The rack is much bigger than my previous one. I was disappointed that it was made in China instead of the USA. It assembled very easily and the light kit works very well. The only draw back is I can no longer open my tailgate with the rack installed due to the spare tire hitting the raised rack.
Purchased in March 2023. I really like the size, it holds a lot. The carrier is very sturdy, well made and assembled very easily. I purchased the light kit but found wiring could have been a little longer to dress the cables neatly down toward the hitch.

GearSpace 34 Enclosed Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitch - Slide Out - 34 cu ft - 300 lbs - Dark Gray
We looked all over for a hardshell storage pod, one that would fit 300 pounds of embroidery hardware. This one from Gearspace fit the bill. Super easy checkout with etrailer.com, and they were the only ones to offer free shipping, and since this is a larger, heavier item, that means LTL Freight. Not [online vendor] and not the Mfg. The GearSpace 34 arrived earlier than promised, and it was an easy unload if you have room for a sixty foot tractor trailer. 190 lbs on a pallet, but it will load right into the back of a pickup real easy. Took about 30 minutes to install, and it went like a breeze. Light test, check... signals, check. Ready to roll on our next RV trip, with lots more room for goodies along the way. This item gets an A+, it works as advertised, and etrailer.com was GREAT. They communicate often and update on order status. even sent out an email to get customer feedback and review, along with some pictures. I'm sure after this stellar review they will send me a nice etrailer hat & Koozie Pictures show the Gearspace 34 loaded with about 200 lbs right now. It never moved an inch and is solid on the mounting hitch hardware. You will not be disappointed with this product, it's top of the line for RV rear storage.
The gear space was delivered assembled; it took m15 minutes to attach mount into receiver and secure. My wife and I were able to lift onto mount with no problems. Looks great on the back of our Renegafe Vienna. An excellent solution to additional storage for full time Rv.

17x46 Curt Cargo Carrier for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Steel - 500 lbs
I've been using this Cargo Carrier on my 4 Runner Venture for about a year now. I Purchased this item to haul extra gear to Nags Head from Northwestern Virginia. Installation was a breeze and it's very, very sturdy. I had two Yeti coolers packed with ice and drinks and there was no wobbling at all. I'm a 197 pounds and I was standing on it after I installed it just to check for durability and this thing is a beast. I also used this as a rod holder while on the beach and I caught a 6 foot black tip shark. Overall, I'm very pleased with this item and I would recommend to a friend.
This is a substantial, well-made product at exactly the size I needed - smaller than many, and with sides that keep items secure. It was very easy to assemble, with all parts included and clearly sorted, and with all pieces manufactured to cleanly align. The item arrived promptly, packed to protect the shipment but without waste. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a high-quality cargo carrier.

20x59 Curt Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - Folding - 500 lbs
This carrier was super easy to assemble. It is a bit heavy but I was able to mount it onto my hitch alone. I’m using an anti-rattle lock and they work great together.
This is perfect! Our Mazda cx5 didn't have a ton of ground clearance after installing the hitch. This cargo carrier with the hitch riser is perfect to solve that problem. My only complaint is I stepped between the metal supports and the meshvonnthe bottom came loose/bent. Still holds up just find though. Ice had this thing fully loaded, too! Definitely recommend a anti-rattle or stabilizer kit to help stabilize it and lift it up.

A good size and very strong. I like the fact that it has a grated bottom, as opposed to a few bars like many of its competitors. There are many holes and notches present for any customization desired. Also makes for a great chair to relax. I also ordered the anti-rattle pin so as to fasten this tightly to the hitch. IMO that should be included with any of these trailer-hitch-Mount accessories.

Curt Roof Mounted Cargo Basket - 64-1/2" Long x 39" Wide x 7-1/4" Tall - 150 lbs
I love the rack and the extended length is great on my Sequoia. I am disappointed with the finish on it as the connector plates are already showing signs of rust….. I like it enough that I’m going to repaint it with something more suited to our climate…
The rack and extension arrived in sturdy boxes, well packed and no damage in shipping. The parts fit together easily. The welds left something to be desired, which is why I gave it only 4 stars. As a precaution against corrosion,I got some plasti-dip, which is a rubberized vinyl sealant and sealed all the places where moisture could get into the various tubes of the rack. I was satisfied with the quality of the powder coating on all the parts. The mounting system to the roof rack is interesting and appears well-designed. The assembly and installation instructions are OK, but could have been written better. For example, there is an extra tightening knob for the U-bolts, but no description if it is there as a spare.

