Best 2018 Mazda CX-9 Trailer Hitch Ball Mounts

Strong and seems to be well made and well finished. One-inch ball mounting hole. I used this for a Curt hitch mounted on a 2014 Forester and pulls a small Harbor Freight trailer. Perfect height and trailer is level. Warning - don't get their hitch pin, it does not have a hole for a cotter pin, only a weak clip that I would not trust.

I searched the internet to put a hitch on my 2016 Chevy Equinox and found an instructional video from eTrailer.com where they installed on my exact car. I decided to go with eTrailer.com because they answered all my questions and because of the video-I support businesses that go the extra mile with these videos. Shipping was quick and well tracked, however, the box was flimsy and the one end of the hitch had come out of the box side and the ball mount could have easily come out of that hole during shipping. If I were eTrailer.com I'd charge an extra couple of bucks for more sturdy boxes-people will still buy as eTrailer is a well-trusted brand and this would overcome a lot of the negative reviews you'll see on their site about this shipping issue in their own reviews :-) I installed the hitch by myself (definitely recommend help as two people holding it up to the frame makes attaching 100% easier) in about 45 minutes total (out of the box, read instructions, review video again and installation complete). All hardware went on with no issues. Great quality hitch! I also bought the lesser expensive wiring assembly because most recent equinox's come hitch ready with pre-wired assembly in the left side compartment-snap and done. Picked up a new trailer at Home Depot within days and drove 5 feet and the clacking was horrible. I had always had a welded hitch before buying a hitch that took a ball mount. I really thought something was wrong and when I searched the internet that night it turns out this is very common. However, all you need is some sort of hitch "silencing" device. The number of options will drive you mad but I went with the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch and it did the trick for much less than most of the other options. If I were eTrailer.com I'd have that as one of the RECOMMENDED add-ons and explanation why its super-worthy when customers are buying a hitch. Would have saved me the time and hassle of dealing with it later and the extra shipping charge for buying after the fact when I got free shipping for the other items the first time :-) All in all, I'm super, super happy with my hitch, wiring assembly, ball mount, ball mount locking pin and the hitch silencer. I have two of these. My first I bought two years ago. I very highly recommend this Curt Class III Ballmount 2" Drop because of its price, durability and quality. I towed various class 3 loads with ease and confidence with this ballmount. It slides into the hitch and does its job without fail. It looks excellent after towing a load. etrailer's price is about as good as it gets and delivery is very speedy.

The hitch and ball mount are excellent quality. My concerns are twofold. The hitch is so heavy that I had to take it to my mechanic to have it installed. Minor cost and inconvenience, but the hitch for my previous F-150 was just as sturdy, but easy to install myself (albeit with higher ground clearance). My concern about the ball mount is that the factory told me erroneously that it could not be reversed for a drop, so I returned it. This order is for the replacement after I was finally correctly told it could be reversed and how to do that. Ball mount would have been a 3 for that reason, and overall hitch and ball mount quality a 5. So I averaged them.

This is a great all-purpose hitch. I've used it to mount a heavy-duty bike rack and a steel T-rack to carry a canoe as well as lumber. Most recently I hauled 5 x 8 cargo trailers full of plants, then furniture for a 600-mile move. It was simple to use, problem free, very strong and sturdy. Now that I live on some acreage, I see a trailer in my future, so this will get a lot more use. I drive a 2013 Tacoma, so this is a good size hitch at a good price with sufficient capacity for my needs. I do use a key lock for the hitch as well.

I actually got my hitch the date they said it would be here to my surprise. When the box arrived it was pretty much beat up, not the hitch just the box. I wished there was instructions how to install it. Overall very satisfied and will buy from 5hem again

To be honest, I use it upside down. I needed a hitch with rise, but none were available at time of purchase, and yours, inverted, works perfectly! The welds are regularly checked and remain all secure. It's a good hitch.

Working in the sand and grass of my driveway my wife and I installed our new etrailer receiver hitch. Great fit and finish! Went right on as described in the online guide. Hitch required a spacer washer on top back bolt attachment point. Taped it on so it would not move while lifting in place and it stayed right there! Used a car jack to raise up and hold the hitch into the underside of the trunk tighten the bolts and reattached the tail pipe done. Now we can pull our Sunfish Sailboat any where the car will go.

