RockyMounts Roof Bike Racks Review - 2017 Hyundai Sonata

Today on our 2016 Hyundai Sonata we're doing a test fit of the Rocky Mount Switch Hitter Roof Mounted Bike Rack. That part number's RKY1270. We already have our bike secured down. First, going to show you how we do that starting off in the back. We have a cam buckle strap here and that actually moves up and down the length of the bike rack on both sides so that you can accommodate different lengths of bikes. At the front we have a skewer.

Today on our 2016 Hyundai Sonata we're doing a test fit of the RockyMounts JetLine Roof-Mounted Bike Rack. That part number is RKY1320. Now we already have our bike secured down, so we're first going to show you how we do that. Starting off here at the back, we have a cambuckle strap that's going to hold our back tire in place. One great thing about this strap is that it does move up and down the length of the bike rack so that you can accommodate different length of bikes. We would move this side, and the opposite side as well. Up at the front we have our skewer, this is going to hold the forks of our bike. We would tighten it using this opposite side over here, and then to loosen it and open it we would just use the handle here, and rotate that.

Speaker 1: Today on our 2015 Hyundai Sonata, we're going to be test fitting the Rhino-Rack MountainTrail Rooftop Bike Rack, part number RBC035. We already have our bike installed on the rack. Let's take a closer look and show off some of the features.This is a clamp on style bike rack, meaning it wraps around up underneath. We'll have a bracket with the two turn knobs at the rear. Up at the front here, we'll have these two rubber-coated steel straps that come forward and tighten down with this bolt here. The tool is included to do so.

Speaker 1: Today on our 2015 Honda Sonata, we're gonna be test-fitting the Rhino Rack Road Warrior rooftop bike rack, part number RBC036. We have our bike installed. Let's go ahead and take a closer look here. How this grips your bike, it's gonna be a little different. You will have to remove the front wheel of your bike, and it actually grips it by the fork mounts with the skewer mount here. The skewer mount does have a lock on it, and it is included, so once you install this, your bike is gonna be secured to the bike rack.

Speaker 1: Today on our 2015 Hyundai Sonata, we're going to be test fitting the Swagman Race Ready Roof Bike Rack, part number S64705. We already have a bike installed on our race. Let's take a closer look, and show off some of the features. How the bike attaches to the rack, we're going to have three points of contact with no frame contact at all. So for people that have the carbon frame bikes, this works out really well, because instead it grips it by the front wheel. And because it does that, you don't have to remove the front wheel, like you would with the skewer mounts.We also have two wheel straps on either side.



Thule Domestique Roof Bike Rack Review - 2013 Hyundai Sonata

Today on our 2013 Hyundai Sonata we'll be test fitting the Thule Domestique Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number th513. To mount our Domestique to our Sonata we'll place the carrier on the vehicle and bring the front clamp around the front load bar. We'll start tightening down the front clamp with the included Allen key and then move to the rear clamp. Swing the bracket around the rear bar and tighten it down with the Allen key.We'll move back and forth tightening each end down adjusting the placement as needed. Once our Domestique is secured we can get ready to load our bike. We'll need to put the skewer into the front of the bike rack and loosely tighten it.



Swagman Fork Down Roof Bike Rack Review - 2013 Hyundai Sonata

Today, on this 2013 Hyundai Sonata, we'll be test-fitting the fork-down, roof-mounted Bike Carrier from Swagman, part number S64710. We already have our carrier assembled to the instructions so we're ready to mount it up onto our Sonata. To mount the carrier, we'll place it on top of the front load bar. We'll fit the U Bolts around the load bar and back through the head of the platform and then tighten it down with the wing nuts.With the front half of our fork down carrier secured, we can move to the rear. We'll position the U bolt in the rear of the carrier over our rear bar and secure it using the clamp bracket and the two-wing nuts. Once weve done that, we're almost ready to load our bike.



RockyMounts TieRod Roof Bike Rack Review - 2013 Hyundai Sonata

Today on our 2013 Hyundai Sonata we'll be test fitting the TieRod Roof Mounted Bike Carrier from RockyMounts, product number rky1014. To install our TieRod we'll remove the top cover and place it on our Sonata's roof rack and run the rubber straps at the front of the carrier under the front bar. We'll fit the ends of those straps and the head of the TieRod and then swing the rear clamp around our rear bar.With the carrier loosely installed you can adjust the placement until it is in the spot you desire. Once you have your placement we'll use the included Allen wrench to tighten the bolts and the head of the TieRod securing the front of the carrier to our Sonata. Once that is secure we can move to the back and use the wing nuts to tighten down the back of the carrier.That's all it takes to install our TieRod and now we're about ready to load our bike. We'll replace the top cover at the head of the TieRod and make sure that the skewer is loose and open.



Yakima FrontLoader Roof Bike Rack Review - 2013 Hyundai Sonata

Today on our 2013 Hyundai Sonata we'll be test fitting the Yakima FrontLoader Wheel Mount Bike Carrier, part number y02103. To begin our test fit we'll go ahead and place the bike rack onto the crossbars and we'll make sure that the front clamp here at the head of the bike rack goes around our front crossbar. We'll then move to the rear clamp where we'll make sure that the clamp runs underneath the rear crossbar adjusting it as necessary.We can then take the T-bolt, pass it through the clamp, twist it a quick 90 degrees and tighten down the wing nut securing the rear clamp to the rear crossbar. We'll move back to the head of the bike rack where we'll tighten down the wing nut here on the front clamping the front head to our front crossbar thereby securing our bike rack to the vehicle.We'll now go ahead and fold the front wheel hoop up and undo the strap for our rear wheel. We'll then place the bike into the carrier making sure that the front wheel rolls forward into the front wheel hoop. We'll also want to make sure that the rear front wheel hoop rolls up onto the wheel.



Thule Sidearm Roof Bike Rack Review - 2009 Hyundai Sonata

Today on this 2009 Hyundai Sonata, we're going to do a test fit of part number TH594XT from Thule. This is a side arm wheel mount bike carier. Our vehicles are already equipped with the Thule roof rack using the square loadbars and our bike rack has already been assembled according to the instructions so what we got to do is just place on the roof rack. We'll go ahead and place the bike rack onto the roof rack and we'll go ahead and install the clamps on the rail going towards the front post. We'll do the in board side and then move to the outboard side of the clamp. Now we still want to leave everything loose so we can move around to it's final position.



RockyMounts TieRod Roof Bike Rack Review - 2007 Hyundai Sonata

Today on our 2007 Hyundai Sonata, we'll be test fitting the RockyMounts TieRod Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number RKY1014. Now, our vehicle is equipped with a roof rack system and our bike carrier is pre-assembled, so we're ready to fit it to the vehicle. We'll begin by placing the bike rack on top of our crossbars. We'll need to make sure that the head of the bike rack is directly over the front crossbar. We'll take the rubber coated steel straps and run underneath the front crossbar and hook them back to the head of the bike rack. We'll then move to the rear crossbar, but we'll make sure that the clamp goes underneath the rear crossbar and we loosely secure it with the wing nuts included with the bike rack.