Rhino-Rack Roof Mounted Steel Cargo Basket - 47" Long x 35" Wide - 165 lbs
Greetings, I am giving these items 3? Because I was offered alternative products that did not fit together. Originally, I intended to purchase a roof rack cargo basket type and a spare tire holder from Yakima manufacturer that go well together, but one of them wasn’t in stock. So, after 3 weeks waiting time, I was offered alternative items via etrailer website, and I accepted them…after all, they are the experts. I got the recommended items through UPS, then I assembled them by myself. The roof rack cargo basket fit well on my car, but the spare tire holder was not compatible with the roof rack cargo basket. They couldn’t be assembled together. I submitted my claim to return the spare tire holder. Now, I have not achieved my goal to carry my spare tire. Understanding the needs and expectations of your customers is critical to maximize customer satisfaction. I am sure both products are good, but they are not compatible together, even though they were manufactured by the same company. Distributors should know better! I returned one item and I hope to be refunded.
Great product. Easily puts together and I was able to install on our 2016 Toyota Highlander OEM roof rails with no problems. The mounting brackets slide to make for a easy fit. Have taken it on two long road trips with zero issues last summer one to the montains and one to the beach. Was able to fit our jogging stroller on in the basket. Had some heavy rain on one trip and seen no signs of water getting into the rails as that was a concern of mine when researching the different racks. The high sides allowed for easy tie downs for the weather bag we put the stroller in. Seemed to add a little road noise with nothing in it but that is to be expected when hauling things on the roof but the wind deflector seemed to keep the noise down. Easy to put on and off with a single person able to lift it. Great product, great fit for the car. Plan on using it for some more upcoming trips.

Curt Roof Mounted Cargo Basket - 41-1/2" Long x 37" Wide x 4" Deep - 150 lbs
I am very pleased with the quality for the price.Just the right size for my 2017 Chevy Trax.the "U" bolts that are used to clamp the basket to the roof cross bars were a bit long so I cut them shorter & installed rubber caps on top of each stud. This keeps the studs from damaging items in the bssket.See pictures.
The reason I bought this basket is due to gas prices. I have a 4X4 suburban I use for camping and hunting but it takes a small loan to fill up the tank. Actually this basket cost less than it does to fill it up. So my thought was if i can get all my gear on my daily driver then i could save some money and maybe even sale the burb. So i gave it a shot last weekend. The rack was easy to put together. I had it out of the box and on the roof in under 30 minutes. As you can see in the pic, i have a rather large ice chest, chain saw, 6 man tent, gas stove and my chair on the roof. My camping destination was about 3 hours away. First was a hour of highway driving at speeds around 70. No issues there. Then 2 hours of windy back roads. No issues there either. The basket made it possible for me and my two kids to load up in the car and head to the hills for three days. The plus for me was it only takes 50$ to fill up the car. :-) I had the max weight in this basket with no issues. I'm very happy with this basket.

Yakima RocketBox Pro 14 Rooftop Cargo Box - 14 cu ft - Black
I've taken one 1500 mile trip so far with the Yakima RocketBox Pro 14 mounted on my RAV4. I found the box to be quiet and not to have much impact on gas mileage. I lost maybe 1 mpg with it mounted to my flush mounted Whisperbars. I drove through some very heavy rain and had a minimal amount of water inside under a thin rubber mat I had placed on the bottom of the box; none on my luggage got wet. This box works great to give me more carrying capacity when traveling with my two crated Dobermans.
Terrible build quality , crooked label, lock /latch does not work unless I remove backplate, after a couple times of opening and closing rivet came off latch. For $[XX] would think bettet quality. Seems like Harbor Freight

Rhino-Rack Roof Mounted Steel Cargo Basket - 57" Long x 42" Wide - 165 lbs
Great product. Great quality. Instructions not real clear, so took me a couple of hours to assemble. Then another 15-20 minutes to secure to roof racks. I was working alone, extra hands would have helped. But extremely happy with quality and looks of product. We have lots of family that visit us, so I plan to carry luggage on the rack to free up space inside the vehicle on trips to and from the airport.
Love it! It's big enough to fit a bike carrier and a cargo bag on top of my MINI. Easy to assemble and install, solid construction. Great value for your money. If I have a gripe it's that the wind fairing on the front is VERY thin/fragile. I caught it with my bike tire when loading one day and the corner snapped right off like nothing. It's only about $XXX for the replacement.