Hitch is solid and install was 2 hours

Recently bought a Kubota RTV x900. The receiver is located under the bed. With the extra long ball hitch drawbar I can easily get to the drawbar and use a clevis to hitch my 5ft. wide mower or attach a ball and use the trailer. The pictures will illustrate the length of the drawbar which makes access very easy. The product is heavy duty and well made. This draw bar in perfect for my John Deere X738 tractor. What I like about it is the ¾” rise it keep the draw bar height at about the same as the factory frame so the attachments height remain level. Thanks for the great product.

Not much you can say about a bar with a piece of flat metal welded to it; well made looks good. What is really important is that e-trailer is fast, friendly and knowledgeable. I've ordered from them anytime I needed a trailer/RV part.

I have been using the Rapid Adjustable Aluminum Ball Mount hitch for over a year averaging 3 days a week delivering new compact diesel tractors to customers. The hitch has held up very well with no signs of wear. The Teflon black caps on the ball are awesome when hitching up, there is no problem with the receiver sliding onto the ball when miss aligned. I have recommended this hitch to many of my friends and customers, they too are pleased with the hitch.

Sturdy and feels strong / heavy. Love it, except for the part when I forget it is behind the van and run into it :)) Not pleasant. Easy to install and the drop is just right for my trailer. Before I used to have to raise the tongue all the way to the top of the jack, now it feels like it is just there. The trailer seems to be well balanced now.

After balking at the cost to have an auto-shop add a trailer to our Toyota Highlander, we found etrailer.com and decided to take a chance. The "how to" videos factored considerably in our decision to buy ... they made it look so easy! And surprise! It really -WAS- that easy. We used standard block-type ramps (the kind you can buy for $40 ) to get the SUV up off the ground high enough to get underneath to do the work. Everything came off as easy as it was showed in the videos. Other than the fact this bar is a heavy so we had our teen daughter help hold it steady while we bolted it into place (i.e., get help for when you go to lift it), it went super smooth. Looks to be a well built hitch there's virtually no other 12" drop hitches short of expensive adjustable ones it's just about right for my custom bumper

Arrived today. Fast shipping, and thank you for that! Seems to be a quality ball mount. Just what I needed to get the ball lower to tow my trailer. With this, now the top of the ball is at 16" where it needs to be. Custom built receiver on my old moving box van. Just need to weld on safety chain slots and paint it. Can't drop the lift gate with the receiver in (its pinned on both sides), but hey....I can tow now.

My Mini Cooper is lowered and this unit really helped level out the trailer I am pulling. The product is heavy and solid. I would definitely recommend this item

Heavy duty! I was a little bummed when I found out how much more difficult it was to find a half inch pin for this, but no matter. It is a tad loose inside the hitch, so there's a little rattle, but I doubt it's as noticable as I make it seem. Super classy and a welcome change from the typical draw bar style. I use this hitch when I pull my horse trailer to make the stop/start transitions as smooth as possible for the horses in the back. It works great. I also love that its a category IV hitch. Really heavy duty. My truck sits pretty high, and the amount of drop - 8" is perfect. I never worry about hitch failure travelling with my horses - they're a heavy load, and any failure would be a disaster. I have a 2012 GMC Sierra HD with a 12" suspension lift. I recently purchased a ball mount hitch with 8" inch drop for our 36' RV trailer and it worked great. It took 3 days for the hitch to get to me. Great service from e-trailer.

Love these. This is my third one. Wouldnt pull a trailer with anything else. Trannys are expensive.

Not as versatile as a traditional hitch mount and ball, but much neater if it happens to fit your needs. This fits my Subaru Outback perfectly and places the ball at the ideal height for my trailer. One piece means one less thing to fail.

Great product. Fit and finish is excellent. I've mounted the Curt 1 1/4" hitch to my 2007 Mazdaspeed3. Taking the rear bumper off, which only took 30 minutes (maybe a few minutes more than that) made it very easy to attach the Curt hitch to the car. I wanted to compliment the Mazdaspeed3's overall appearance, so, I decided to go with the Curt euro ball mount 11 3/4" . Very pleased with the outcome.

This worked out to be the perfect ball and mount for my purpose- occasionally having to use my car to tow my utility trailer. I got this and the DrawTite receiver hitch for my '99 Monte Carlo and everything went together in less time than the estimated time that had been shown. Very happy with both purchases!
