Just received the 41/48 inch hitch extension today so haven’t actually used it. However, one can tell the high quality by looking at the welds and thick paint coating. This item is extremely heavy. I expected some weight to it, but it surprised me. Also, the tubing has very tight tolerances. I have two ball mounts, neither of which slid into the extension on their own. I had to pound them in and tap them out with a 3 pound hammer. Once paint and labels were scraped away by this action the ball mounts were able to be slid in by hand. This extension will be used on my dually carrying my truck camper. I’ll be towing an aluminum trailer with a Can Am Spyder. Total weight towed will be less than 2000 pounds so I don’t expect the extension to be subjected to any stress.

I purchased the hitch extension to accomendate our bike rack to go on the back of our truckcamper. I also purchased the bike rack and steps at all work perfectly together. The extension is very heavy duty and can be used for towing a boat. The only con was not the extension it was the packageing it beat itself up. I also added turnbuckles and safety chain and electrical extension.

High quality part! It was exactly what I needed. This is pretty easy to use with the only challenge being lining up the holes with the receiver and the hitch. Still pretty easy.

I really like the magnets. The design allows it to stay in the hitch even when nothing else in there. The lip keeps the sleeve from slipping into the receiver like most other hitch reducers. The product works as advertised and fits into the hitch nicely.

We used this to be able to take our golf cart in the bed of our truck while pulling our travel trailer. This extender allowed us to have the tailgate down for the golf cart. It worked perfect and even had a couple people come up to us wondering how we were able to bring our golf cart. Before this we had to take 2 vehicles or just not take the golf cart.

This ain't pretty. But size does matter. The 58102 2" X 2 1/2" receiver adapter hits the spot. It fits nicely into the 2 1/2" receiver with, at most, 1/8" space "slap" room. It's almost full length front to back inside receiver providing plenty of support for my 2" weight distribution system without slap. I have not hooked up my Forest River 29'4", 10,7 75 lb. GVWR Puma tow behind R/V but I do not have any fear of this well constructed, perfect fitting receiver adapter. The people at etrailer are there, willing and able to assist you. I have personally found that, if the C.S. Rep doesn't know the answer, she/he will find the answer and report back to you, in my case within minutes. My purchase was delivered (snail mail) within 5 days and In excellent condition. I will report back shortly after a trial run hooked up.

This is a good quality reducer.

Product quality is fine, however, tried to use with an ebike rack on upper hitch and flat tow hitch on bottom. Vehicle sway at highway speeds was too much, and I found bike rack on back of the towed Jeep was better.

This is a much higher quality (thick and heavy) than I imagined it would be; I'm pleasantly surprised. I'll be using it to mount a trailer hitch cargo carrier and a dog step at the same time when we go on long vacations.

The hitch has held up over Alaskan roads towing a jeep, but it does not sit level in the receiver so the tiny little bit that it sags is exaggerated when the tow bar is connected. Paint starting to peel with wear after a year.

I got this hitch extender to put on my camper so that I could mount my bike rack. It worked like a charm!! The bike rack and bike were super solid on the trip cross country!!

Used the Malone 2" Dual Purpose Hitch Receiver to have a bike rack with two bikes on the upper Receiver and a 21' bassboat on the lower Receiver. Ran down to Florida Everglades, Florida Keys and back home. Almost exactly 4,000 miles. Hitch worked perfectly. I did find that you can not "jacknife" the boat as much or the bow of the boat will touch the bikes on the rack but that is to be expected. Hitch was quiet, strong and exceeded my expectations. Easy to install and looking forward to using it again in a month for another 4,000 mile road trip. Note: I drive fast and the roads are not always perfect. This is a sturdy Hitch Receiver. I purchased this product from Etrailer instead of other online sources because I trust them having products that they stand behind. In looking at ratings from other sites made me question quality.

Quick processing and delivery and Will our sales rep was an excellent help in picking the correct hitch extender. This was an excellent choice as it gave the clearance needed for the bike rack and has a built in anti-wobble feature included. One thing to note, this is for racks only and it is not designed for towing anything.

I use the extender on my bike rack so I can access my tailgate and truck bed with the rack on. It does what it supposed to do and looks barely used although I travel to trails twice a week.

I was surprised by just how solid and heavy it was made. Just what I needed to move my Bobcat UTV hitch back to I can use it as my yard dog to shift my trailers around and not worry about the plastic tailgate nor the plastic bed getting damaged. The hitch sits under the bed and this extends it out so it is useable.

Work great! I needed an extension due to my truck camper. It holds my heavy duty bike rack and 2 ebikes with no problems.

I have a Can Am Defender and the actual hitch is up under the back end so when I hooked up a trailer, I couldn't raise or lower the trailer without the crank handle hitting the tail gate, now I have plenty clearance and I love it.

Extremely helpful if you have a trailer with a short hitch. I was concerned that it may cause trouble when driving, but it is working great.

Would purchase again little longer than expected

I would like to have the actual distance from the weld joint to the hitch pin hole of 4 1/2". This unit is slightly less than that.

Worked out great for my family bike adventure. Traveled with that setup over 1000 miles and it was easy drive. I had cargo carrier on the bottom and bike rack on top, and with that setup and 4 people on board still plenty of ground clearance 11". Dual hitch is a solid piece of steel that can carry a lot of lbs. Just don't overload max. tong weight, need some room for safety!

Great solution to set up my bike rack on tv trailer.

This is exactly what I needed on my truck. The hitch gave me the reach I needed to launch my boat while keeping the trucks rear end out of the water. The recent tides are high and my trucks tires and rotors would get submerged in the water. With the extension added only a small portion of my tires were in the water. The tide was high that it was spilling out of the ramp. I do not tow with the extension. I take the time and exchange the hitch in the boat parking lot. It worked perfectly. Thanks