Yakima SkyBox 12 Rooftop Cargo Box - 12 cu ft - Black Carbonite
It was an adventure to get to fit on outback factory installed rails with it being a so close together but was able to flip the locking feet to get every to fit nice and tight look great and no wind noise.
Sturdy, low profile, easy to open/close. It worked to expand road trip space for 2 adults, one dog on a 2,500 mile trip. No leaks during major rainstorm, did not feel drag with wind from driving. We did use soft side duffles as packing room was snug. 2 duffle bags ( moderate size), a few other small bags, it worked. Was pleased with the carrier. One note, we needed to get it professionally mounted as it was not standard for Acura RDX.

Yakima MegaWarrior Extra Large Roof Rack Cargo Basket - Steel - 74" Long x 48" Wide
Roof rack arrived dented and scratched which complicated the installation because I had to hammer out dents to get the pipes to fit. Apart from that, the paint/coating scratches off fairly easily and the installation design is pretty awful. Instead of threading the pipe to accept screws they have this complicated plastic gasket mechanism which takes forever to align. I expected more from Yakima and for the price. Quick delivery from etrailer and good fit overall-- just need to wait and see about rust.
Initial quality was excellent and assembly a snap. Finding a roof basket that wouldn't look like a tiny hat on a Jeep Commander was difficult, but the MegaWarrior is perfect! Assembly and mounting took less than an hour and it looks great. Now it just needs to be outfitted with a set of off-road lights. ;-)

SportRack Vista XL Cargo Box - Roof Mount - 18 cu ft - Black
Our SportRack cargo box has worked as hoped / advertised since we bought it over a year ago. What initially attracted me to this particular product was the size and design - it holds A LOT, and the way it opens from the back has helped protect our stuff from getting wet and damaged.
The sportrack vista xl is great! This was our first attempt at a roof mounted cargo box and it has preformed exceprionally well! I purchased this as a gift for my wife, to go on her Subaru Crosstrek. We live in western NC, and have used this to go to the outer banks of NC, eastern Tennessee, and even to bring home supplies from Sam's Club! It's super easy and quick to install, even for one person, and we've been fortunate enough to not have a single leak yet; even though we've been through heavy downpours! And there's plenty of room! If you're in the market for a rooftop cargo box this is the way to go.

24x60 etrailer Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - Tilting - Folding - 500 lbs
Super disappointed in this etrailer purchase. The product came in a large box that was fully intact and not damaged. The actual cargo basket was meticulously wrapped and appeared to be brand new as expected. The other components however, like the arm, were in boxes that were smashed, old, worn, and had multiple layers of old tape. The arm itself was scratched and banged up, even rusty in spots. Clearly it was used or had been a returned item. If I wanted a dented, gouged,and rusty Cargo Carrier I would have purchased one used, for half the price. This is not the quality I expect from etrailer.. I have purchased many racks and other items from this company and usually the quality is outstanding. This time they dropped the ball. I have since read other reviews and it is apparent that this is not an isolated incident. I'd have sent it back if it wasn't so damn heavy and awkward to lug around.
Holds all my gear. Just what I was hoping for. Now my dogs have the car all to themselves. Really bummed that there are "Made in China" stickers all over it. I went with etrailer because I thought they were a USA company. I guess no one can turn down that cheap slave labor. Hopefully my gear does not end up on the highway.

And today, we have the Flint Hill Goods Aluminum Cargo Carrier that's 60 inches by 22 inches, and we'll take a look at how it fits our 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan. So right off the bat, if you need a lot of cargo space, but you don't wanna have to deal with a lot of weight, this is gonna be a great cargo carrier for that. This is gonna be one of our larger aluminum cargo carriers, so with you having all that space, because it's made of aluminum, it's also lighter and easier to install. But depending on how you install it though, it might be a little tricky, because the Dodge Grand Caravan has a bumper that sticks out over here, so you're gonna have to like reach around the carrier to get into place and make sure that all that is tightened down. So that is something to be mindful of.

