Steel - 44" Long x 39" Wide
Well done Yakima and etrailer. Great product and great service. The product is well made (in Taiwan....not China) and the parts and instruction video made it relatively" easy to install. Two people helps to install it more readily. The wind diffuser in the front greatly reduces wind noise. All in all very happy and glad I bought through etrailer. Service was excellent and delivery prompt.
I am very happy with both the initial quality of the Load Warrior and how nice the eTrailer people are to deal with... The product seems well thought out and there are a bunch of accessories to mount most anything...

SportRack Horizon Rooftop Cargo Box - 11 cu ft - Black
Easy to mount and lightweight. Voluminous for the price point.
Wish it was 5 in less in length and 5in less in height with the understanding that it cuts down on cu vol. Door mechanism and lock seem a little flimsy. But otherwise good for the $. Delivery came on time and in tact.

SportRack Vista Roof Mounted Cargo Basket - Steel - 44" Long x 39-1/8" Wide - 110 lbs
Yes, I do like it, however when it rains or I have my truck washed, water finds its way into the tubing and when it comes out after a while there is a rusty type water which leaks out on to my truck and leaves spots all over my camper shell and sides of my vehicle. I think if you were to provide a silicon to put around the joining tubes would be very helpful. I have seal with black silicon on all openings and it does make a difference. All in all, I do enjoy my rack/basket and utilize it quite a bit. I, in addition have added several pod and bar lights as shown in the photos provided.

