A tailgate pad is a great way to carry a lot of bikes with you to your destination. They're very affordable, they're easy to install, and it doesn't take a whole lot to get going and this one can carry up to five bikes. If you want to carry that many bikes, there aren't really many options out there. There's maybe one or two hitch-mounted racks that can do up to six, but that's not everyone's preferred way to go.

So as you guys can see, we got our three bikes up on here and we don't really have to worry about scratching our tailgate, or scratching our bikes, just because every part of our bike that is exposed in the back, isn't going to make its way to our precious tailgate. So this, in my opinion, is the ultimate way to get bikes to and from your destination if you have a truck, just because we don't have anything in here. So you can put a ball mount on there. I have seen a guy have all of these bikes on here, and haul his camper. I think that's pretty neat, just because there's a lot of bike racks that are gonna work for your hitch but not for the back of a travel trailer. We already have two of our three straps secured down, and we're going to show you our last one here.There are multiple different ways that we can actually secure this to our tailgate. We're going to show you one that we found is easier.What we'll do is we'll come to the center here and open up our hook and loop door, and we can lower our tailgate just a bit. You want to hold onto your tailgate pads so that it stays and sits evenly. We'll come to the edge. We're going to start to feed our strap through and between our truck bed and our tailgate.

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, we're going to be doing a test fit of this Swagman Pick-Up Truck-Bed-Mounted 2-Bike Carrier. This will be part number S64702. A few things I'm going to go over before we get it up in there. Make sure that you unlock your lock here by simply turning it and making sure it's in the unlock position. You push in and then you'll turn it, so unlock it, and then we'll press on the lever. This will allow us to collapse it like so, and then this will be our tensioner when we get it in the truck.