Thule Canyon XT is great for those situations where inside your Grand Caravan you either need more space, don't have enough space, where you can carry your luggage, your gear, your sporting goods, your camping equipment, anything on the roof of your vehicle and frees up a little space inside your vehicle.Now like most things that you can put on your roof, they're gonna get noisy. Now this does help to cut down the noise with the included frame that comes pre installed on our actual roof basket. Right now we have attached aero bars but this will also work with square, round, elliptical and most factory roof racks as well. You can see at the end here there's a plastic lock. That can be replaced with a Thule lock core which is sold separately, so you can secure this to your roof rack system but you can also purchase several of these and make a key to like with your roof rack system as well.It provides several tie down points on the side here as well as below to help keep your gear secure and not moving.

As an open basket design, meaning that you'd want to be careful of what you put up there, because they're going to be exposed to the elements, so anything that's sensitive to heat, cold, or water, you probably want to try to keep that inside your vehicle. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of its features. First, this has 12 cubic feet of space to work with inside for your luggage, your sporting goods, or your camping equipment. It comes with two keys to lock and unlock it, and the keys can only be removed when it's fully locked. When it's unlocked they'll stay inside.I would like to point out that this does only open from the passenger side, so when installing this you want to make sure it is closer to the passenger side for ease of loading and unloading.
Thule Roof Box Review - 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan
Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan we're going to be test-fitting the Thule Motion XT Rooftop Cargo Box, part number TH629706. We already have it installed on our roof. Let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. This does have 16 cubic feet of space to work with on the inside to store your luggage, your camping gear, or your sporting goods equipment to free up some more space inside your vehicle. You can also put ski equipment in there since it's long enough.It comes with a set of two keys to open it on either side. When it's in the locked position, you can remove the key, but when it's in the unlocked position, the key will stay inside, and it has this convenient switch to open it up.
Stallion Roof Basket Review - 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan
Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're gonna be test fitting the Stallion Rooftop Cargo Basket, part number 288-09200. This basket measures 44 inches long by 39 inches wide by 7 inches deep. It has a carrying capacity of 150 pounds, but you always want to double check with your vehicle's manual, to make sure that it can withstand those weights on the top, as well as your roof rack itself. We have most of it installed already, but we'll show the last U-bolt going into place. It's gonna be back here at the passenger side rear. Set anything off to the side here, first.
MaxxTow Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan
Today on this 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're going to be taking a look at the MaxxTow 30x50 Wheelchair Carrier with a 48" Long Ramp for 2" Hitches, part number MT70106. We already have our carrier installed onto our vehicle, and this does have a 500-pound carrying capacity, and it has mesh flooring both here as well as the ramp, which is going to make it easy to clean. Also, we have these points on the front, back, and side, and that's going to serve as a tie down point for either your ratchet straps or bungee cords when you're putting your wheelchair, or your lawnmower, whatever it is you're hauling. Once you're ready to either unload or load up your wheelchair, you have to lower the ramp first. To do that, you have these pins right here that are holding the braces up to keep it in this position. To take them out, you just remove the pin first, then our clip here, like so. We're actually going to lift it up to this point here, and secure it up here so it doesn't just fly around, and reinsert our clip. We'll do the same on the other side as well.