Yakima Roof Basket Review - 2016 Jeep Patriot
Today in our 2016 Jeep Patriot, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Yakima Offgrid Roof Top Cargo Basket, part number Y07138-08.This basket mounts to the roof rack of your vehicle. It allows you to transport any cargo or sports and recreational gear on top of the roof of your vehicle, for any times where your vehicle might be full of other cargo, or family members, or if you have some sports gear that might be too muddy to put on the inside of your vehicle, it'll be nice to transport it up there until you get home and are able to wash it off. We'll go ahead and hop up here and I'll show you a little bit about the inside of it. As you can see, it's mounted down by four rubber-coated steel straps. These straps come up and under our crossbars, and they latch in right there. Once you do that, you just push it over just like that. Now, this is pretty loose right now, so we're gonna bring it back and tighten it down a bit using this blue little knob. We'll just spin it to the right just to tighten it down a bit more, so that way when we clamp it, it's a little bit tighter.
Thule Roof Box Review - 2016 Jeep Patriot
Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Jeep Patriot, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Thule Force XT Rooftop Cargo Box, part number's TH6358B. Now, this rooftop cargo box mounts to the roof rack of your vehicle. It allows you to transport any type of cargo, luggage or sports and recreational gear inside the box to keep it enclosed from the elements when you might not have enough space on the inside of your vehicle. A great feature about this box is that it has a dual-sided opening lid.Let's hop on over here to the driver's side. You just take your key. If you have any height restrictions, you are able to just hop up on the door frame right there.
Stromberg Carlson Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Jeep Patriot
Today on our 2015 Jeep Patriot, we've got the Stromberg Carlson 23 by 60 Cargo Carrier out and we're test fitting it. This cargo carrier can support up to 500-lbs and it's been designed for use in 2" hitches. The part number on it is CC-100. This carrier's going to offer a pretty large size expanded steel floor. Rocks, chunks of mud, things like that, should fall right down and through without building up on our carrier. See we've also got a raised edge that goes around the outside, it's going to be about 2-3/4" high. It's going to give us great areas here to secure our gear once we've got it loaded up, and also some license plate relocation holes, that way if we have our license plate blocked, we can move that back and stay legal. Looks like the carrier gives us about 9-1/2" worth of ground clearance there on the backside.
MaxxTow Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Jeep Patriot
Today on our 2015 Jeep Patriot, we're test fitting the MaxxTow 21 by 48 Aluminum cargo carrier. This cargo carrier will hold up to 500 pounds and it's been designed for use with 2 inch hitches. The part number is MT70422. This is a very sturdy yet light-weight cargo carrier, really easy to handle. If weight is an issue, I would definitely recommend this carrier. It's really easy to get in there, and another great thing about it, it doesn't take up a whole lot of room. In the stored configuration if you will, or if you just had this up against your wall, only looking at about 5 and 1/4 inches in total width there so it's not going to stick out from the wall very far.
Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Jeep Patriot
Today on our 2015 Jeep Patriot we've got out the Curt 20X60 folding cargo carrier and we're test fitting it. Now this cargo carrier will support up to 500 pounds and it's also been designed for use in 2 inch hitches, part # on it is C18151. This cargo carrier is going to give us a nice sturdy, kind of small hole opening of expanded steel there. It should give plenty of room for dirt and debris to fall down and through without letting it build up on top. Also with the smaller holes we're going to have great support on those smaller items. It's got a raised rail that's going to go all the way around the outside. It's about 5 1/2 inches high.
Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Jeep Patriot
Today on our 2015 Jeep Patriot, we've got out the Curt 20 by 60 Cargo Carrier. We're doing a test fit of it. This cargo carrier will carry 500 pounds and it's been designed for use in 2-inch hitches. The part number on it is C18150. Now the Curt carrier has kind of a medium to small size expanded steel floor so it's going to give you great support for smaller items but also allows for that dirt and debris and stuff like that to fall down and through. You have that nice raised rail, goes all the way around the outside. It's about 5 and 1/2 inches tall, gives us good front to back and side to side support for our gear when it's loaded up and also provide for some attachment points so we can get everything strapped down nicely. It looks like it's going to haul 00:00:51 for us about 13 and 3/4's of an inch worth of ground clearance.
Hollywood Racks Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Jeep Patriot
Today our 2015 Jeep Patriot will be doing a test for the Hollywood Racks Cargo Carrier for Sport Rider SE and SE2 bike racks. That's part number HR1485. The dimensions are 55 by 15 1/2. Right now we've got it set up to work and just plug into your 2 inch by 2inch hitch receiver. With that being done, it gives a weight capacity of 220 pounds. Now with it plugged into the back of your bike, which is what we're going to do here today, it has a weight capacity of 90 pounds.
Lets Go Aero Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Jeep Patriot
Today on our 2015 Jeep Patriot we'll be doing a test fit of the Let's Go Aero GearCage cargo carrier. That's part number HCR222. Its dimensions are 32 by 48 and it has a weight capacity of 300 pounds. Let's go ahead and begin by inserting the shank into the receiver here. It's for 2" hitches as you can see here, so you just want to make sure you have a 2" by 2" receiver. Get that pushed in and we'll line up our pinholes.
Lets Go Aero Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Jeep Patriot
Today on our 2012 Jeep Patriot we're doing a test fit of the Lets Go Aero Gear Cage Part Number HCR222 designed to work with 2" hitches. The dimensions are 48x32 with a 450 pound weight capacity. The first thing we'll do is take a few measurements. The ground clearance will be first. We'll go down here to the bottom. We have a bout 11" of ground clearance to that bolt under there.
Curt 24x60 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Jeep Patriot
Today on our 2012 Jeep Patriot we're doing a test fit of the Curt 24 x 60 Folding Cargo Carrier, part number C18153. This cargo carrier has a 500 pound weight capacity and is designed to work with 2 inch hitches. The first thing I'll do is take a few measurements. The ground clearance is first; we've got about 15-1/2 inches here. That's because we have this nice raised shank in the back that's going to lift that carrier up even higher than the ground. Overall we're adding about 38-3/4 inches to the vehicle, and our closest point is going to be about 13 inches back here. On our Patriot we have a single passenger side exhaust. It comes below the carrier, but it does come straight out.
Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2011 Jeep Patriot
Today we have with us a 2011 Jeep Patriot and we are going to be test fitting the Curt 20x48 Cargo Carrier. Part Number c18145. To fit the cargo carrier to our vehicle, we are going to insert the shank into the receiver tube of our hitch. We will line the hitch pin holes and then we will feed in our anti-rattle bolt. We will tighten this down using a inch wrench or socket. We will check to make sure that our cargo carrier is securely tightened down in our hitch.
What our customers are saying:
"We got the cargo bag and used it on the DrawTite cargo rack with no rails and took the whole load up and over the Smokey Mountains! What a fabulous product!"
