Rob: Hey everybody, Rob here at etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Helium Pro 2 hanging style bike rack on our 2019 Honda Civic. Our Helium Pro is going to allow us to take up to two bikes with us to and from the trail. Now it is going to be a hanging style bike rack, so we're going to have three points of contact. We'll have two on the cross tube on the top, and then one on the vertical support. The one on the vertical support is going to prevent any kind of movement, or too much movement for our bikes, preventing that bike to bike contact and swinging back and forth too much.Now I know we've all been there.



Hollywood Racks Trail-Rider Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2017 Honda Civic

Today on our 2017 Honda Civic we're going to be taking a look at the Hollywood Rack Trail Rider 2 Bike Rack, part number HR200. Now we already have our bike mounted on here, let's take a closer look. You're going to have one frame hook right here, it's going to attach right at the frame. On each wheel we're going to have a strap, and it's just going to be hook and loop fastener. Now to take the bike off we're simply going to unhook the hook and loop straps on the front and rear wheel, and then we can come up to our wheel hook. We can push the button and lift the hook out of the way, and then we can remove our bike. Now with our bike out of the way I'd like to give you a few measurements.



Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2017 Honda Civic

Today, on our 2017 Honda Civic, we're going to be taking a look at the Kuat Transfer 2 Bike Platform Rack, part number TS02G. Now, one of the really nice features of this bike rack is if we're out and about and we need to get into our cargo area, we don't need to remove our bike. Simply lift up on the lever, push down on the foot pedal, and the bike will tilt away, and then, from either side of our vehicle, we can get into our truck and get anything in or out that we may need. Now, to put the bike back up, simply tilt it up, and you'll hear it lock into place. Now, the way our bike is going to mount to our rack, there's not going to be any frame contacts. You're not going to have to worry about any scratches or abrasions on your paint. On the back here, we have a wheel strap that's going to go around our wheel, and on the front here, we a wheel hook that's going to go right in front of our brakes.

Today on our 2017 Honda Civic we're doing a test fit of the Yakima HalfBack trunk-mount 2-bike rack. That part number is Y02636. Now we already have our bike secured down. We're first going to show you how we do that. We have three cradles with three straps, two on our frame and one as our anti-sway in the back. These are also known by Yakima as ZipStrips.

Thule OutWay Trunk Bike Rack Review - 2015 Honda Civic

Hello, I'm Brad at etrailer, and today we're installing the Thule Outway, on our 2015 Honda Civic. This is a trunk mounted bike rack that holds three bikes, so let's get to it. Okay, we'll begin by putting the feet underneath the trunk, and lightly pressing. Once your feet are hooked underneath the trunk, you can begin to pull up slightly and the legs will extend. The mounting points up top are two 90 degree angles. Loosening this knob will allow this to adjust angle, finding a secure fit.

So this is going to be able to get two bikes to and from your destination, and we are going to have three different tie-down points per bike. Today on this 2013 Honda Civic we're going to be test fitting the Thule Passage 2-Bike Rack, part number TH910XT. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. How the bike is actually attached to the rack, we're going to have three points of contact with the bikes frame. We're going to have two rubber straps up at the top, and one off to the side here, and that's going to serve as an anti-sway strap to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth, possibly hitting the bike rack itself or the bikes in front of it. Let's go ahead and take that off and set it aside. With the bike rack in this position, I'm going to go ahead and give you a quick measurement. From the bumper to this outer edge we've added about twenty-two inches to the rear of the vehicle. Now in close quarters situations such as parking or when you're putting this in your garage, you can fold these arms down. If you look in here there is actually silver tabs, there's going to be one on each side.

One off to the side, and that's going to serve as an anti-sway strip to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth, possibly hitting the bike rack or the bike in front of it, and damaging it. It also has an integrated cable lock here at the end, where you wrap it around the bike in the front, and attach it to this point here for additional security. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. To that, on the zip strips, there's tabs on either side of them.

Let's go ahead and take a closer look, and show off some of the features. How this attaches to the bike rack, we're going to have three points of contact with the bike's frame. We're going to have two straps up at the top here, and one off to the side. That's going to serve as an anti-sway strap, to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth, possibly hitting the bike rack, or the bikes in front of it, and damaging them. Also, it does have an integrated cable lock here, in between the two bikes. You pull this cable out, wrap it around the front bike, and into this slot here, where it is lockable for additional security.



Yakima DoubleDown Ace Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Honda Civic

Today on our 2012 Honda Civic we'll be test fitting the Yakima DoubleDown Ace 4-bike carrier for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, part number Y02451. Please be aware that when using a class one hitch you can only carry a maximum of two bikes. To begin our test fit we'll slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up the pinhole, and install our included pin. Now we'll go ahead and go over some key measurements. We have 9" of ground clearance. The closest part of the carrier to the rear of the Civic is about 5". We've added 10" to the overall length of our Honda Civic.



Thule Raceway Trunk Bike Rack Review - 2012 Honda Civic

Today on our 2012 Honda Civic we'll be test fitting the Thule Raceway Two Bike Carrier Trunk Mounted Bike Rack, part number TH9001. To begin our test fit we want to refer to the instructions or the Thule fit guide to see what number our dial should be set at. In this case our dial's going to be set at dial number seven. We'll go ahead and place the carrier onto the rear of our vehicle. We want to make sure that the bottom part of our carrier is sitting at the bottom of our license plate well. We'll then pull the little lever to extend our top hooks.



Thule Passage Trunk Mounted Bike Rack Review - 2012 Honda Civic

Today on our 2012 Honda Civic, we'll be test fitting the Thule Passage 2 Bike Carrier, part number TH910XT. To begin, we'll need to refer to the instructions or to the Thule Fit Guide to see what number our dial needs to be set at. In this case, our dial's going to be set at 7. We'll go ahead and place the carrier onto the trunk of our Honda Civic. We want to make sure that the lower arm of our carrier is sitting in the bottom of the license plate well. Now, we'll go ahead and put the top hooks in the top part of the trunk, the side hooks in the side, and the bottom hooks in the bottom. Once we have it situated, we can then make our way back around and tighten down each strap firmly. We'll go ahead and undo the cradle straps to expose our cradles, place our bike onto our frame cradles, and secure it by tightening down each strap. With that done, our bike is all loaded up, and we're ready to hit the road. That completes today's test fit of the Thule Passage 2 Bike Carrier, part number TH910XT, on our 2012 Honda Civic.