Today on our 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're going to be taking a look at the MaxxTow 30 x 50 wheelchair carrier with a 60-inch-long ramp, for two-inch hitches only, part number MT702460. This is what the carrier's going to look like once it's installed on your vehicle. Right now we have it in the position you would have it if you're actually hauling your wheelchair or whatever it is you're carrying in your carrier. This does have a 500-pound carrying capacity. It has this mesh flooring here, as well as the ramp, and that's going to make it easier to clean. We also have tie-down points all around the cargo carrier for your ratchet straps or your bungee cords. We also have reflectors on the end as well. Let's go ahead and show you how it unfolds.
Inno Roof Box Review - 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan
Today on our 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan we're going to be test fitting the Inner Wedge, 660 Rooftop Cargo Box. Part number, INBRM660BK. This set is 11 cubic feet of space to work with, and it measures 80 inches long by 33 inches wide by 11 inches tall. You can see it fits around our roof rack here by gripping it with the memory feet which we're going to show you here in a second, and is dusted around the factory class barge you see here, as well as round, square, arrow and elliptical. This is adjustable along the barge, should you need it. Also, how we have it set right now there isn't going there isn't going to be any interference between the hatch and the box itself. This does open from both sides. Let's go ahead and show you how it works here.
Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan
Today on our 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're going to be test fitting the 20x48 Curt cargo carrier for 1.25 in and 2 in hitches, part number C18110. This has a carrying capacity of 300 lbs. We have this nice mesh floor here which is going to make it easier to clean. At the front and around the sides, we have these points here which are going to serve as tie-down points for either your ratchet straps or your bungee cords. The exhaust is going to be on the passenger side of the vehicle and it does face down away from the cargo carrier, and thanks to its raised shank, which is going to improve clearance issues between the cargo carrier itself and the ground, you're not going to have to worry about heat sensitive material once you're loading that up. With it in this position right now, we do have full access to our rear hatch to get anything we need. However, I am going to go ahead and give you a break over point measurement and that's going to be the point where your hatch would come into contact with whatever it is you're hauling.
Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan
Today on our 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're going to be test fitting the 24x60 Curt Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches, part number C18152. This has a carrying capacity of 500 pounds. It has this nice mesh floor here which makes it very easy to clean. We also have this rail here, all the way around the cargo carrier, and that can serve as tie-down point for either your ratchet straps or your bungee cords. It does have a raised shank to it, so your clearance will not be an issue, as far as from the cargo carrier to the ground. We do have a tail pipe here on the passenger side, however, it is pointed down, away from the cargo carrier, and thanks to the height of the cargo carrier, you're not going to have to worry about any heat-sensitive materials once you're loading things up. I'm going to go ahead and give you a couple quick measurements now. Starting with the edge of the bumper to our outer edge, we've added about 33" to the rear of the vehicle.

Today in our 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan, we'll be doing a test fit on the Thule Canyon XT Roof Mounted Cargo Basket. That's part number TH859XT. We've already got it loaded up on the Grand Caravan, as you can see. This is going to be great for getting your gear out of your van and up on the roof of your vehicle, so you can carry more passengers and pets. Like always, when loading things up on the roof of your vehicle, you want to be sure that you've got enough room to open up your rear hatch. You can see where we've got the basket positioned on our factory roof rack system, we're not going to have that problem. A few features to know about this basket, it's going to add a stylish look to your van.
Rhino Rack Roof Basket Review - 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan
Today on our 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're gonna be testing the Rhino Rack roof-mounted cargo basket, part number RMCB. This measures 47 inches long by 35 inches wide by five and a half inches tall, and has a carrying capacity of 165 pounds, although you always want to double check with your vehicle's manual to make sure that your roof can withstand that weight. It does have an aerodynamic shape to it, plus it has a fairing installed on the front, which is gonna cut down on the wind noise and drag while you're driving, and this will work with, as you see here, factory cross bars, as well as square, round, elliptical, and aero. It's very easy to install, and we'll show you how the last bracket goes on. We're gonna come here to the back corner of the driver's side, where we already have our plastic piece installed between the cargo basket itself and the crossbars. We also have our metal piece installed in the top here, and it just pushes into place like so. We'll put our bolts through, and these are Allen-head bolts, like so, and then we'll take our bottom bracket, line it up, and start tightening our bolts down. Some things that this can actually be used for are anything from sporting goods equipment to camping equipment, anything wet you want to keep out of your vehicle, or just anything you want to keep out of your vehicle to make more space for you and your family as you travel. Try not to lose the tightening tool as you're tightening it.
Thule Roof Box Review - 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan
Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Motion XT Alpine rooftop cargo box. That's going to be part number TH629506. As you can see, this cargo box mounts the roof rack of our Grand Caravan. You can use it for either the factory roof rack that we have installed on this certain Caravan. Or if you have a naked roof along with a after-market roof top rack, it's going to work out with that as well. It has a very nice aerodynamic shape to it, and that's going to help cut down on wind noise and drag while you're traveling.It's got a wider base than a lot of other roof top racks do.
